The little reader intuitively feels a sincere person and a talented teacher who teaches, but does not instruct, unobtrusively and cheerfully conveys his life experience, gently and kindly sets new tasks for the child: to understand and feel the music of rhyme. The life of Agnia Barto

Agnia Barto did not like to tell the story of her own life. At that time and in that country, she had reasons for this. The writer was born into a far from poor family, which could afford to teach children French, to arrange magnificent receptions. For revolutionary-minded Russia, this bourgeois way of life was like a bone in the throat. Little Agnia was taught by her father to read from Tolstoy's children's books. The mother did not pay attention to the girl, the father was always closer to the future writer.

The Agnes prepared the ballerina's fate. The girl never objected, she diligently attended a ballet class, but she did not demonstrate any outstanding dancing abilities. But very early she began to write poetry, her creative nature made itself felt. However, at that time it was fashionable, all Agnia's friends, who wanted to be like Akhmatova, were engaged in poetry, but Agnia passed this with age. Pretty quickly, the girl realized that she needed to become herself, and not the second Akhmatova, but what kind of herself?

As often happens in our lives, chance intervened.

At the final exam at the school, young Agnia read "Funeral March", one of the first poems of her own composition. Probably, it really looked comical: a young beautiful girl with a serious expression and pathos recited poems that were by no means serious from the stage. Who knows what the fate of the girl would have been if Lunacharsky had not been present at that concert. Then he could hardly restrain his laughter, but later announced to Agnia that the talent of a children's writer was hidden in her, which she must certainly develop. It remains a mystery, as Lunacharsky guessed from the girl’s rather mediocre first samples, that Agnia Barto’s poems for children will be loved by millions.

Not much time has passed, Agnia was only 19 years old, and she has already released her first book called "Chinese Wang Li". Glory quickly came, but star fever bypassed Barto. She had to communicate with many celebrities of that time: Mayakovsky, Chukovsky, Gorky, but the young poetess was very embarrassed when meeting with them. Shyness was characteristic of Agnia always. Agnia Barto's poems are easy to read and evaluate, each quatrain was wonderful. However, love and hate go hand in hand. By the mid-thirties, Agnes was adored by readers and scolded by critics. Mainly, Samuil Yakovlevich Marshak, who considered himself the best and had a huge influence in the writing environment at that time. This, however, was to be expected after Barto's phrase, which was infuriated in the dispute, that in any case she does not want to be a "under-Marsha". At that moment, Agnia received, if not an enemy, then an eternal critic.

A beautiful woman, Agnia was popular with men. From her first marriage with Pavel Barto, whose last name she left, the son Garik was born. The second marriage with the scientist - power engineer Shcheglyaev gave her a daughter, Tatyana, a girl who "dropped a ball into the river."

During the Great Patriotic War, on the advice of Bazhov, Agniya Barto stood at the lathe, helping her country at one of the military factories in Sverdlovsk. She was ready for this war, she often happened to be in pre-war Germany, and what happened there left no hope for a peaceful outcome. Barto tried to become a front-line correspondent, but she failed, so she returned to her work in Sverdlovsk, where she lived until 1944 years old.

In Moscow, life gradually returned to normal. Although the war was not yet over, the end was near, and the whole country lived in anticipation. The more terrible was the blow for Agnia on May 4, 1945. Fifteen-year-old son Garik, returning from school, went to ride a bicycle and did not return. There was a collision with a truck in Lavrushinsky Lane, the boy, falling, hit his head on the curb and died on the spot.
