'Fairy Tail' Creator Reveals Lucy & Natsu's Child

Fairy Tail may be over, but fans have yet to stop shipping their favorite would-be couples from the series. Characters like Natsu and Lucy have been paired together in fan-fics for years now, but Hiro Mashima never made the two a canon couple. However, it looks like the creator of Fairy Tail has thought about the romance.
After all, the artist did share a picture he sketched of Natsu and Lucy's child just recently.
Mashima is currently in the U.S. for New York Comic Con, and it was there the manga creator showed off the NaLu artwork. During a panel, a fan asked Mashima is he could draw the child of Natsu and Lucy, so he asked if they preferred a boy or girl. When the crowded voted for the heroes to have a daughter, the artist got to work. And, as you can see below, the sketch is definitely worth ogling at.

The girl, who fans have lovingly named Nashi, looks like the perfect blend of Lucy and Natsu. The girl has her mother's face, but her long and unruly hair lends itself more to Natsu. And, as you can see, the girl is wearing Natsu's trademark scarf.
Mashima didn't speak much about the drawing, but he did hint at what powers Nashi would have. When a fan asked what power the girl would have, Mashima said the girl would wield "Taurus Fire."
If you are familiar with the Fairy Tail fandom, then you will know Nashi isn't exactly a new idea. Fans have long imagined what the child of Natsu and Lucy would be like, and the fandom created Nashi as its own original character. Fans began using Nashi in fan-fics which imagined the next generation of Mashima's franchise.
The character has become a popular secret within the fandom, but it looks like Nashi wasn't that well-kept.
But, hey - at least Mashima has given official artwork of Nashi now!

Set in a fictional Earth, a boy named Natsu teams up with an unlikely friend Lucy Heartfilia as the latter dreams of becoming a powerful wizard. To date, there are more than 250 episodes of the acclaimed series, and fans can expect more to come in the new year.
To date, several million copies of Fairy Tail have been sold worldwide. Published by Del Ray in the west, there are over 35 million volumes of the manga in circulation at the moment. Kodansha Comics is now overseeing the release of Fairy Tail projects in the U.S. and other western territories, and the licensing return has helped the publisher amass popularity.
Other series like Attack on Titan have also helped bolster Kodansha's visibility outside of Japan, so fans can expect the company to continue pushing out new content as it becomes available.

What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Fairy Tail is a violent anime series with sexy content that's not for younger kids. Not only is main character Lucy impossibly buxom, she's also savvy enough to use her physical attributes to get what she wants (attention, a better sale price on a store item, etc.) from men. She's also obsessed with popularity, envious of those who have it, and fascinated by what society tells her is "cool," which leaves her vulnerable to potentially dangerous situations. She does eventually prove that there's more to her than just a pretty face, thanks to a positive new friendship and the chance to sharpen her skills.
A main character is known for taking off his clothes at whim, showing a bare torso and the side of his butt, but sensitive areas are obscured. Animation takes the edge off the excessive clashes, but violence is often a means to an end; you'll see a lot of it, even between friendly characters. On the upside, positive qualities like loyalty and perseverance are rewarded, while self-serving and arrogant characters stand out in a negative way.

Please do not listen to those saying Fairy Tail is meant for anyone under the age of 14.
Fairy Tail does have its good points; good messages with friendship, standing up for what you believe in, and more. The plot is something young audiences would enjoy, it's action packed, has likeable characters/bonds, and has a coherent plot. Despite this, Fairy Tail isn't something I'd suggest to someone under the age of 14, maybe even 15.
The show itself has very suggestive content. Almost every episode features a (usually female) character being either in a suggestive pose, situtation, suggestive comments and or naked. Genitals are never fully shown usually either covered or just a bit off screen. To go into more detail, its a constant gag that Gray, a male character within the show, is naked or semi-naked. This is frequently shown and is unnecessary especially since Fairy Tail is targeted towards younger audiences. Smoking and drinking is also common in the series. Though not as prevalent in the series as sexual scenes, many reacquiring characters smoke and drink. Smoking /drinking is not shown in a bad light either, its mostly just a quirk that characters have. Or its used as another way to get into a sexualized situation. So if you have a major issue with your children being exposed to that, maybe stray away from Fairy Tail. Similarly to any other action show, there is violence. Fighting is the forefront of the series; blood is shown but not that often.
Compared to other shows, the action isn't as severe and deaths aren't that common.

What's the Story?
FAIRY TAIL is an anime series about a teen named Lucy (voiced by Cherami Leigh) who runs away with her new friend, Natsu (Todd Haberkorn), to join the well-known wizards guild, Fairy Tail. Natsu is a powerful wizard endowed with rare fire magic who's on a quest to find his foster parent, a dragon named Igneel who disappeared years ago. Lucy's powers are celestial, allowing her to summon spirits to help her in times of need.
Together with Natsu's cat, Happy (Tia Ballard), the two face one adventure after another, battling evil wizards and attacks from new foes at every turn.
Is It Any Good?
Fairy Tail appeals to anime fans, thanks to a plot that's layered with curious characters, legends, and a story that evolves at a believable pace rather than all at once. It's more complex than most, and the characters run the gamut of personality styles, which helps keep things interesting. Both Lucy and Natsu have positive qualities that make them decent protagonists as well.
But what the show has an excess of is content that's not suited to the kids who typically seek out anime series. Violence is the norm in this genre, but Fairy Tail's is even more prevalent than its peers'. Even more noticeable is the show's rather questionable portrayal of women, whose physical attributes (busty chests, thin frames, and accentuated curves) get more attention than their abilities do, and who often have less upstanding characteristics (apparent alcoholism and a bad case of popularity envy, to name a couple) than do their male counterparts.
The bottom line? Its story is well developed and will keep viewers' interest, but the mature content is better suited to teens than to kids.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about social situations and fitting in. What does it feel like to be the newcomer to a group? Do your tweens have an easy time warming up to new people?
What does peer pressure feel like? To what extent does it change how you feel about yourself? Have you ever make adjustments to your appearance or your personality because of how you want others to see you?
What messages does this series send about body image, to girls in particular? What other shows have you seen with similar tones? Do you think the media perpetuates negative impressions about self-image and good health?
