This Night Time Routine Checklist will change everything! Use the chart with kids from toddlers to teens to establish strong bedtime habits.

Do you dread putting your kids to bed every night? Is it a terribly slow and painful process? Do you constantly have to nag them to move from one task to the next?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, or if you’d like your child to start being more independent with their existing routine, we have a great tool for you to try.

Our free printable Bedtime Routine Chart will help your child establish a strong natural routine before they go to bed. Not only will it reduce the hand holding and time spent getting them tucked in for the night, but it will give them a sense of accomplishment, and having this structured routine will ultimately result in them falling asleep faster too.

This free checklist is completely customizable to your family’s night time routine, and visually shows your child what tasks they need to do next.

Your kids can easily stay on track, and work towards completing their chart by themselves. This will relieve a lot of stress for you both, and help set-up a more relaxed, calming environment that leads to sleep!

WHAT YOU GET (FOR FREE!)

The Bedtime Routine Printable includes everything you see here: the chart template that you’ll use to build your child’s routine, plus the task cards.

The chart comes in two colors (purple and aqua), and 2 sizes. You can choose from the regular Letter size (8.5″ x 11”) that’s easy to print at home, or opt for the larger Ledger size (11” x 17”) that some at-home printers can handle, or can be uploaded to an online printing service.

There are over 20 task cards that include the most common night time tasks like getting on pajamas, brushing teeth, washing up and picking clothes for the next day.

We’ve also included lots of blank task cards so you can add anything you’d like to create a customized night time routine for each child.

HOW IT WORKS

First, you’ll need to grab the free printable – simply fill in your email below and we’ll send an easy-to-print PDF copy straight to your inbox:

Print the chart color your child prefers + all of the task cards. We recommend printing on a thicker stock paper so it can handle some wear ‘n’ tear. Alternatively, if you have one of these handy laminators, you could laminate the chart and cards!

For the next step you’ll need these Velcro stickers. Attach one side to the task card, and one side to the chart. Just make sure that you don’t mix and match the sides (ie. the “hook” side should always be on the chart, and the “furry” side should always be on the cards) so you can easily move the cards around.

Now you can start building your child’s night time routine on the “To Do” side.

Place the cards in order so they can quickly transition from one task to the next. If you need more spaces for tasks, we’ve included a 2nd chart that you can stack below.

Instruct your child to move the task card from the “To Do” side, to the “Done” side once they have completed it.

And once all the cards are on the “Done” side, tuck them in and congratulate them for completing their bedtime routine!

The more they complete the tasks, the easier they will become, until one day, they won’t need the chart at all! It will just have become their established routine.

If you haven’t already downloaded the template, add your email to the box below and we’ll send it to you right away:

A restful and relaxing night's sleep is essential for a child's growth and healthy development - and it's important for mom and dad too.

In addition to soothing sleep routines and an inviting sleep environment, filling and easily digestible dinners that are not heavy on the stomach are also important for falling asleep easily and sleeping through the night. It goes without saying that the porridge fed to the child before bedtime should not contain sugar. nine0003

After 4-6 months, according to the recommendations of the Infant Nutrition Research Institute, milk should be given along with complementary foods. Many parents have the same question: what is the best cereal for a good night's sleep?

What is easy to digest, fills and stays in the stomach for a long time and therefore allows the child to get a relaxing night's sleep?

Milk-cereal porridge is a traditional and tried-and-tested choice for the evening. Milk contains items, particularly nutritious, easily digestible proteins. Delicate cereal flakes are a source of energy. With nutritious flakes, it is guaranteed that the body will have energy for a longer period of time. Thus, your child will sleep peacefully without being awakened from hunger. nine0003

This is the best way to end the day and start a relaxing night:

Pay attention to your child's signals. By the evening meal they should not be so tired that they will almost fall asleep during the meal. In order not to be restless at night, your child should have enough time to eat enough to feel full. Let the day end peacefully and plan to spend some time cuddling so your little one can relax naturally. nine0003

What nighttime cereals are available at HiPP?

Just what moms want: HiPP has developed an evening meal, "Good Night" organic milk porridge to mix. Baby-friendly milk will provide your baby with just the right amount of high-quality protein, while gentle, nutritious flakes ensure long-term satiety.

Sweet dreams don't need sugar. That's why HiPP decided not to use sugar at all. We only used ingredients that moms would also use - plus selected vitamins and calcium, as mandated by strict guidelines for baby milk cereals. nine0003

Tip: HiPP Good Night Paps without added sugar can be delicious mixed with HiPP Fruit if you like because they also have no added sugar.

Very important: don't forget to brush your teeth before going to bed. We have collected many important tips for dental protection and dental care here.

An evening meal should be easy to digest...

What parents don't dream of a peacefully sleeping child. After all, calm and deep sleep is important for the growth of the child and for his healthy development, and it is no less important for moms and dads.

In order for the baby to fall asleep easily and sleep peacefully all night, along with soothing evening rituals and the right environment during sleep, a hearty and well-digested evening meal, which does not create a feeling of heaviness in a small tummy, plays an important role. It goes without saying that evening porridge should be without added sugar. nine0003

What kind of food is easy to digest, satiates well and for a long time, providing a calm and deep sleep for a child?

Milk-cereal porridge has proven itself well for evening feeding. The milk contained in the porridge provides a particularly valuable, easily digestible protein. Delicate cereal flakes fill the body with energy. Whole grain flakes make sure that this energy is stored in the body for a long time. Thanks to this, the baby, as a rule, snores peacefully, and the feeling of hunger does not bother him. nine0003

Which Good Night porridges does HiPP offer?

Taking into account the wishes of mothers, HiPP has developed a line of milk desserts in jars "Good night".
