CASE CX490C demolition excavator. Operating experience in the company "Konstruktiv-SD"
Dismantling of buildings takes place in cramped conditions of the city, this is a complex production process. Whether using hydraulic shears or a hydraulic hammer, the CASE CX490C demolition excavator gets the job done even in these tight spaces. Inside the cab, two monitors are installed at once: one of them provides an overview of the working area of the excavator. The second one displays the area of work of the scissors, which is located behind the direct vision of the operator. By purchasing a demolition excavator with two sets of booms, our partner, one of the leaders in the industry of professional dismantling of buildings and structures, received "four in one":
- high-rise demolition destroyer
- destroyer for the lower level;
- excavator with a bucket for the destroyed material;
- as well as a machine for working with a hydraulic hammer.
Joint-Stock Company "Partner" is engaged in the construction of roads, the production of asphalt-concrete mixtures and crushed granite in one of the most severe regions of Russia - the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Temperature fluctuations here reach -50°C in winter and +35°C in summer, such conditions require stamina from people, and reliability from technology. The company's park employs: crawler excavators CX470B, CX290B, CX210B, 621F Wheel Loader, 865B AWD Grader, 1650M LGP Bulldozer, SV250 Skid Steer Loader. In our video, the company's management, operators and service staff share their impressions of the operation of CASE Construction Equipment.

Excavator Video Surveillance
Mount excavator video surveillance to solve the most important task of improving the operator's visibility, allowing to spend less time on manipulations and reduce accidents. In addition, the video recording system makes it possible to track all the actions of an employee, controlling his work, as well as analyzing the correctness of the decisions made.
Our specialists can install video surveillance on any type of excavator, equipping it with a secure camera system, recorder, monitor and other equipment. Prices for equipping equipment with video fixation systems in our company are quite affordable, and the quality of installation work is strictly controlled.
Why do you need video surveillance on an excavator?
Excavators (along with other construction equipment) are used to perform complex and time-consuming work. At the same time, the larger dimensions complicate various manipulations, especially in conditions of a shortage of free space. The high qualification of the operator allows to solve this problem, but only partially.
To reduce the number of emergency situations, reduce accidents and increase the productivity of the excavator, it is equipped with several cameras. Video cameras are placed on the excavator so that the operator does not have “blind spots”. Thanks to the surveillance system, he can control the equipment, guided by the image on the monitor, no need to lean out of the cab or involve assistants to control movements in areas with poor visibility.
In addition:
- The very fact of fixing the view disciplines the excavator operator - he more often refrains from risky maneuvers and manipulations.
- Recorded video allows you to control the work of staff.
- Video recording from the registrar can be used as the main source of information in the investigation of accidents and other emergencies.

What equipment is used for video recording on an excavator?
The organization of effective video surveillance on an excavator is complicated by the fact that such equipment works in difficult conditions. The case, as well as the equipment installed outside, are exposed to mechanical stress, as well as to the effects of dust, moisture, and vibrations. All this affects the requirements for the equipment that is used to capture the video.
Mounted on excavators:
- Dome cameras in shock-resistant housings protected by casings with low moisture and dust permeability. It is advisable to choose models with IR illumination - they allow you to record video even in poor lighting conditions.
- Video recorders for processing data from cameras and storing them. The more video cameras are mounted on the equipment, the more channels the registrar should have.
- Monitors with a sufficiently large diagonal, good brightness and anti-reflective coating. All these requirements are important for obtaining a high-contrast image that is clearly visible even in bright sunlight.
In addition, an internal camera with a microphone can be optionally installed in the cab to monitor the operator's actions.

Installation of video surveillance for excavators
Specialists of our company design and install video surveillance systems for excavators or other heavy equipment in St. Petersburg. We:
- We determine the places for installing video cameras for the best view - they may differ for different models.
- We form a set of equipment (it is possible to use ready-made solutions).
- We remove cameras, recorders and monitors by connecting them with armored protected cables.
After installation, the system must be configured and tested. For more efficient use of video surveillance, we train the dispatcher / operator to work with the installed equipment.
