Music and Lyrical Adaptation by Jack Hartmann

This song is available on Jack Hartmann's Rhymin' to the Beat.

One, two
Buckle my shoe;

Three, four
Shut the door;

Five, six
Pick up sticks;

Seven, eight
Lay them straight;

Nine, ten
A big fat hen;

You’re doing great!
Let’s do it again!

Repeat

Well are you ready?
Let’s go to twelve

Eleven, twelve
Be proud of yourself

Thirteen, fourteen
Reach high for your dreams;

Fifteen, sixteen ?
Hands are for helping;

Seventeen, eighteen
Together we’re learning;

Nineteen, twenty
Be all you can be!

Introduction

Once you've done the initial assembly and read the safety instructions, you're ready to go! Before towing, make sure that the seat belts, seat belt, tow hitch, trailer wheels and hitch are securely fastened.

Note:
Any left or right reference is made in the direction of travel, as if you were sitting inside the trailer and looking ahead.

Safety instructions
  1. Check and maintain your bike and trailer regularly. See "Safety Checklists".
  2. Due to the added weight of the trailer, a trailer-towing bike is heavier and less responsive. Avoid sharp turns, rocks and curbs. Experiment with a loaded trailer in an unloaded area until you get comfortable with it.
  3. The minimum age for a cyclist is 16 years.
  4. The maximum trailer load for children and/or cargo is 75 pounds (34 kg in Europe) for single trailers and 100 pounds (40 kg in Europe) for double trailers. Secure children and/or load centrally, in front of the axle and as low as possible.
  5. The trailer seat is designed for 1 or 2 children who are old enough to wear helmets, sit upright and alone, and have enough neck strength to keep their heads upright while towing. A doctor should evaluate anyone who is at a questionable developmental age for towing.
  6. The maximum age of passengers is 6 years. Never transport a child whose seated height (with a helmet) is higher than the roll bar.
  7. Fasten the seat belt and shoulder belts so that each child is securely fastened. Seat one child in the center. Check the position of the shoulder straps periodically, especially for sleeping children.
  8. Make sure that children cannot get their fingers into the wheel spokes.
  9. Tell children not to jump or lean over as weight shifting could cause the trailer to tip over.
  10. Always use a protective cover to protect children from flying debris. Open or close the window cover for your children's convenience. Never leave children unattended. Examine children often, especially in hot or cold weather.
  11. Follow the recommended speed of 15 mph (24 km/h) maximum on smooth, straight roads and 5 mph (8 km/h) or less when turning or on rough roads.
  12. Apply the parking brake before removing children or cargo.
  13. Never pull a trailer with a motorized vehicle.
  14. The cyclist and passengers must wear helmets.
  15. Use only factory wheels with inflated tires.
    to the pressure recommended on the sidewall of the tire. Check pressure before each use. Do not use tires with higher pressure or tires with spikes.
  16. Clamp Attach the hitch securely to your bike frame and check it is secure before every ride.
  17. Use the security flag.
  18. Do not modify the trailer. Contact an authorized Burl Dealer to replace any damaged, worn or missing parts.
  19. Do not use trailer on icy roads or when inclement weather makes cycling dangerous.
  20. It is recommended to use the mirror on the bike.
  21. In case of emergency, breakdown or flat tires, pull completely off the road and move children to a safe place before attempting repairs.
