Neckline: we call it right - BurdaStyle.ru
There are a variety of necklines in clothes, and they all have their own name. Let's understand the terminology.
Author of article
Anna Soboleva
The neckline plays a big role in the product - because it emphasizes the shape of the face, neck, décolleté and shoulders of a woman, balances individual characteristics with the style of clothing. For example, a round face is well framed by a deep neckline with a gently curved line.
Cutouts can create mood and style of clothing. Some look sexy, others, on the contrary, emphasize modesty.
Cutouts and their variations
Designers use a variety of cutouts and their variations when creating models. The style of the cutout greatly affects the look of the entire product; it can be both a bright accent and the main decorative detail.
Consider the main types of cutouts and their names.
1. V-neck
This is one of the most popular cutouts. Almost all fabrics are suitable for this classic neckline. It is applicable to many garments.
2. Insert
The insert is a variation of the V-neck. It has more depth, but at the same time it looks rather modest.
3. Neckline
This is a very feminine neckline, best suited for tops and dresses.
4. Curly "Kare"
It also opens up the décolleté area. The combination of V-neckline and "square" emphasizes the neck and shoulder area.
5. "Kare"
A square cut is suitable for almost all types of fabrics.
6. U-cut
A kind of "square" cutout, the main difference is rounded corners. This is a universal form, such a neckline suits almost everyone.
7. Round
Simple classic cut. Like a square, it can be made from many fabrics.
8. Boat
Slightly opens up the shoulder area.
9. "Envelope"
This neckline has a detail covering the shoulders.
10. Slit
Closed neckline: it hides the neckline, but at the same time opens the shoulders a little. Forms a straight line passing directly along the shoulders and collarbones.
11. Deep round
Cutout with curved line. The line crosses the neck area and descends in front.
12. Horseshoe
Beautifully and gracefully emphasizes the décolleté and neck areas.
13. Keyhole
Looks great on sportswear and casual wear. Made from more dressy fabrics, this neckline is a very feminine and sexy addition to evening wear.
14. Drawstring
Mostly used in home and sportswear. Easy to make from any fabric.
15. Ruffled
By varying the width and density of the frill, you can get different options for this neckline. It also looks good on knitwear.
16. Clamp
Due to the beautifully draped fabric, this neckline can be used not only in casual wear, but also in evening dresses - made of expensive materials, it will give a luxurious look to a dress, blouse or top. He is erotic, but not too frank.
17. Funnel
Stylish neckline, created by pulling a regular neckline.
18. "Loop"
This neckline replaces the straps with a narrow strip of fabric that wraps around the back of the neck. Most suitable for spring and summer clothes.

The most daring trend: where to look for things with cutouts (and what to wear them with)
Fashion is always a field for experimentation and an opportunity to play with different looks. Even if you are a fan of the minimalist and utilitarian style, sometimes you still need to allow yourself to move away from ordinary combinations and try on something completely new. Take, for example, one of the biggest trends of the year - cutouts or cutouts, which are the perfect balance of boldness and femininity. In many cases, cleavage and bold cuts on the leg are unacceptable, but small open areas look captivating and at the same time appropriate for both a work wardrobe and a date.

Cutouts have been trending for a long time - we remember them from the 2010s red carpet many successful trends : 10 reasons why the 2010s is the worst time in fashion history). We like the fresh interpretation of the trend a lot more - it's a great way to get naked if you don't want to look too revealing. Therefore, if ten years ago you nevertheless bypassed this trend, we advise you to give it a second chance now - you will definitely not be disappointed.

Halle Berry in 2011
Last year, designers boldly revived the trends of the 2000s and 2010s and made them more modern and suitable for new realities. This time around, the brands have opted for neutral tones and simple fabrics, making scalloped cutouts the main focus of the outfit. Chloé experimented with the trend most of all, presenting intricate geometric details on tops, as well as trendsetters Khaite and Brandon Maxwell.
