hobby development

Board games.

Confusion. Search for matches.

The final jar of the children's series from Hobby World has been left on the shelf in the closet. All these metal containers aroused genuine interest among our friends, who gradually took the bright boxes to their homes. In my opinion, the success of the sets lies in the compact size of the package, similar to a jar of lollipops, as well as in the simple rules and fun gameplay. The next "table" is no exception. Today on the Pink sofa is the search-and-match board game "Confusion".

Mechanics based on matching features and finding matches (or differences) are a real cornucopia for developers of board games for children. From time immemorial, magazines for young readers were full of paired illustrations, in which it was necessary to find the number of differences indicated in the task. These simple puzzles enjoyed constant success not only among children, but also among adults.

And then someone's wise head introduced a similar principle into a card game, creating a hit for children's games. Similar tasks (only to identify matches) you have to solve in "Confusion" ...

Inside the container is a stack of double-sided round picture cards and a sheet with the rules of the game. The jar can easily be reduced in height by half, this will make it even prettier.

Blue and yellow backgrounds are used for the same rules of the game, and are only intended to diversify the games: choose the desired color and use this side.

However, opposites are united by a single picture, which is present on both sides of the circle. The photo of the card above is proof of this (coin).

The main feature of all the cards is that one of the objects coincides on any two circles. This is what the gameplay is based on. By the way, the publisher offers three versions of the rules that you can add your own, since the simple mechanics allows you to do this. Well, it's time to start!

He who seeks may find

Shuffle the deck, put it in the center of the table. On command, one of the players removes the top card, turns it over, and everyone (simultaneously) starts searching for the object present on the two circles. The first one to find a match takes the removed card as a prize and opens a new one. And so on, until the deck runs out. The winner, according to tradition, is the player who has collected the most rounds.

You can slightly change the rules, making the gameplay more dynamic and intense: divide the deck equally between the participants (or use the recommendations set out in the rules), put the starting card in the center. Objective: To be the first to get rid of the personal deck by finding matches and discarding cards to the central pile, thereby changing the criteria for the subsequent search.

The third option poses a similar task, only it is necessary to look for matches on both sides of the same card from the personal pile. Found?! Then drop the round to the center and continue to perform the same steps, but with a new card.
