Games Won’t Load
I purchased the full app for my kid but half the games won’t load! Half the time only the videos load and not the actual interactive portions. Really upset about the functionality after spending 12$!

What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Learn with Sesame Street is a subscription-based app that focuses on early social-emotional learning. It uses the characters from Sesame Street to explore emotion regulation and other social skills through stories, songs, and interactive games. There's one activity to try without an account or a subscription, but to access full content, parents need to sign up and provide a credit card number to start a 30-day free trial. A Learn with Sesame Street subscription can be bundled with the early learning app, HOMER Learn & Grow, which is from the same developer. What’s It About?
After downloading LEARN WITH SESAME STREET, parents can sign in or set up an account — or tap play to preview the content without one. The main screen shows five locations, each corresponding to a different learning theme. Kids tap a location, then tap an activity to start. Once completed the next activity loads automatically. The five themes covered are bedtime routines, kindness and empathy, trying new food, conflict resolution, and navigating social spaces. Four activities in each theme follow the same pattern: interactive story, song, interactive faces game, song or video.
Is It Any Good?
The Sesame Street crew is well known for delivering complex messages in clear, engaging, and accessible ways and this app is no different. Songs, stories, and activities introduce new words, ways to recognize and talk about feelings, and strategies for navigating routines and interactions with others. Audio directions are clear, and activities are simple enough for young kids to follow.
There's also some good feedback when kids makes a choice that doesn't quite fit. That said, there's room for so much more. For example, two out of four activities in each theme are songs or videos, which are great but also totally passive experience for kids. The stories that introduce each theme shine as the best activity type. They're engaging, interactive, and highly relevant to young kids' lives. Learn with Sesame Street would be a lot stronger if it had more of that kind of content. Though it's probably not worth the subscription price on its own, as part of a bundle with HOMER Learn and Grow, Learn with Sesame Street is a nice addition for young kids that's worth checking out.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the learning themes in Learn with Sesame Street. Ask about times when kids have experience similar situations or feelings. What happened? What did they do about it?
When kids are in situations that resemble the learning themes, help them remember the strategies and lessons they learned.
Sing the songs, discuss the stories, and talk about the feeling words.Help kids practice recognizing and identifying emotions in themselves and others. Use lots of emotion words. Point out facial expressions and body language and ask what emotions they represent. Ask how your kids think book, TV, or movie characters feel at key points in the story.
