Big Bird is a character on the children’s television show Sesame Street. Officially performed by Caroll Spinney from 1969 to 2018, he is an eight-foot two-inch (249 cm) tall bright yellow anthropomorphic canary.[3][4] He can roller skate, ice skate, dance, swim, sing, write poetry, draw, and even ride a unicycle. Despite this wide array of talents, he is prone to frequent misunderstandings, on one occasion even singing the alphabet as one big long word (from the song called “ABC-DEF-GHI,” pronounced /æbkədɛfgi:dʒɛkəlmɪnɒpkwɜrstu:vwɪksɪz/), pondering what it could mean. He lives in a large nest behind the 123 Sesame Street brownstone and right next to Oscar the Grouch’s trash can and he has a teddy bear named Radar. In Season 46, Big Bird’s large nest is now sitting within a small, furnished maple tree, and is no longer hidden by used construction doors. He wears a red neckerchief and straw hat on his birthday and a red and blue necktie on special occasions every year and in early television specials.
In 2000, Big Bird was named a Living Legend by the United States Library of Congress.[5]

Areas of Interest
Big Bird was originally designed by a drawing from Jim Henson and built by Kermit Love in 1969. The design was based on a previous Henson creation: A seven foot tall dragon that the puppeteer created for a La Choy advertising campaign.[10] The Big Bird performer is completely enclosed within the costume, and extends his right hand over his head to operate the head and neck of the puppet. The Muppeteer’s left hand serves as the Bird’s left wing, while the right wing is stuffed and hangs loosely from a fishing line that runs through a loop under the neck and attaches to the wrist of the left hand. The right hand thus does the opposite of the left hand: as the left hand goes down, the right hand is pulled up by the fishing line. For some of the Journey to Ernie segments, a second puppeteer (usually Jim Martin) controls Big Bird’s right wing. He is concealed by dressing in a body suit the same color as their chroma keybackground (something that obviously cannot be done on the main Sesame Street set).[citation needed] Big Bird’s body suit weighs ten pounds, and his head weighs four pounds. According to writer Louise Gikow, the heat inside the suit is “unbearable, and it’s extraordinarily difficult to hold Big Bird’s head.”[11]
Academic Degrees
In the mid-late 1970s, Big Bird made several appearances on The Hollywood Squares. As with Mr. Hooper, Big Bird frequently mispronounced host Peter Marshall’s name, calling him “Mr. Marshmallow” or “Mr. Masher”. In another episode, when asked by Marshall what kind of bird he was, Big Bird replied “I’m a lark”, which broke Marshall up.

Big Bird Sings! Review
by Eugene Chadbourne
Big Bird Sings! was the "Big Bird Album," a few years before the movie, all steps in an inevitable process when a marketing empire such as the Muppets is concerned. One by one, characters are pushed into the limelight to see if they can take the heat. The conclusion was, eventually with probably a few ruffled big yellow feathers, that Big Bird was better as part of an ensemble. Taken on his own as the focal point of a set of songs, Big Bird produces an album that is best taken in small doses. That said, the listener should be able to give credit where credit is due in the fine quality of the productions, including the usual seamless performances from session players gathered together by Joe Raposo. "No Matter What Your Language," written by Jerry Moss and featuring the likeable Emilio Delgado in his role as Luis, is a sweet song with a fine message. "How Do I Know I'm Here?" is a weird question coming from a character who takes up as much space as this guy and can be seen from blocks away to boot, but even Big Bird gets to delve into existentialism. Crediting the authorship of tracks such as "Big Bird's Poem" to Big Bird himself is a nice touch.

Bird alphabet.
Umnoteka children's portal SunA
Stork is known for generosity -
He brings children to mothers.
And a singer - such songs...
And a dancer from the very best.
Albatross soars over the sea,
proudly flies over the waves,
Argues with the wind, argues with the sea.
Doesn't know how to be submissive.
B
Cormorant is a dexterous fisherman,
He is a great fisherman.
On a long neck, a nose-hook,
Catch a fish - and in a bag. nine0003
Snipe lives in swamps,
Gets food from mud.
And somewhere in the reeds is a nest.
It's hard to see where it is.
The golden eagle is circling. With a keen eye
He sees a hare. Stone down.
He is a hunter, it's clear at once.
Do you want to live? Look out!
The petrel catches the storm,
Powerfully cuts the clouds.
Silence of sea blue
Hurricanes frighten.
B
The woodcock is barely visible,
His suit is the color of the grass.
Only the long nose sticks out. nine0005 Knot? Or a twig from the grass?
Long-tongued Bluethroat,
Knows many languages:
Bird song, someone's screams,
The sound of cars and the roar of horns.
Sparrow drooped in winter,
He is barely alive: "Chick-chirp."
And when the sun warmed up,
“Chick-chirp,” is already laughing.
A crow and a raven are two different birds,
They cannot be together. Never get along.
Let the black color not bother anyone,
They will never recognize themselves as relatives.
Vertisheyka like a woodpecker,
Only very small.
She has such a character:
She shouts to everyone in fright: “Remove!”
Bittern, like a bull, shouts angrily.
Densely hidden by reeds.
The bittern stretched its neck,
wants to be a reed.
D
Gaga will dive and disappear for a long time.
I want a fish. So you want it fresh.
But she lives little on earth,
She hatches her chicks and swims away.
The loon does not like to walk on the ground,
And she sleeps even in cold water.
Will only build a nest, but next to water,
Water is her home, her food pantry.
Jackdaw gallops along the road,
She has such legs.
Jumps straight, to the right, to the left
So easily and so skillfully.
Rook walks sedately in the garden, -
He wants to eat - that's the reason.
Whatever he finds, right into his mouth.
That's full. And no hassle.
The vulture does not like to hunt,
It is better to look for the dead.
It is not difficult to deceive him.
He is also a coward.
Capercaillie is not deaf. Capercaillie is not blind,
He hears everything, sees without problems. nine0005 But as soon as he begins to sing a song,
And immediately deaf and completely blind.
Gogol is a duck. Duck only
Builds nests on the ground.
Imagine for a moment,
has a nest in a hollow!
D
Drozd sings. And in this song
The voice of different birds is heard.
he is a famous mockingbird,
an amazing artist.
Bustard like an airplane
Jogging.
Run up and fly,
Important and slow.
Dubonos with a massive nose,
He is an expert at gnawing bones. nine0005 So easy, so fast, simple!
Who else can do that?
A woodpecker hammers a tree trunk
With a long, strong, thin nose.
He himself is full. Healthy tree -
He treats trees deftly.
E
Spruce loves the forest so much,
He eats seeds from cones.
Will eat some rascal
And throw a bump on the ground.
Eat whoever wants, there are enough cones!
So he feeds the forest brothers.
Each bird has its own food,
What is good only for her.
One has leaves, seeds,
Another meat must eat.
And this, really, is not a whim:
Each bird has its own life.
F
Lark from the sky
He sends greetings to everyone with a ringing song.
The sun, the sky, the forest and the field -
Everyone sings a happy share.
Zhelna is the largest woodpecker.
He is a friend to sick trees.
The barrel is hollow, but they are pleased.
He is a surgeon. But without hands.
Crane moves stilts,
Comes closer... closer... closer.
But the dancer is one of the best -
He will teach anyone to dance.
Z
Gem Kingfisher
As if dressed in silk.
Catches fish, drags children.
Here is a real parent!
The finch carries a song from the heart,
Likes to warm up in the song.
Builds a strong house for children,
So that it would not be scary in it.
And
Ibis remembers the pharaohs.
They are gone, but he is still alive.
He still lives in the same house,
Where before. Where the Nile is.
Oriole, like a cat, can meow
And, like a flute, it will play softly too.
The best singer! And he loves to swim:
So from the flight he cuts the water with his bright chest.
Y
Y sounds like an anguish,
Birds can't sing this sound.
This letter will close the syllable -
There is a deep meaning in this.
And without this letter, the word
seems to be completely unfamiliar.
K
Guillemots will arrange their market,
Many thousands - guillemots, guillemots.
But they habitually live in the sea.
Why? What's the secret?
Warbler so crackling,
Mosquitoes over her cloud.
Stuffs mouth with them.
How else does she sing?
The kinglet is very small,
Its weight is only five grams.
Will disperse in earnest
And will start snooping around everywhere.
The kite fumbles over the forest,
He is looking for his prey.
His interests are clear,
The people are only dissatisfied with the bird.
The cuckoo pours “cuckoo” around.
Counting? Sings? Or maybe sad?
Where are her children? All one on a bitch.
And what does she say with this “cuckoo”?
Kulik praises his swamp -
Where else can you find something like this?
Fat frogs, large flocks -
Catch and eat. You won't get lost!
Partridge wherever she wants,
Builds a warm snow house.
She will dive into the snow on a polar night,
And she will not care about frost.
L
Swallows under the roof
They mold a house out of mud.
Strong house came out,
The best in the world.
A white swan swims
Among the pure light waters.
Majestic, proud,
She arched her neck beautifully. nine0003
The forest horse sings, flies,
Dreams of meeting a girlfriend!
And meet - quiet and invisible.
All care will be left to the children.
Harrier flies over the ground
Slowly and smoothly.
Nothing that he himself is gray-haired,
But a glorious hunter.
M
Maina looks like a starling.
And eats pests too.
Somewhere she can help,
Somewhere they drive her away.
Marabu strides importantly,
Bald like any wise man.
Will not repeat twice. nine0005 Once said, and that's it, the end.
Moskovka brings aphids to children
And bark beetles, ants...
As soon as she feeds her children,
And the forest around is almost healthy.
Flycatcher catches flies
And eats larvae in the garden.
She has a good sense of smell -
I'll catch everyone, I'll find everything!
N
Nandu ostrich. The ostrich is large.
And he can't fly either.
But he runs as if
He can catch up with the car himself.
The tawny owl is a predator. During the day he sleeps.
Flies to hunt at night. nine0005 Flies silently, quickly, dexterously,
To catch and eat a vole.
Diving is inseparable from water.
Is it with water? Is there water with it?
If he wants to eat, he will dive deeper...
He will always find something to eat.
O
Bunting - a small bird,
Like a horse, eager for oats.
What will such a small thing eat?
And the horse doesn't want to quarrel.
Ogar swims like a duck,
Searches for food on the ground.
And brave in earnest.
How strong and how brave he is! nine0003
Eagle slowly in the air
Soars. He sees everything on earth.
When the eagle's cry is heard,
The language of all the living goes numb.
P
A handsome peacock, tail like a fan,
Who does not believe in his beauty?
His peacock is majestic,
This peacock walks slowly.
Chiffchaff jumps tirelessly through the trees,
Like a doctor, treats them, collects aphids.
Let the healthy apple tree grow, don't cry.
There is someone to carefully make friends with her.
The quail cries immodestly:
"Time to sleep! It's time to sleep!"
He does not sleep himself. It's enough for him
Putting others to bed.
The penguin lives among the snows,
Where is night, frost and thick ice.
Will lay an egg. And exactly on time
A daughter or a son will be born.
Nuthatch slides along the trunk,
Feet up, head down.
And he will create a house in the spring -
Not everyone will build such a house.
The parrot is brightly colored,
Can even talk.
Maybe someone as a gift
Would like to receive it? nine0003
Kestrel - almost like a falcon,
Only smaller - a falcon.
Near the house, not far away,
Catches a mouse in one throw.
R
Remez - a small builder,
A noble house built his own.
Long entrance - enter it,
Close the door behind you.
The golden plover walks clumsily,
But it flies fast, as all birds need.
In autumn it will set off on the road over the sea.
And in the spring he will return. Wait, soon!
Ryab grouse and spotted grouse,
Anyone can offend him.
In winter hides in a snowdrift
From enemies and from frost.
С
The secretary is a big bird,
A master of running fast.
Takes off only slowly -
Picks up speed for a long time.
Starlings are used to living in the garden.
The birdhouse is a modest gift to them.
All the insects they find,
To the kids in the house. And the garden is happy.
Osprey knows a lot about fish,
She is used to catching fish.
Will dive into the water
And take off. In the claws - prey. nine0003
Tits like to live with people.
Don't count it as work in winter:
Feed them a little,
And in summer they will save the garden.
The bullfinch sparkles with scarlet chest
In the branches of snow-covered trees.
He took out a rowan berry,
He pecked. Quiet. Fell asleep, probably...
An owl is a hunter, sees at night
And smartly catches rodents.
There was a rustle. Mouse? Exactly!
Where to get away from these owls?
Jay - an old thief,
Bird's nest known thief *.
That egg will deftly drag,
Then the chicks are in a hurry to steal.
* thief - thief
Nightingale - a famous singer,
At night, during the day - he always sings.
Will disturb the heart with a song.
If you need to sleep, it won't let you.
Magpie will not miss the news,
Ready to tell everyone.
Here she trumpeted everything before the deadline.
Loquacious, like ... a magpie itself.
Shrike - an evil robber,
Pecks so that oh-oh-oh!
He sings well. Only for birds
These songs make it hard to sleep.
The ostrich rushes quickly,
An ostrich on the run argues with the wind,
But it cannot fly at all.
The wings are barely visible.
Large beak. And the legs too.
The owl is almost a brother to the owl -
He is also happy with the prey,
Just as quickly, just as deftly
He catches a mouse - a vole.
T
Black grouse and huge.
And the grouse's outfit is inconspicuous, modest.
Like winter, a warm house will be built under the snow.
Frosts are not terrible, the hunter will not find.
Hatchet hatchet has been friendly with the sea since childhood,
Dives deep, the fish won't leave.
Will give a rebuff to anyone when it is needed,
The beak of an ax, like an ax, beats.
Wagtail, like a sister,
Helping everyone is a craftswoman:
Quickly runs around the beds,
Who harms them, will catch everyone.
W
Hoopoe flutters over the grass,
Crest proudly spreading his.
But don't try to catch him, -
Hoopoe smells so bad.
Ular will fly off the top in the morning,
Then he goes home all day.
Everything eats something. Not for a minute
He will not stop his way.
Ф
The pheasant, like your cock, is painted,
He is brave and terrible in a fight.
He will protect both honor and home,
Fighting spirit is always with him.
Owl - a thief, a chief robber,
And he can catch an owl.
Fly up silently, smoothly -
And the owl is a predator too.
Flamingo - a fabulous bird
On long legs with a long neck.
How can this bird not be proud -
The world is fascinated by this fairy.
Frigate hovering over the water surface
And the fish is waiting for a long, long time.
She will surface. He was immediately nearby,
grabbed her, and flew again.
X
Stilt - oh, he is long-legged,
No one in the water can compare with him.
Not looking for a ford, walking without roads -
Such an amazing bird.
Gull Gull,
With velvety head.
Always misses the water, -
There is food, there is a home.
C
Heron raises his leg,
Stands on the other leg.
All day as lifeless -
Dozing? Sleeping? Or not sleeping?
H
A seagull proudly cuts the air,
Soars near the shore.
The boundless expanse does not attract, -
Let the sea nearby make noise.
Hobby, like a nimble fighter,
Flutters in the sky, looking for a victim.
Would you like to come to breakfast? –
Moderate flight ardor, moderate.
You won't see lentils,
You don't even have to look.
Who offended her when,
If she hides again?
Chizh loves to sing. And how she sings!
And imitates many birds. nine0005 Chizh loves freedom. But
lives And in a cage, if they suddenly get caught.
Crested Grebe builds a floating house,
Children always swim.
And when you get bored in the nest,
Quickly into the water. There is food.
Ш
Shalashnik builds a solid house,
To live comfortably in it.
Then he will invite a female,
After all, it's so boring to live alone.
Avocet – a large sandpiper,
Long nose curved upwards.
Legs are like your stilts.
And a very short tail.
Щ
The goldfinch is handsome. But how grumpy.
But who wants to be friends with him?
Clever goldfinch. Such a bird!
He likes to fight with others.
A dandy, when he beckons a female,
And then he is no longer a dandy.
Then he will become inconspicuous:
There is a family - why be strict?
Shchur is noticeable in any forest,
He is wearing a crimson vest.
And here is the female in dirty yellow.
She, poor thing, is so embarrassed...
Pied bee-eaters, bright bee-eaters,
No gifts for beekeepers. nine0005 They love bees, bumblebees and wasps.
Pulling out the sting is not a question.
b, b
Hard sign and soft sign
Words change their meaning like!
Only birds on these signs
I haven't met anywhere yet.
S
Chick "Chick!" the gypsy shouts
And menacingly puts the letter Y.
Mute hisses so timidly -
And I writes very softly.
E
Emu is a bird. But
will not be able to fly at least a meter.
There are feathers on the hard skin,
Only there are almost no wings. nine0003
Yu
Yurok is beautiful and bright in spring,
Where did he get a chic tailcoat!
And in autumn - candles and stubs -
So he wore out his jacket.
I
The hawk is a hand-written handsome man,
He is from royalty.
Strength, courage, a look of envy,
Keen eye and fast flight.

Hatched, dry a little
And from the back of parents
Dive right away.

Hidden Tail
The world of birds is limitless.
On the plains and mountains
Hidden Tails live,
They often hide in the bushes.
The crest decorates them,
The eyes are like grains.
The beak is small, and the tail is
Hidden under a long feather.

Woodpecker
Drumming
It's going tuk-tuk-tuk!
A sea of chips on the ground.
Woodpecker nests in a hollow
He lived comfortably during the winter,
Peeled cones in winter.
To hollow out a birch term,
To drink spring juice.

Ostrich
Ostrich rushing through the desert
He is a giant among birds.
Can outrun a car
And flying sisters.
About three meters tall.
Sticks his head in the sand
Will stand and unnoticed
It will go away from fear.

Crane
If you hear
In the sky cooing,
It means cranes
They bring you spring.
Their dances are bizarre
Branches are tossed.
running and spinning
And they beat with wings.
