Okay, quick disclaimer, I know that just sounded like I know what I’m talking about, and kind of sounds like it’s from a teacher’s perspective, but it’s not.

This is just information that I’ve gathered through experience and through researching for many years on my own.

7 ways to come up with the name of your company
Having a name for your own business is hell. We at Inc.Russia went through it more than once and figured out how to simplify the task. Go through each item on this list, get inspired by the examples, and come up with something of your own. Without the help of agencies, registration and SMS.
Your name
The case when everything is invented: your parents gave you a name, and you gave him his company. On the one hand, the option is simple. On the other hand, responsible. You and the brand will be perceived undividedly, so you will have to guarantee the quality personally and take care of two images at once - business and your own. If you are ready, do not pay attention to the fact that according to your passport you are Smirnov, and the surname is taken: the same names do not prevent Ford from producing cars, and Tom Ford from clothing.
Monsters like Philips, Boeing, Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, Gillette, Mars and Procter & Gamble got their creators' names. And Jacuzzi, Martini and Winchester have generally become household names.
In Russia, companies named after themselves were opened by Evgeny Kaspersky, Oleg Tinkov, Andrey Korkunov, Alexander Pavlovich Merbaum (U Palych), Ilya Oskolkov-Tsentsiper (Tsentsiper), as well as Igor Mann, Mikhail Ivanov and Mikhail Ferber.
If you don’t like your name, use it as a basis - clay, from which, with a skillful approach, a masterpiece will come out. So, Maximilian Faktorovich founded Max Factor, Petro Poroshenko founded Roshen, and Kiichiro Toyoda founded Toyota. Replacing one sound made it possible to write the name with a hieroglyph of eight strokes - a lucky number in the country of the samurai.
Alien name
Your name doesn't fit? Take someone else's. However, there is too much choice here, so try to limit it. Are you a family business or something for the soul? Remember the names of relatives and friends (including pets). Do you need something solemn and pretentious? Search among commanders, heroes and ancient gods. Highly specialized business? Think of the scientists, writers, intellectuals who excelled in your field. Want to play local specialties? Go through the historical figures who have been in your area.
Napoleon cognac, Tesla cars, and Maxim magazine are named as foreign names. The theme of mythology is especially well disclosed: Nike praises the ancient Greek goddess Nike, Canon - the Japanese Kannon, and ASUS - the winged horse Pegasus, the offspring of the Gorgon Medusa and Poseidon.
In the USSR, they were inspired by real characters: the Dzerzhinsky plant and the Lenin metro. Today in Russia - the Victoria chain of stores and the bankrupt Kira Plastinina (the company that owns the brand belongs to the girl's father). Scarlett appliances are named after Gone with the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara, and Mel Gipson, a plaster molding design studio, has tweaked the actor's name slightly. The literary theme is loved by the owners of bars and restaurants: in Russia there are several "Griboedovs", "Bukovskys" and "Pushkins".
Place name
If you're starting a business in a small town, chances are no one has turned it into a brand yet. And if you are a resident of a metropolis and even the surrounding clearings have gone to the names of companies, expand the scope of your searches on the map. Get inspired by your favorite vacation spot or the river near which you rented your first office. The village where they spent their childhood, or a sonorous name that evokes the necessary associations.
Mobile device maker Nokia is named after the Finnish river Nokianvirta, Winston cigarettes celebrate the city of Winston-Salem in North Carolina, and software developer Adobe is named after the creek that flowed near the co-founder's home.
The kitchen shops "Maria" got the name of the island of Santa Maria, where the founders of the business rested before registering it. Champagne Abrau-Durso - a rural district in the Krasnodar Territory, where the wine house is located.
Activity
Reflect the type of business in the title - so potential customers will immediately understand how you can be useful. The sign "Burito at the Patriarchs" says much more than if it says "You'll lick your fingers!".
Perhaps the most famous example is Thomas Edison's Edison Electric Light Company, which was later renamed General Electric. The corporation, which seems to deal with everything in the world, began with the production of incandescent lamps. It is also immediately clear what Raiffeisenbank, British American Tobacco and Coors Brewing Company are doing.
The simplest domestic examples are scattered everywhere - "Products", "Atelier for tailoring", "Pharmacy 24 hours". The options are more complicated - Aviasales, Moscow Jewelry Factory, Russian News Service.
Abbreviation
Shorten two or more words. Take only the first letters, take several letters from different parts of words, or combine both methods. The goal is to sound good. And decoding can be quite ordinary, basically it will only matter to you.
So did IBM (International Business Machines), Adidas (the name of the creator is Adolf Dassler) and KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken). Ingvar Kamprad combined the first letters of his name with the name of his native farm Elmtaryd in the parish of Agunnaryd - and received IKEA. And Sony consists of the Latin sonus (“sound”) and the English sunny (“sunny”).
In our country, abbreviations are loved by major players: MTS (Mobile TeleSystems), AvtoVAZ, UMMC (Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company). The word Yandex was born from the phrase “yet another indexer” (“another indexer”). An option is to use a pseudo-abbreviation: the TNT channel claims that its name means nothing.
A similar way is to combine two or more words into one. This is almost an abbreviation, but with the difference that the words must be taken either in their entirety, or not all of them must be abbreviated. Duracell is derived from durable cell ("durable element"). Coca-Cola combines the names of the plant ingredients of the drink: coca leaves and kola nuts. Russian examples are Rocketbank, Roskosmos and Yandex.Money, TV series producer GoodStoryMedia, and VkusVill stores (Russian for “taste” and English for village). It is not shameful to combine the same words, as the creators of the Chop-Chop hairdressing salon, the Easy-Easy workspace and the Duran-Duran group did.
Association
It seems that many companies are named by random words that have nothing to do with their profile. But there is usually a connection: these are associations that have arisen in the minds of brand creators about their business. An image, an object, a phenomenon, a mission - anything can happen. The main thing here is not to try to come up with just a beautiful word or phrase. There are too many of them, and flipping through the dictionary is not the fastest way. Look for associations that you like, that make sense, that suddenly come to mind, or that might be useful.
There are many legends around the birth of the Apple brand, but one, due to its pragmatism, looks more convincing than the others. Such a name guaranteed the company a successful placement in the telephone directory - right after the game maker Atari. Jaguar cars hint at the strength that lies behind the external grace and elegance of the beast. Richard Branson named the company Virgin because he really was a virgin in the business. And Alibaba helps small, poor companies gain access to treasures from all over the world - like the hero of a well-known fairy tale.
In Russia, high-speed trains are given the names of fast and agile birds: "Peregrine Falcon", "Swallow", "Swift". However, there can be several words (workshop "Do a thing"), up to a whole sentence (bar "Honey, I'll call you back ...").
New word
The option is convenient in that the new word will most likely be free, even the domain.
Google originally called itself the word Googol, meaning a number that is written as one followed by one hundred zeros. The creators of the search engine Larry Page and Sergey Brin believed that this number, like no other, symbolizes an infinite amount of information on the Internet. However, the googol.com domain was taken. Friends did not want to refuse a beautiful word - and wrote it with a couple of mistakes.

How to write your name beautifully?
Many people try to emphasize their individuality even in small details. So, for example, some people try to write their name in some original way. If you also want to somehow highlight your name, portray it in a special way, then we will now tell you how to write a name beautifully.
Pretty electronic name
It's very popular these days to write down names in unusual fonts and symbols and then use them for social networks. How can you beautifully write your name in electronic form? Let's consider the ways.
- The easiest way is to open a text program, find the "Font" column, click on it and choose the one you like among the proposed fonts, and then write down your name to them.
- If you have a Windows system, then you can easily use the character set. The path to the symbol table is as follows: Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Symbol table. You can use some of them to replace the letters in your name, or to make your name look pretty at the beginning and end.
- Beautiful characters for name design can be obtained in another way. To do this, press the NumLock key, this will activate the number pad on the right side of the keyboard. Now you need to simultaneously press the Alt key and one of the numbers on the right side of the keyboard. You will get a beautiful symbol. So you can check the possible characters by pressing Alt and the number keys in turn in order, and then choose the most beautiful characters from the received characters for decorating your name.
- You can write your name for social networks in an original and quick way, for example, for Odnoklassniki, if you type "symbols for classmates" in the search. Then click on any of the first links and you will get a large list of beautiful symbols. All you have to do is copy the ones you like and use them to write your name.
- There are also services with which you can beautifully write your name using several elements at once: font, color, letter thickness, size, presence / absence of a shadow, and so on. You can use any of these services, such as this one.
Write your name on paper beautifully
Sometimes you need to write your name beautifully on paper, but what if you do not have beautiful handwriting?
So, you can try to slowly, trying to make the letters smooth and rounded, write down your name. To decorate the line on the first and last letters (for example, in the name "Anastasia" these are the letters "a" and "z"), you can round it even more, draw it in the form of flagella or loops.
If you want to write your name in an unusual font, then you can find on the Internet and, if you wish, download a list of fonts with examples, find the one you like and, having studied how the necessary letters are written in it, copy them onto paper, making up your name from them. You will find examples of some fonts. you will find examples of calligraphic fonts that you can also use when writing your name. And if you just need to write a name in ordinary beautiful Russian letters, then you will find a sample of writing the alphabet
You can also write your name in graffiti. Consider one of the easiest graffiti in which you can depict a name.
- First, write down your name on a sheet of paper with light straight lines (we draw with a simple pencil for now).
- Then you need to make the letters three-dimensional. Small rectangles should be used instead of line sketches, so we draw lines in the form of such rectangles on top of the sketches.
- The name turned out to be more voluminous. The lines with which it is written need to be made clearer, and then small notches should be added at the ends of the letters.
- The outlines of the name are now complete. It is necessary to clearly circle them and erase the auxiliary lines. After that, with a marker (it can be black, it can be colored) you need to circle the name.
- At the very end, you need to make an outline around the name with a marker.
For a better understanding of how to write a name in the form of graffiti, look at these drawings. Also on this site you can find other graffiti, use them as examples to beautifully write your name.
Unusual ways to write your name beautifully
We have told you several ways to write your name beautifully and unusually. Choose any suitable and experiment!
How to draw a name?
Nowadays, one of the most popular hobbies among young people is painting walls, fences and even trains in the "graffiti" style. For those wishing to learn this type of art, we suggest mastering the style of graffiti, starting with writing your name.
How to draw your name beautifully in graffiti style
The general simplified scheme is as follows:
- Write your name in capital letters in the middle of the sheet.
- Draw volume by making each letter a large oval shape.
- Outline the outlines of the letters with a black marker.
- Draw all the other details of the letters with a black marker.
Now you can turn on your imagination and experiment with volumes inside the letters themselves. With a simple pencil, they can be corrected beyond recognition, or vice versa, to make them the most readable.
The final and most important touch is the coloring of your graffiti. Here you can do it according to the standard, taking only your favorite colors, or "play" with shades as follows:
When writing your name, try to apply the 3D effect as well. When using it, the letters have a different volume - one side of the letter may be thickened, and the other too narrowed.
You may also be interested in our article. We also suggest that you familiarize yourself with an interesting resource - graffiticreator - this is the creator of the name. Here you can draw your name in graffiti style for free online. In order to use it, you need to enter a name in English, choose the style of its writing, color it yourself to your taste and save it on your PC.
Before inking the name of a loved one on your body, you should think about whether you are really ready to wake up every morning with a tattoo that will remind you of a specific person. If, after a series of such reflections, you, nevertheless, have not abandoned your idea, the next step is to carefully select a place for the tattoo.
If a tattoo with a name is not your first experiment in body art, then you should choose a place that blends harmoniously with other tattoos on your body. Try to fill the body with tattoos symmetrically and evenly. If a tattoo with a name is your first tattoo, then we will recommend you a number of suitable locations. Guys may consider places like:
Girls should pay attention to such places as:
- Forearm;
- Waist;
- Below the navel.

Short form of the name Maxim. Max, Maksimka, Maksik, Maksya, Maksyuta, Maksyusha, Poppy, Sima, Maxi, Maxo.
Synonyms of the name Maxim. Maximus, Maximo, Maxen, Maximian, Massimo, Maximos.
Origin of the name Maxim. The name Maxim is Russian, Orthodox, Catholic.
The name Maxim is of Latin origin and means "greatest" in translation. It comes from the Roman cognomen (personal or generic nickname) Maximus. For the name Maxim there is a related name Maximilian.
These two names are close to each other in sound, and also come from the same cognomen, so it is often believed that the name Maxim is a form of the name Maximilian. It happens that you can affectionately call Maximilian like that, but these names correspond to different names of the name day. The names Maxim and Maximilian are completely independent for each other, like two brothers - relatives, but each on his own.
The name Maxim is found in the Orthodox calendar, and in the Catholic calendar it corresponds to the names Maximian and Maximus.
Maxim's character strongly depends on what his parents emphasized during his upbringing. So, both pride and ambition are inherent in Maxim, but these features should not cover the rest. It is very important that parents do not try to develop them in a boy. Maxim, who is not led by ambition or pride, is a well-disposed person who can achieve a lot.
As for the rest, Maxim does not give his parents any trouble. As a child, he is calm, fond of books and stamps, likes to attend children's performances. During the school years, the boy is gaining a large baggage of various knowledge.
Maxim's energy can only be envied. However, pride pushes this man to acts that cause resistance from others. One day, Maxim may not have the strength to defend his opinion. Having broken down, a man with this name will lose self-confidence, it is very likely that he will become depressed and, as a result, will become unsuccessful either in business or in life.
It is very important for Maxim to be moderate in everything. Often strong patrons appear on Maxim's life path, helping him to avoid a sad fate. However, at the same time, the man completely loses his independence.
Maxim's peak of success falls on the first half of his life. In his younger years, his self-esteem helps to establish himself in the chosen field. As a rule, Maxim is drawn to intellectual pursuits; elite circles are especially attractive to him. In them, this man successfully maintains a beautiful image that attracts both men and women. Having matured, Maxim should change his occupation and life orientations, but often he forgets to do this and looks ridiculous and stupid, trying to look younger.
Not all Maxims are able to overcome their vanity and pride. Those of them who were able to do this become extraordinary and outstanding personalities. Maxim has considerable intellectual abilities and a mass of energy.
One can judge Maxim from the first meeting with him even by the way he prefers to call himself. A balanced and respectable man who has outgrown youthful maximalism will introduce himself as Maxim, and if pride and inflated self-esteem still control this person, then he will most likely call himself Max.
Maxim is more of an extrovert by nature. He is not devoid of diplomacy, able to understand others well. Maxim will easily convince you of anything, especially when it comes to love and feelings. A man with this name successfully manipulates people, in which his imagination and intuition help him. In the depths of his soul, Maxim is sure that he is the master of life.
When choosing a profession for Maxim, a big role is played by the fact that he actually lacks penetrating qualities. He often doubts and does not show perseverance. At the same time, he is friendly to people, without hesitation he will come to the rescue. Only passion for the profession will help Maxim reach great heights. Most often, a man with this name becomes a journalist or photographer.
Maxim starts paying attention to the opposite sex very early. He will always conquer his companion with his patience and calmness in those moments when, it would seem, they cannot resist an emotional explosion. However, this man will not allow his opinion to be neglected. Maxim can often fall in love, but he will not go for treason. He is loyal to his family and children. Often, a powerful woman is next to Maxim, helping him to stay away from the bad.

Have you heard of calligraphy? This ancient art was born along with the emergence of the alphabet. The first of them appeared more than three thousand years ago. In essence, calligraphy is the skill of beautiful and neat writing, which manifests itself in the design of signs and symbols.
Why do we need calligraphy
Why do we need calligraphy in everyday life? This applied art can be seen as a way of self-expression and spiritual relaxation. You can beautifully write a name or quote with the so-called "calligraphic handwriting" and enjoy your work.
It may seem that calligraphy skills were in demand in past centuries, when there were no printers, typewriters, etc. in a person's life. However, this is not so. If you look around, you can see that calligraphy is all around us: website graphic design, modern graffiti, brand logos on advertising posters, names written in beautiful fonts on fancy postcards. This list is endless.
So how do you get to know the great art of calligraphy? Let's start simple: let's figure out how to write a name beautifully.
Posture and Calligraphy
So, first of all, pay attention to your posture. Correct posture has a positive effect on many aspects of life, including handwriting. Straighten your back, straighten your shoulders. Make sure that the body does not lean forward, and the chest does not rest on the table. Bend your legs at a right angle and touch the floor with your feet. Elbows should not lie on the desk. At first, this posture will seem uncomfortable and even tense, but over time you will get used to it and appreciate all the benefits of an even posture.
Back to school
Do you remember how your parents and teachers taught you how to hold a pen from a young age? It's time to remember those lessons. The correct position of the handle is on the middle finger, holding it from below and above with the thumb and forefinger, respectively. The fingers should not be too relaxed or tense. When writing, rest your hand on your little finger.
Analyzing handwriting
Now let's move on to the practice of writing in order to know and understand how to write a name or even a whole sentence beautifully. Write a couple of lines. Any. Write without focusing on your handwriting. Now evaluate: what do you dislike about the written text? Incline? Height or width of letters? Maybe your handwriting is too broad or, on the contrary, too tight? Compare this to the handwriting you would like to have. Analyze what exactly you need to work on.
Copybooks for adults
As with other skills, learning calligraphy has to start small.
