Lots Of Yellow - sung to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"

We wear lots of yellow things
Hear us name them as we sing:
Yellow shirts and yellow shoes,
Yellow pants with pockets, too."
We wear lots of yellow things.
Hear us name them as we sing.

What is Yellow?

On a piece of yellow felt, write 'What is Yellow?'. Place this at the top of your flannel board. Cut flannel board shapes from yellow felt. You will need a shirt, a school bus, a dog, and a banana. Distribute the shapes among your children, then read the following rhyme. With each verse, have the child who is holding the appropriate item place it on the board.

What is Yellow?

What is yellow?
A yellow shirt-
On my friend playing in the dirt.

What is yellow?
A yellow school bus
Taking the children to school without a fuss.

What is yellow?
My big dog, Jones
Digging in the yard for big old bones.

What is yellow?
A banana that's sweet
Take off the peel and its ready to eat.

Three Little Ducks That I Once Knew (Traditional Tune)

Three little ducks that I once knew.
A fat one, a skinny one, a yellow one too.
But the one little duck with a feather on his back.
He ruled the others with his quack, quack, quack!

Down to the meadow, they would go.
Wibble-wobble, wibble-wobble to and fro.
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back.
He ruled the others with his quack, quack, quack!
He ruled the others with his quack, quack, quack!

Yellow Balloons - sung to "Are You Sleeping?"

Yellow balloons, yellow balloons
Floating up, floating up
Never let them touch the ground
Never let them touch the ground
Keep them up, keep them up

Banana Song - sung to "Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be"

Smell, smell, smell a banana.
Sweet, sweet, sweet is banana.
See, see, see my banana.

My yellow banana is there
See, see, see it is yellow.
Long, long, yellow banana
Smell, smell, smell a banana.
Sweet, sweet, sweet is banana.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Yellow Star...

Twinkle, twinkle, yellow star,
How I wonder what you are.
Let's go looking here and there,
Let's go looking everywhere.
Twinkle, twinkle, yellow star,
How I wonder where you are.

Yellow - poem

Yellow is a star.
Yellow is the sun.
Yellow is the moon,
When the day is done.

Sing A Song of Yellow

Line a tray with yellow construction paper. Arrange an assortment of yellow items on the tray. These might include interlocking blocks, crayons, markers, pompoms and buttons. Have each of your children choose an item to hold while singing the following song.

Sing A Song of Yellow - sung to "Sing A Song of Sixpence"

Sing a song of yellow,
Sunshine and crayons, too.
Daffodils are yellow
When they are in bloom.
Buttons, yellow yarn,
And yellow on a shoe.
You show me some yellow,
And I'll show some to you.

Oh Mr. Sun

Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree...
These little children
Are asking you
To please come out
So we can play with you
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on..
Please shine down on...
Please shine down on me!

6 Little Ducks

Six little ducks that I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, Quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Down to the river, they would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble, to and fro

You Are My Sunshine

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You never know dear
How much I love you
So please don't take my sunshine away

Yellow Stars - sung to "I've been working on the Railroad"

Yellow stars are shining brightly,
in the nighttime sky.
Yellow stars are shining brightly,
Just watch as they sail by.
You can make a wish upon them,
And it might come true.
Way up in the sky above us,
The stars shine for you.

Theme Ideas

This month you can have a "Yellow Day", where you wear yellow, eat yellow foods, do lots of things outside in the sun. Have lots of arts and crafts that involve the color yellow, or yellow items. You can do these things all in one day, or split them up so that you can do one thing each day. You can also play games that involve yellow: Count yellow counters, name as many things that are yellow as you can, plant yellow flowers, and many many more.

Flower Power

Bring a variety of real flowers. (Sometimes a florist will donate older, wilting flowers.) Give each of your children a small square of yellow construction paper and one or more flowers to examine. Help them identify the paper's color as yellow and ask if they can find yellow somewhere in their flowers. Discuss and compare their findings. Put the flowers in a vase and display them in the classroom for everyone to enjoy.

Thinking About Yellow

At art time, help your children make hats from yellow construction paper. Have them wear their hats at circle time, and wear one yourself. Discuss the hats' yellow color. Tell the children that they are wearing thinking hats. Ask them to think of things that are yellow. Let each child, in turn, name a yellow thing. If a child has trouble naming something that is yellow, ask the group to help.

Surround Yourself in Yellow

You could surround yourself in yellow things like Paint a room yellow, Buy yellow clothes, towels, or little things around the house.

For any color day:

1) Make Vanilla pudding and add food coloring of the color you want.
2) Make Jell-O in the color you want and even add some fruit of that color.
3) Kool-Aid Art - Sprinkle Kool-Aid powder of the desired color on a large piece of white paper. Use Spray bottles to spray the KoolAid with water. It makes some very interesting artwork that smells good, too!!!!!
4) Fingerpaint with the color you are "studying."
5) Fill the water table and add food coloring of the desired color and toys of the desired color.
6) Make some colored water using food coloring and freeze it in ice trays the day or night before. Then, Put them on trays or in the water table and watch them melt to make colored water. If you use different colored ice cubes, the colors will mix to make new colors.

These are some things I do in my preschool special needs classroom!!!!

Learning colors. Yellow day.

I recently stumbled upon an idea in some women's parenting magazine about learning colors more effectively. It is possible for a child to arrange a "color day", during which the child is surrounded by one color as much as possible and talk more about it. I think the idea is very interesting. I offer some more specific ideas on how such a day can be spent.

So,

Day1. Learning yellow.

1) Feeding.

During the day, you can offer your child yellow or yellow-decorated food. It can be: cheese, bananas, eggs, corn, pasta, millet porridge, yellow pear apples. If possible, feed from yellow dishes or a yellow spoon.

2) Walk.

Dress your child and yourself in something yellow, take yellow toys - a bucket, spatula, cars or whatever else you take for a walk. On a walk, pay special attention to yellow things, invite your child to look for something yellow on the street (yellow leaves, cars, kiosks, clothes of passers-by, etc. ).

3) Games at home.

Color yellow suitable coloring pages - ducklings, bananas, sun and everything else you can think of.

Sculpt the same ducklings, bananas, lemon, kolobok, sun from yellow plasticine.

Again, choose yellow toys, inflate yellow balloons, stick yellow stickers.

4) Rest.

Tell a story about the color yellow:

YELLOW RAINBOW

The sun's rays flew by through the yellow arc and fell into the meadow. Golden dandelions bloomed in the meadow. One yellow beam noticed a hen, which was hatching in a meadow in a nest of chickens. The ray touched the largest egg with a sharp end, it cracked, and a fluffy chicken appeared. A beam of golden paint splashed on him, and the chicken turned yellow.

The sunbeam laughed and said to the chicken:

— You and I are yellow friends. Come for a walk with me!

"He can't leave until the other babies have hatched," the mother hen cackled.

- Then I'll stay with you and help you warm your testicles, - the ray suggested.

When all the chicks hatched and the ray painted them yellow, the mother hen took the children for a walk. Unexpectedly, the path of a friendly company was blocked by Purr's cat.

- How yellow you are, it even dazzles in your eyes! he meowed derisively.

- I painted them with yellow paint, and they are all children of the sun and the rainbow, - the ray proudly answered.

- So that's who stole the yellow paint from the rainbow, - the cat laughed.

- Everyone looked at the sky and saw that the yellow arc of the rainbow had disappeared.

- Wee-wee - what to do, mom? the chickens were excited.

- Do not worry, children, grow up and return the yellow paint to the rainbow, - the chicken answered.

- And we will return the yellow paint to the rainbow, - dandelions nodded their heads.

- And I'll take her back to the sky - added the beam.

Soon, white chickens were walking on a green meadow among white fluffy dandelions, and a yellow arc appeared at the rainbow again.

Watch the cartoon Happy Rainbow. Yellow.

Make a snack:

Yellow song (physical minute)
The yellow sun looks at the earth,
(Hands up, stretched, raised their eyes up.)
Yellow sunflower follows the sun.
(Swing arms left and right.)
Yellow pears hang on the branches.
(Shake hands down.)
Yellow leaves fly from trees.
(Swing arms sideways-up-down.)
Yellow butterfly, yellow bug.
Yellow buttercups, yellow chamomile.
(Squats.)
Yellow sun, yellow sand,
Yellow color of joy, rejoice, my friend.
(Jumping in place.)

Tell a rhyme:

Hello, yellow dandelion,
Hello, golden sun,
You fly like a bright ball,
Above my head.
and chickens, and ducklings,
and lemons, and bananas,
and Chinese guys,
and sand velvens
The world will be filled with yellow color,
0 .
Laugh more cheerfully in summer
All the girls in yellow dresses!

5) To decorate the apartment, I offer a selection of yellow pictures that can be hung on the walls.

Audio recordings: Vivaldi "Spring", "Spring dance", "Spring-red".

Course of the lesson:

Greeting game "Our smart heads"

What our today's lesson will tell you about pictures and music. Watch and listen.

Looking at pictures and listening to music (Vivaldi's "Spring")

What do these pictures tell about? That spring has come. And the music told us about spring. What is spring, what did it bring us? We'll figure out.

In spring it becomes warm, the last snow melts, streams run.

Didactic game "Change the Doll"

It was winter and people wore warm clothes. Dress the doll in warm winter clothes. Now it has become warm and such clothes are no longer needed. We need other clothes. Choose clothes that are suitable for spring and dress the doll in them.

Drawing with paints “Streams run”

Pick up brushes, dip first in water, then in blue paint. Now draw straight horizontal lines from the snow - the snow has melted and turned into streams.

The first flowers bloom in spring.

Watching the blossoming branch of an apricot tree

Look at this branch. This is a branch of an apricot tree. Now it has flowers. Smell the smell of these flowers with your nose. Do you like this scent? By the end of spring, green apricots will appear in place of the flowers. And in the summer apricots will ripen, become yellow, tasty, and then we will eat them.

Blossom Tree Application

Children glue flowers cut out of napkins to the litu-background with the image of a branch.

Didactic exercise "What first, what then"

Look at the pictures. At first, the apricot blossomed, flowers bloomed on its branches. Show me such a picture. Then small green apricots grew on the branches instead of flowers. Show this picture. And then the apricots ripened and became big and yellow. Show this picture. Now put the pictures in order - what happened first, and what happens next.

Dance "Spring Dance"

Children perform movements according to the text of the song.

Spring Flowers Button Game

Find a place for the buttons on the flower picture. Choose buttons by color and size.

Modeling "Violets"

From green salt dough, children mold a thick sausage by direct rolling. Violet flowers cut from a purple egg cell are pressed into it. A ball is rolled out of yellow plasticine in a circular motion and the middle of the flower is made from it.

In the spring it often rains and waters the ground.
