"Sid the Science Kid" comes to life in this incredible live stage experience! Kids and parents alike will be thrilled as Sid, May, Gabriela and Gerald come to their town to discover the excitement and curiosities of the world around them. With wonders to discover, Sid and his friends set off on a day of excitement and adventure, as they explore their five senses through fun games and interactive experiments, as well as asking curious questions and finding fascinating answers. Teacher Susie is also along to keep the music flowing as the kids explore the world around them with audience interactive activities, cooperative problem solving and plenty of laughs to go around.
There is even a surprise sixth sense revealed by Teacher Susie. SID THE SCIENCE KID LIVE! will have the whole family cheering, exploring, dancing and excited to figure out more about the great unknown together.

The live show is produced by The Jim Henson Company, Mills Entertainment and Gables Grove Productions. SID THE SCIENCE KID LIVE! features songs from the PBS series. With book by Joe Purdy, the story was developed by John Tartaglia and Joe Purdy with direction by John Tartaglia, choreography by Shannon Lewis and music direction by Michael Shawn Lewis. The Brad Simon Organization is booking the tour.

The statement is difficult to refute, but it is not so easy to follow it. And not only because our desires enter into various interactions with the desires of others and often contradict the accepted norms of behavior (and even the law). But also because few people can clearly articulate what they want from their lives.
And now I'm not talking about the classic question of an HR employee “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”, to which it is easy to come up with a socially desirable answer, but about a truthful answer to yourself. In childhood, questions of the meaning of life occupy individual geeks, but a child can clearly say what he likes and who he wants to become (even if today he is a veterinarian and tomorrow an astronaut), philosophical throwing begins in adolescence, but by the time he graduates from school, everyone of us, on our own or under the influence of parents and friends, makes a decision that determines the direction of life for the next couple of years.
Life goes on as usual, and without an urgent need, we are less and less likely to ask ourselves the question “why do I live this way”.
If only because the number of obligations is growing, habits are being formed, fatigue is accumulating - and it is becoming increasingly difficult to imagine how you can give it all up and start life anew. So we get the sad statistics of dissatisfaction with our work, our partner, our prospects - our whole life. Someone humbles himself and learns to find joy in what he has. Someone solves problems pointwise, while the reason is often the same, systemic: it consists in the fact that a person lives in contradiction with his inner values, lives someone else's life. Gives melodrama, but in fact tragic. How to understand what is important to you0013 really?
In the late 1950s, the value clarification method began to gain popularity in the United States (it still hasn't come up with a beautiful translation, so let it be "value discovery"). The model of the method was proposed by Louis Rats, and it was used at first in schools. But soon after the release of the book of the same name, written by Rats' student Sid Simon and two co-authors, the method began to triumph * across the country and migrated from school classes to the arsenal of business coaches of all stripes, as well as to books on popular psychology.
In essence, this is a conversation with oneself with the help of questionnaires and exercises, which the authors call "strategies". It emerged as an alternative to two main ways of forming beliefs:
- theoretical education
- role models
It assumes that the parent/teacher/friend/you yourself will treat your personality as a scientist to the object of research. That is, collect as much objective data as possible and try to identify patterns of behavior and their causes, and ideally, learn to manage yourself.
Rats starts, of course, with a definition. "Value", in his opinion, corresponds to seven conditions: chosen freely (1), from several options (2), after considering the consequences of choosing alternatives (3), you are satisfied with your choice (4) and are ready to defend it publicly (5) and most importantly, behave in accordance with this choice (6) not once, but regularly (7).
