Valentine cookies are soft and chewy with chocolate pops of pink, red, and white M&M’s. They are Valentine perfection!

These make adorable little gifts for friends and teachers, or a sweet after school snack. For more Valentine sweet treats, try our other favs: Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Valentines Sugar Cookies!

The best Pink & Red COOKIES!

I’m all about the pink and red! I love LOVE and I adore showing everyone how much they mean to me, especially around Valentine’s Day.

Baking and making sweets is one way I do this. After all, I think food is my love language. 😉

These cookies are not only chewy and delicious, but they are packed with M&Ms! I always place LOADS of the candy on top, not only to add to the flavor but to ensure you see the pretty Valentine’s colors.

Doesn’t that color scheme just make you smile?! These Pink and Red cookies are great for making as an after-school treat in February, for a class party or even a Family Valentines Dinner.

How to Make Valentines Day Cookies

These cookies are simple and delicious!

DOUGH. Cream together sugars, butter and oil in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients as well as vanilla.

M&M’S. Mix in chopped M&Ms {however many you want}.

BAKE. Form the dough into balls and place on a greased pan. Top each with 5 M&Ms. Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes.

So simple and yummy AND the perfect Valentines Day Cookie!

Recipe Tips

Pretty and Perfect: I often get asked how I make my cookies look so pretty. It’s a super easy trick that I use for any cookie that has mix ins. For these Valentine cookies, it’s M&M’s.

Once you have the dough balls scooped place 5 M&M’s on top of the dough ball. Be sure they are all near the center of the dough ball. As the cookies spread the M&Ms in the center will too.

Aside from adding valentine M&M’s you can also add valentine shaped sprinkles. Jimmies are pretty and fun as are the sugar crystal sprinkles.

FAQ

How to chop M&Ms: I use a nut chopper. You can also use a food processor or even place them in a Ziploc and crush them with the bottom of a cup. You can add as many chopped M&M’s as you want. Just be aware that if you add too many, the dough won’t hold together very well.

Can you freeze cookie dough? Place the dough balls on a baking sheet. You can add the M&Ms on top now, or save them to add right before baking. (I like to save them to add later because they tend to fall off in the freezer.) Put the dough balls in the freezer, once solid transfer them to a freezer Ziploc. Freeze for 3-4 months.

How to bake frozen dough balls? Place dough balls on a baking sheet and allow to thaw while the oven is being heated. Bake according to recipe directions. You may need to add 1-2 more minutes to account for the colder dough.

How to store? Once the Valentine cookies have cooled, they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days. Adding a piece of white bread into the container will help keep the cookies soft.

How to freeze cookies? Place the batch of cookies in a freezer ziploc separating layers with parchment or wax paper. Freeze for 3-4 months.
