Comparing Lexile and DRA Levels
There are a variety of tests that can be done with students to determine their reading level, one of which is a Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA). If you are an educator or parent dealing with a reader that has been assigned a DRA level, and are looking to move them into the Lexile® Framework for Reading, then it is ideal to understand both.
The DRA test is usually done annually or semi-annually and is an intensive test that measures nine categories of reading behavior, as well as the main types of reading errors. The system itself was developed in the 1980s, with revisions done in the early 2000s, and measures several skill sets. The tests are focused on phonetic awareness, alphabetic principle/phonics and fluency.
Once completed, tests are evaluated and scored, with grading in numeric for children reading independently and alphanumeric for very early readers – ranging from A1 up to 80.
The Lexile system offers more regular assessment of a student’s reading ability, and allows you to track their improvement as they read. The grading is different, but you can accurately correlate a student’s particular level using a conversion chart, such as the one below from Scotland Elementary.

Today, on the final day of the regatta, the dragon racers were finally given the wind and the athletes were able to enjoy the dynamics of the race! Two final starts with a 10-knot western wind completed a four-day marathon that took place in the waters of the Gulf of Finland in St. Petersburg.
The struggle for the main prize unfolded between the teams "Comme il faut" by Sergei Borodinov (RUS 81) and "Sotka" by Pavel Andrianov (RUS 100).
Moreover, the intrigue persisted until the last minute. In the first race of the day, "Comme il faut", leading after three days of the championship, again took the lead and did not concede it until the very finish. But the Sotka team, which pulled itself together after an unfortunate 13th place in the previous race, did not lag behind. Everything was decided by the final sixth race. Next… →

Russian Championship 2022: second day

The second racing day of the championship is over. The leader is Sergey Borodinov's Comme il faut team (RUS 81) with 9 points after four races. The team of Vasily Senatorov (RUS 34) moved up to the second place with 11 points. The rest of the teams also changed their position, but first things first.
The morning greeted the athletes with hot sunny weather and a stronger southwest wind of 8-9 knots than the day before, which allowed the races to be held more dynamically. At noon, the starting procedure was carried out on the GSS and 20 boats (with the exception of RUS 6) rushed to the distance. Pavel Andrianov's "Sotka" immediately took the lead and did not concede its advantage until the finish line.
