One day, Danny went to the museum. He wanted to see what was inside. He saw Indians. He saw bears. He saw Eskimos. He saw guns. He saw swords. And he saw… DINOSAURS! Danny loved dinosaurs. He wished he had one. “I’m sorry they’re not real. It would be nice to play with a dinosaur.” “And I think it would be nice to play with you.” “Can you?” “Yes.” “Oh, good! What can we do?” “I can take you for a ride.” “Let’s go!” “Pardon me!” A policeman stared at them. He had never seen a dinosaur stop for a red light. The dinosaur was so tall… …Danny had to hold up the ropes for him. “Look out!” “He thinks you’re a car. Go away, dog. We’re not a car.” “I can make a noise like a car. Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! ” “What big rocks!” “They’re not rocks. They’re buildings!” “I love to climb.” “Watch out!” “Down, boy!” The dinosaur had to be very careful not to knock over houses or stores with his long tail. “Hop on!” “Look!” “All who want to cross the street may walk on my back.” “It’s very nice of you to help me with my bundles.” Danny and the dinosaur went all over town and had lots of fun. “It’s good to take an hour or two off…after a hundred million years!” They even looked at the ball game. “Hit the ball.” “Hit a home run.” “I wish we had a boat.” “Who needs a boat? I can swim.” “Toot, toot!” “Oh, what lovely green grass! I haven’t eaten any of that for a very long time.” “Wait. See what it says?” “Please Keep Off. ” They both had ice cream instead. “Let’s go to the zoo and see the animals.” Everybody came running to see the dinosaur. Nobody stayed to see the lions. Nobody stayed to see the elephants. Nobody stayed to see the monkeys. And nobody stayed to see the seals, giraffes, or hippos either. “Please go away so the animals will get looked at.” “Let’s find my friends.” “OK.” “There they are.” “Why, it’s Danny riding on a dinosaur! Maybe he’ll give us a ride.” “May we have a ride?” “I’d be delighted.” “Hold on tight. Let’s go!” Around and around the block ran the dinosaur, faster and faster and faster. “This is better than a merry-go-round!” “Phew! I’m out of breath!” “Teach him tricks.” Danny taught the dinosaur how to shake hands. “Can you roll over on your back?” “That’s easy.” “He’s smart.” “Let’s play hide-and-seek.” “How do you play it?” “We hide, and you try to find us.” The dinosaur covered his eyes. All the children ran to hide. The dinosaur looked and looked, but he couldn’t find the children. “I give up.” “Here we are!” “Now it’s your turn to hide.” The children covered their eyes. The dinosaur hid behind a house. The children found him. He hid behind a sign. The children found him. He hid behind a big gas tank. The children found him. They found him again, and again, and again. “I guess there’s no place for me to hide!” “Let’s make believe we can’t find him.” “Where can he be?” “Where, oh, where is that dinosaur?” “Where did he go?” “We give up.” “Here I am!” “The dinosaur wins!” “We couldn’t find him!” “He fooled us! Hurrah for the dinosaur! Hurray!” “Well, goodbye, Danny.” “Can’t you come and stay with me? We could have fun.” “No. I’ve had a good time—the best I’ve had in a hundred million years. But now I must get back to the museum. They need me there.” “Oh. Well, goodbye.” Danny watched until the long tail was out of sight. Then he went home alone. “Oh, well. We don’t have room for a pet that size anyway. But we did have a wonderful day.”

Top 20 dinosaur movies

This top of the best films about dinosaurs and monsters like them includes exciting fantasy about the ancient world, spectacular horrors, and family adventure cartoons, but there is at least one reptile in each picture of the list. What could be better than watching a huge prehistoric lizard trample cities and eat humans? All problems seem so small at once. On the other hand, there are several ways to keep your young paleontologists busy for a couple of hours, and to relax yourself - so as not to become fossils ahead of time.
MovieSearch rating: 7.1
IMDb rating: 6.4

Starts top science fiction film dedicated to the Loch Ness monster. This mystical relative of the plesiosaur haunts people, according to legend, since the time of the Romans, and the first written mention of it dates back to the 6th century. For one and a half thousand years, scientists have not found a single evidence of the existence of a mythical creature. All photos and videos that allegedly show a monster are explained either by the movements of water, or by a giant worm more than ten meters in length (a dinosaur is better), or by floating logs or shipwrecks. In general, the scientific community does not believe in Nessie, but cryptozoologists do not leave hopes. This film is a fantasy about the origin of the famous underwater monster, in which Nessie's name is not Nessie at all, but Crusoe.

During World War II, Angus finds an egg on the shore of a Scottish lake and hides it in a barn. Soon, Angus hatches a cute creature that looks like a mixture of a plesiosaur and a giraffe. The newborn monster is named Crusoe. Angus realizes that keeping Crusoe in the barn will not work: the cub needs space and water. So Crusoe moves to the bathroom, and then to Loch Ness. The friendship between Angus and Crusoe helps the former to survive the separation from his father, who has gone to the front, and the latter to survive. But the happiness of children and animals is of little concern to the military, for whom the dinosaur does not look like a cute pet and a kind creature. So while the young plesiosaur proves that not all giant reptiles love human flesh, people once again prove their natural cruelty and show who is the real monster in this world. 8.2

Another six-episode from the BBC. The earliest period shown here is one hundred and fifty million years ago, the latest is again sixty-five. One of the episodes is entirely devoted to feathered dinosaurs, another to perfect late killers like Troodon, and another to giants like the prehistoric crocodile or Argentinosaurus.

In 2012, a remake of this mini-series was released in a movie format that focuses only on predators. The best way to spend time in the company of your favorite lizards.

Dinosaur Invasion

Premiere: 2006
Production: South Korea
Genre: Horrors, Fantastic, Triller
Creator: PROSENTS: PROSENTS: PROSENTS: PROSENTS: 9 "")
KinoPoisk rating: 6.5
IMDb rating: 7.1

The recently legendary South Korean director, as it turned out, is also a bit of a paleontologist at heart. Although in fact there is no classic dinosaur in this film, but the political subtext is unambiguous. The film's opening scene, in which the US military orders a toxic substance to be poured into a river, is based on a true story, and the rest of the movie makes the Korean government look bad.

Plot: Toxic waste in the river has led to the appearance of an aggressive monster. Outwardly, this is a mutant, similar to the bastard demogorgon and chameleon from Rapunzel. Moreover, the character of the little animal definitely went to the first. The monster devours one member of the extras after another, and then switches to the family members of the protagonist - a forty-year-old man with dementia. But Pong Joon-ho did not stop at these dramatic notes and added to the script a virus that spreads the creature, and a lobotomy that leads to unexpected consequences, and the epic throwing of a monster with a Molotov cocktail, and the Korean Katniss Everdeen. Great attraction for spectators.

The tape was noted for two nominations for the Saturn Award (Best Young Actor and Best Foreign Language Film).

IMDb Rating: 8.1

One of the highest-grossing films in history and one of NASA's most credible sci-fi films. And, obviously, one of the most recognizable films in this top.

Scientists have figured out how to grow dinosaurs using genetic engineering, ancient mosquitoes and frogs. The composition of the product is questionable, but competent marketing can work wonders. For reptiles recreated in laboratories, a tourist park is created and a special group is invited to inspect it.

The creator of the park, his two grandchildren, three scientists and a lawyer go on a road trip through the world of dinosaurs. Scientists immediately warn the adventurous creator that the resurrection of huge reptiles is a dangerous and stupid undertaking. Nature cannot be restrained by some kind of fences, especially when the park staff is not distinguished by decency. As a result, a harmless safari on a picturesque island turns into a manhunt. The best dinoattraction of cinema, which received as many as three Oscars: for the best sound, best sound editing and best special effects.

Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World

Premiere: 1997
Production: USA
Genre: Adventures, science fiction, militant
DEMOLARA: Speean spilberg ("Dyn ”)
Screenplay: David Koepp (Spider-Man), Michael Crichton (Westworld)
Cast: Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn
MovieSearch Rating: 7
IMDb Rating: 6.6

In the sequel, it turns out that the abandoned dinosaurs did not die out in paradise conditions and successfully continue to breed. We have to go to the island again, though already to the neighboring one - the fantastic creatures decided to expand the places where they live. By the way, the first part of the adventure does not teach the human heroes anything: both women and children will again drop by for lunch at the huge reptiles. Yes, okay - the main thing is that the lizards eat. Sam Neill, William H. Macy, Tea Leoni, Trevor Morgan

A lot has changed in the third installment of the franchise. First, Spielberg left. Secondly, unlike the older brothers, this film is not based on a book by American science fiction writer Michael Crichton. Third, Sam Neill returned as Alan Grant. And finally, a new villain: the tyrannosaurus was removed from its pedestal.

There are few changes in the plot. The location of the second film is preserved, and the returned Alan Grant is sent to the wild world of dinosaurs with a research expedition. The trip is financed by parents whose son is lost somewhere on the island. So the kids will play the hunger games again. The ratings of the film have dropped significantly compared to the previous parts, but there is still something to watch. At least for a powerful fight between spino and tyrannosaurus rex, it's practically Khabib vs. McGregor in the world of reptiles.
MovieSearch rating: 6.9
IMDb rating: 7

The Spielberg franchise has been alive for almost three decades. Five years ago, the fourth film in the universe with a title shortened by one letter was released, and the sixth Jurassic period is planned soon. By the way, while everyone is wondering if the second "Avatar" will be able to destroy Tony Stark's team at the box office, remember that "Jurassic World" takes an honorable sixth place in the top of the highest grossing cinema films.

The creator of the park died a long time ago and handed over the company to a businessman who understands that in twenty years the dinosaurs on a secluded island have managed to get fed up with everyone. Therefore, the marketing geniuses changed the name to a shorter one, stuffed the reserve with high-tech toys and, most importantly, brought out a new kind of dinosaurs. The Indominus Rex is the superboss of his world, and he doesn't even need any artifacts to break anyone and everything in his path with ease. Such entertainment attracts tourists to the renovated park, and the lizards again prove that the resurrected ancient power cannot be kept by any progress.

Trailer:

Godzilla

Premiere: 2014
Production: USA, Japan
Genre: Fiction, Triller
Director: GAREN
Screenplay: Max Borenstein ("Kong: Skull Island")
Cast: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston
MovieSearch Rating: 6.1
IMDb Rating: 6.4

If there is a movie in this top that is more famous than films from the Spielberg universe, then here it is. A crocodile-like prehistoric lizard awakened by the H-bomb tests has mutated and set off to destroy Tokyo. For the first time this kaiju, in whose name the Japanese words "whale" and "gorilla" are crossed, appeared on the screens in the 50s, and since then more than thirty films (mostly Japanese) have been shot about Godzilla. And that's not counting cartoons, comics and anime.

The tape, which will be discussed now, opened the second American reboot of the original franchise. Many stars starred here (the 2017 sequel also features Mili Bobby Brown and Vera Farmiga; and the 2017 Kong, which also became part of the new series, generally gathered a whole team of guys from Marvel: Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and Bree Larson), and the ratings of the film are not colored in red - so this particular film about Godzilla will be in this top. By the way, it was dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of the first film about this ancient creature.

Plot: A new kaiju is announced on earth who loves to feast on radiation. The monster easily destroys fighter jets, warships and any army units, while having time to gnaw on Russian nuclear missiles as a lunch. The world is powerless against this threat, but Godzilla emerges from the ocean just in time. The lizard pursues a radioactive-addicted kaiju with the express intention of once again becoming the only giant monster on the planet. But the defender of humanity will have an unpleasant surprise: his opponent will not fight alone.

Trailer:

Why the legendary king of monsters suddenly became a kind watchdog is not explained: perhaps the kaiju just got old and got used to homo-not-too-sapiens like a grouchy neighbor pensioner. But whatever the nature of this new-old Godzilla, his appearance in this film left even old-time fans satisfied.

Lost World

th year of the premiere: 2001
Production: Great Britain, USA, Germany
Genre: Adventures, Fiction, Drama
9001 901
STARIAR ORM (“GROWING”) Screenplay: Adrian Hodges ("7 Days and Nights with Marilyn")
Cast: Bob Hoskins, James Fox, Tom Ward, Matthew Reese
Movie Search Rating: 7
0600 6.6

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Arthur Conan Doyle, but there will be no Sherlock Holmes. The film was made for TV, not the big screen, and received BAFTA and Emmy nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound. The plot, however, is not too original: a fanatic professor with a speaking surname Challenger wants to prove to the scientific community that there is a miracle island in the Amazon jungle where dinosaurs live. The professor recruits a team and sets off on a journey full of dangers, adventures, discoveries and, of course, prehistoric lizards.

The highlight of the film is the visual effects. The creators used the technology that they used to create Walking with Dinosaurs, so the dinosaurs look very dignified here.

Trailer:

By the way, there is another film with the same name, but 2009. Will Ferrell starred in this action-adventure comedy, and it also features dinosaurs. And also time travel, super-intelligent primate and various fantastic creatures.

Adele's Extraordinary Adventures

Premiere: 2010 Production: France, USA
Genre: Fantasy, militant, Detective, Adventure Creator: "Fifth Files" "" "Nikita")
Starring: Louis Bourgoin
MovieSearch Rating: 6. 3
IMDb Rating: 6.3

Ambitious journalist Adele goes on an expedition to Egypt at the beginning of the 20th century. The girl is not going to write about pyramids and national cuisine: her goal is to revive the mummy of an ancient healer in order to save her sister's life. But while Adele was choking on sand and riding camels, Professor Esperandier, whose help the journalist really counted on, ended up behind bars. The government did not like the experiments of a scientist medium, which led to the birth of a real pterodactyl from a fossilized egg. The winged archosaur quickly adapted to the new living conditions and quickly realized that noisy bipeds are a great snack. In general, now, in order to revive her new long-dead friend, Adele will have to pretend to be a lawyer, a nurse, a nun and a security guard. And these are not role-playing games, but desperate attempts to organize the medium's escape from prison.

The film is based on the comic book and Luc Besson emphasized this as well as he could. Sometimes the grotesque characters of the characters, bright costumes, make-up and saturation of the picture resemble the fabulous films of Wes Anderson, but unlike the latter, fantastic things really happen in the plot. However, this movie was compared with the works of Tim Burton, with "Indiana", "Adele", "The Mummy" and "Jurassic Park". There were even mentions of Tarantino's gangster chaos and the lyrics of Titanic. All this says only one thing: this film is like no other, and it is worth watching.

Trailer:

The Land Before Time

Premiere: 1988
Production: USA, Ireland
Genre: Family cartoon, adventure, adventure, “Contractor, Creator: Creator: Creator: Creator: paradise")
KinoPoisk rating: 8
IMDb rating: 7.4

One of the best cartoons about dinosaurs, which has an instructive plot, cute characters, and about ten detailed species of ancient reptiles. This tape is designed in the spirit of Walt Disney (although it had nothing to do with it): a little dinosaur's mother dies, he is cut off from other relatives and goes on a dangerous journey with friends in search of a new home. Baby Bambi comes to mind not by chance: Steven Spielberg, who participated in the creation of the cartoon and washed down his "Park" a little later, wanted "The Land Before Time" to be a prehistoric version of the famous deer story.

Of the dinosaurs in the cartoon, there is an apatosaurus (with a long neck and a long tail), a triceratops (a three-horned rhinoceros), a saurolophus (a duck-billed one-horned and on two legs) and a stegosaurus (a long-tailed and arched spiked back). And from the air they are covered by a small charming pterodactyl. And that's just the main characters. By the way, they are all vegetarians, but the classic villain of the genre, the hungry tyrannosaurus rex, will hunt them.

Trailer:

The second main character is the predator Patch. His relatives do not change their place of residence, but their food is actively leaving their familiar environment, so toothy reptiles will also have to starve and arrange fierce fights for every piece of meat. And this is in conditions of constant darkness and cold.

It is difficult to call this animated encyclopedia a cartoon: the dinosaurs here look very realistic, the creators brought their behavior and appearance closer to the requirements of the popular science genre than to a children's cartoon. So the 12+ rating is quite justified: in the world of these reptiles, the strongest survive, and there is no time to suffer for the losers.

In the third part of the saga about the mammoth Manny and his friends, the heroes have to pull the sloth Sid out of trouble again. And this time, the characters will not have to freeze: a pathologically clumsy sloth managed to get into the underworld of the jungle, inhabited by huge reptiles. And, of course, Sid is not nailed to a flock of herbivorous stegosaurs, but ends up in the paws of a female T-rex.

  • A whole alternative universe is built in the cartoon: the asteroid did not fall to Earth, the dinosaurs did not die out, but on the contrary, they evolved. Many lead a farming lifestyle, building their homes and growing crops. The dinosaur Arlo suffers greatly in the shadow of the success of his brother and sister, nothing comes of the hero, and the disappointment of his parents develops serious complexes in the green long-necked.
