First fairy tales for children. Hen Ryaba, Kolobok, Teremok, Turnip

The very first fairy tales are, of course, “Ryaba the Hen”, “Gingerbread Man”, “Teremok” and “Turnip”. It is unlikely that there will be at least one Russian-speaking child to whom they have not been read.

Publishing houses take advantage of this and release hundreds of versions of the same fairy tales for kids. But finding a decent edition is extremely difficult. At least it took me hours.

I hope my review of the first fairy tales will help you save time looking for them. I will share those books that we have and those that I consider a worthy alternative. nine0003

Contents:

  • Selection criteria for the first tales
  • Chicken Ryaba
  • Kolobok
  • Teremok
  • Turnip

My criteria for choosing the first fairy tales

The requirements for books for babies in general remain the same as I wrote about in the previous article. Here I want to say a few words about the key points when choosing "Ryaba Crust", "Kolobok", "Teremka" and "Turnip".

  • Each fairy tale is in a separate book. nine0012
  • A separate image is assigned to each plot twist.
  • Pleasant, not oversaturated pictures.

When choosing Hen Ryaba , I had the greatest difficulty. There are more than a hundred of these Ryab in stores. And one is worse than the other. Either pictures in the style of tearing out the eye, then on the page where “grandfather beat-beat” and “woman beat-beat” grandfather and woman are drawn, who are not even going to beat this egg, except perhaps in their imagination.

But in the end I found what I was looking for. A book from the series "Naughty Books" of the publishing house "Makhaon" (Labyrinth, My-shop). I am delighted with her. Wonderful, cute illustrations. Not too bright, but not too pale either. The son looks at each page for a long time. Cute characters, each action of which is illustrated. And worth every penny. A4 format, offset. Suitable for kids who are not prone to vandalism in relation to books, although the pages are quite thick. nine0003

And this book from the Klever publishing house is ideal for children up to a year old (Labyrinth, My-shop). Small format, made of cardboard, pictures without unnecessary details - what the smallest readers need.

This laced book (Labyrinth). There are a lot of positive reviews about her, although I don’t really like the illustrations. But the book is made of thick cardboard, the baby will definitely not gnaw this one. Yes, the lacing is a great idea.

Well, the last book, in my opinion, is not bad (Labyrinth, My-shop). A5 format, coated paper, although there used to be a cardboard version, colorful and understandable illustrations. There are only 4 spreads in the book. And this means that the grandfather and the woman beat the testicle on the same page, etc. For comparison, in the first version, the one I have, there are 7 turns. But here the price is also ridiculous. nine0003

With the choice of Kolobok , the situation is no better. There are so many books where Kolobok wanders from page to page with the same computer-generated expression.

As a result, I settled on Kolobok of the publishing house "Altey" (Labyrinth, My-shop). The illustrations are colorful, but not overly colorful. Animals are realistic.

We also have such a Klobok (Labyrinth). But this is my disappointment. Too bright, oversaturated with elements, difficult to perceive pictures. My son was interested in this book when he was 2 years old. nine0003

And this is Kolobok illustrated by Yu.A.Vasnetsov (Labyrinth, My-shop). Classic! But the price is not happy.

When I was making this selection, I came across a book from the Onyx publishing house (Labyrinth, My-shop). And she really liked me. It is a pity that a year ago, when I bought my koloboks, this book was not yet available. Yes, this is not cardboard, but offset, but the pictures are cute. In addition, this edition has a page where the kolobok has already been eaten. Haven't seen this anywhere else.

As for the fairy tale "Teremok", for me it is fundamental that the bear crushes the teremok by accident, and not on purpose. It is also important that at the end of the book there must be an image of the tower, the one that was “built better than the previous one”.

And our Teremok from the publishing house "Altey" satisfies these criteria. We have a cardboard version (Labyrinth, My-shop), and there is also a coated paper version (Labyrinth, My-shop). Although it does have its drawbacks. For example, the second page shows a frog, but there is no text about it. But these are trifles, because you yourself read the text, and it will not be difficult to figure out what to say about the frog. The only pity is that in the book there is neither a peeping mosquito, nor a bitter fly. Although there are advantages to this, my son, even at 1.5 years old, would not have the patience to listen to a fairy tale with so many characters. nine0003

And here is a version of the fairy tale with a fly and a mosquito (Labyrinth, My-shop). Moreover, with illustrations by E.M. Rachev familiar from childhood. The only pity is that the book is not cardboard. Small format.

Book-screen from the publishing house "Ranok" (Labyrinth, My-shop). In my opinion, the pictures are oversaturated. But here you can see how the animals live inside the tower and with each turn a new floor is built on. Great as an additional option.

And this house from the publishing house "Smile" is somewhat reminiscent of our book with Antoshka (Labyrinth, My-shop). Cute and funny animals. And last but not least, cardboard. nine0003

One of our Turnips, like Ryaba Hen, from the Naughty Books series of the Makhaon publishing house (Labyrinth, My-shop). There is a separate spread for each hero. But the book is pale. Although my son loves it.

And in this Turnip, not all heroes had enough turns (Labyrinth, My-shop). Therefore, we rarely read this edition. But the illustrations are colorful. Well, the cardboard is indestructible.

And this is a unique Turnip illustrated by R. M. Kalinovskaya (Labyrinth, My-shop). Its uniqueness lies in the very page where the cat called the mouse and the mouse, together with the cat, pulls a turnip. In other publications, this moment is skipped, that is, there is no picture where the mouse is pulling, but there is one where the turnip has already been pulled out with its help. nine0003

Very original "Turnip" from the publishing house "Nigma" (Labyrinth, My-shop). Such funny drawings by E.A.Antonenkov! A wonderful book. But it seems to me that it is good as a second option, already for a child who is familiar with the classic fairy tale.
