The best way to get young learners to develop a love for math is to make it exciting. Our kindergarten math worksheets do just that, with professionally designed coloring, tracing, and number counting pages that feature familiar images and quirky characters. From simple addition and subtraction to sorting and identifying coins, our kindergarten math pages assist young learners with building fundamental math skills.

Cover All the Bases with Kindergarten Math Pages

Some kids come into kindergarten with such a firm grasp on numbers and counting that they’re ready to dive right into addition and subtraction problems. Others might still be struggling to consistently count to 10. Regardless of your child’s early math aptitude, our vast supply of kindergarten math worksheets are the perfect supplement to classroom instruction. Most importantly, our kindergarten math worksheets were designed in such a way that kids will view practicing math as a fun activity rather than a chore.

Speaking of fun practice, there are numerous opportunities throughout the day for parents to reinforce key math concepts without their kindergartner even knowing it! For instance, instead of handing him his post-school snack, tell him to go to the fridge and bring back exactly 10 grapes. Or hand him a deck of cards and ask him to pull out all the 7s. And next time you’re at a restaurant, have him add up how many people are sitting at the two tables next to you.

The bottom line is, through our kindergarten math pages and real-life activities, there are endless ways to help your little one sharpen those critical early math skills.

Why do we need mathematics?

Mathematics is a fundamental science that appeared at the moment when a person needed to calculate something. We can say that her age is not much different from the age of mankind. Mathematics helps, on the one hand, to develop abstract thinking, on the other hand, to solve applied problems in everyday life.

Mathematical thinking, or mathematical mindset, is based on logic, the ability to build cause-and-effect relationships, critical thinking, the desire to get to the bottom of a question or problem.

Mathematics forms skills that are relevant for any historical period, especially for the present.

What is entertaining mathematics?

Undoubtedly, mathematical abilities are developed by special efforts.

One option is to study mathematics by solving mathematical problems. For an easier and more exciting learning process, a special section is used - entertaining mathematics. In thoughtful game tasks, interesting plots, using humor, the science of mathematics appears in the most attractive form, which is especially important when teaching children. Children's curiosity and excitement allow you to get involved in the world of abstract calculations and go from entertaining puzzles to real complex mathematics.

Why does the child not understand mathematics?

There is no definite answer to this question. Perhaps the child has not yet fully mastered the skills of counting. Here, counting games from very simple to complicated options, for example, with dice (as an option, rpg board games) will help.

Very young children may still have unformed abstract thinking: it is easier for them to operate with visual objects. A parent or teacher always shows the application of mathematics, explaining why mathematics is needed in life.

If we are talking about an older age, then it is possible to structure abstract thinking in the form of diagrams on paper, helping not to keep all the data in mind, but to see the full picture visually.

If mathematics is difficult for a child, it may be worth paying additional attention to the development of imagination. It is not necessary to use the detailed solution of math problems; you can go through mazes, cut out patterns, collect various crafts according to the schemes. Creativity is welcome, because mathematics is not always about dry numbers.

Math in pictures for preschoolers online is now available to every child. The section includes tasks and games in arithmetic for children, exciting tasks that develop addition and subtraction lessons for children. The exercises in this section will help develop attention and concentration, form elementary mathematical concepts in children.

Playful activities

Your child will have a fun and productive time.

Children are engaged with pleasure, are completely immersed in the learning process and achieve results. For children under 6 who have not yet learned to read, we voiced each task.

Formation of elementary mathematical concepts in children 4-5 using mathematical fairy tales.

Nowadays there are great difficulties in teaching mathematics. This is mainly due to the rapid development of mathematics as a science of large-scale computerization. The child enters mathematics from a very early age and, taking the first steps, he acquires simple ideas about mathematics, which in the future will become the basis for the formation of his mental abilities and further educational activities. As you know, the source of elementary mathematical concepts for a child is the surrounding reality, which he learns in the course of his various activities, in communication with adults and under their teaching guidance.

Therefore, an important part of the intellectual and personal development of a preschooler is the formation of elementary ideas. Preschool education is the first educational stage, and kindergarten plays an important role in preparing children for school in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard. To what extent the child will be prepared in a timely manner, qualitatively for education at school and will continue to depend on the success of his further education.
