Some exciting activities can be great for nurturing the enthusiastic tween brains.

Adolescence begins at the age of twelve for some, and this period signals a significant change in a child’s behavior and overall personality. You’ll observe a distinct personality, specialized hobbies, and improved cognitive ability. Encouraging them to try different activities for 12-year-olds (tweens) can assist them in meeting their developmental needs. It is also important that you give attention to your child at this age. This post covers some fascinating and fun activities for tweens to help them with their physical, mental, and socio-emotional development.

Activities for 12-year-old Children

Here are some enjoyable and entertaining activities that your 12-year-old child can indulge in with friends and family.

1. Make a comic book

Image: Shutterstock

Creative writing requires imagination. Involving your pre-teen in creative-writing activities can hone their cognitive abilities and promote out-of-the-box thinking. Choosing a theme, writing dialogues, and preparing visuals can encourage them to plan, organize, and present ideas. This productive, self-expressing activity can also boost their self-esteem and confidence.
Alternatively, your child can try to draw a comic book containing only characters and no words — a fun and challenging way to fire their imagination.

2. Do a DIY project

Image: Shutterstock

DIY projects are based on the concept of “learning by doing,” a perfect way to indulge your tween in self-learning activities. The theme for a DIY project can vary, and it is best to decide on a task that is both engaging and challenging. Building a city using recyclables or preparing an effective plan to minimize plastic waste are some fun and learning DIY projects that can help boost your child’s critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.

3. Learn to code

Learning a new language can help improve your tween’s cognitive and decision-making skills. Besides, it can hone your child’s communication skills that are relevant for personal development. Depending on their interest and preferences, they can learn one or more than one language. You could enroll them in a language class or download a language-learning app.

5. Play a board game

Image: Shutterstock

Playing board games, such as Brainstorm or Scrabble, is a joyful, engaging, and learning experience. But, how about preparing one from scratch? Making a board game requires creative skills. Your child can come up with a random idea to develop a new board game or work on an existing game by introducing/removing some elements of the game. In either case, your child would be able to experiment, which can help develop their cognitive skills. Moreover, it can boost brain function and build their self-esteem and self-confidence.

6. Solve puzzles

Image: Shutterstock

Solving puzzles, like a 1,000-piece puzzle or Rubik’s cube, is challenging, engaging, and entertaining. It can help enhance brain function, boost concentration, improve visuospatial reasoning, and develop problem-solving abilities. Besides, it reduces stress, enhances mood, and improves relationships by allowing effective collaboration. Board games and puzzles are great mental activities.

Playing strategy card games, like sequence, can teach sportsmanship and patience and improve your 12-year-old’s logical reasoning skills. Also, m aking strategies and playing with a positive spirit can improve their social and communication skills and help build positive relationships.

A STEM scavenger hunt is an age-appropriate indoor activity available in a worksheet format. In these activities, short-answer questions and answer keys are given. These questions are aimed at teaching the basic concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to your child. There are some other forms of STEM scavenger hunts as well. Choose one for your tween based on the desired complexity.

9. Plan a Google Maps adventure

Image: Shutterstock

In this exciting activity, you have to select and share the screenshots of exciting spots on Google Street View with your child. Next, ask them to guess where that street is and identify some places near that street. There are several apps, like GeoGuessr and Pursued, that you could download for this activity.

10. Outline a novel

Image: Shutterstock

If your 12-year-old reads novels, this delightful activity can boost their creative thinking abilities. Assign a theme to your child and instruct them to outline a novel. The outline should include the main characters, the novel’s setting, and the antagonist. They could work on a mystery, thriller, science fiction, or fantasy. Give a week to your child and let them experiment. Discuss the outline with them and guide them to do better. Remember, the child has to come up with an outline and not write a novel.

11. Create a photo collage

Image: Shutterstock

It is a joyful craft activity for 12-year-olds with a liking for photography. It involves clicking pictures of a favorite place, item, person, or anything that the child likes and presenting them in a collage. It can stir their imagination, and help them think analytically and express themselves.

12. Brainstorm an idea

Image: Shutterstock

Brainstorming an idea with family and peers can help improve your child’s critical thinking and logical reasoning skills and encourage them to be open to different perspectives. To initiate the activity, involve your child in some serious brainstorming sessions and encourage them to come up with ideas on minimizing the family’s monthly expense, plan a low-budget weekend get-together, and revamp the house without professional help. Discuss the ideas that your 12-year-old presents, and give them constructive feedback.

13. Solve an anagram

Image: Shutterstock

An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of different words or phrases. For example, FRIED, when rearranged, makes words, like “FIRED.” It may seem simple, but an age-appropriate anagram provides relatively complex words and phrases to solve. Several board games and online activities can train your tween in solving an anagram. Anagramming can help children develop concentration, build vocabulary, and hone problem-solving skills.

14. Prepare a chain reaction

Image: Shutterstock

Preparing a chain reaction with dominoes is an entertaining activity involving science and creativity. You could get some self-explanatory domino-effect kits that are suitable for your tween to try the activity independently. Discuss every step in detail. Once acquainted with the concept of the domino effect, challenge the tween to prepare a similar chain reaction with other household materials like popsicle sticks, matchsticks, and paper cups.

15. Learn to play an instrument

Image: Shutterstock

Playing an instrument is a joyful activity that trains your brain and improves long-term memory. Also, it increases concentration, improves multitasking ability, and boosts creativity. More importantly, it relieves stress and makes a child feel happy by letting the emotions flow. Bongo, piano, and harmonica are some easy-to-learn instruments that you can suggest to your 12-year-old.

16. Practice woodworking

Image: Shutterstock

It is a creative activity in which your 12-year-old can learn to create something useful from waste wood lying in your backyard or lawn. Creating an item from wood involves using nails, hammer, screwdrivers, etc. It can help develop fine and gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. You could ask your kid to build a bird feeder, a hutch for your pet, or a toolbox for your garage.

Participating in such activities can also help improve their communication skills and cognitive abilities.

Image: Shutterstock

Use a beginner’s tie and dye kit that comes with clear instructions on how to tie and dye with all the necessary materials. Involving your tween in this fun and exciting activity can help improve their creative thinking skills.

19. Prepare a healthy meal

Image: Shutterstock

You could introduce various fireless cooking recipes to your 12-year-old. Let them try as many recipes as they wish by guiding them on proper safety measures. Teach them to select healthy ingredients to enhance the nutritional value of the food. You could also teach them to cook dinner for the family or prepare pastry, ice cream, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and shakes.

20. Run an obstacle course

Image: Shutterstock

22. Sing karaoke

Image: Shutterstock

Use a microphone and create a perfect atmosphere to motivate your child to participate in this fun activity with family and friends. Singing karaoke enhances cognitive abilities, like memory, concentration, and listening. Encourage them to dance while singing to promote physical activity, boost mood, relieve stress, and encourage self-expression.

23. Learn calligraphy or hand lettering

Image: Shutterstock

While calligraphy is the art of beautiful handwriting, hand lettering is the art of illustrating the letters by working around prefabricated and designed letters. Motivate your tween to learn one or both techniques to utilize their time and skills effectively. These inexpensive art forms can keep a tween engaged and entertained, boost mood, and relieve pressure and stress.

24. Watch a movie

Image: Shutterstock

Watch a movie together or introduce your tween to different movie genres. You could also teach them about media and its impact on children and adolescents. It provides an opportunity to discuss their likes, dislikes, and preferences. Guide your tween to differentiate between reality and fantasy, and spend quality time building a positive relation.

25. Research on pets

Image: Shutterstock

Rearing a pet is a learning experience for everyone. If you are planning to have one, then let your tween do the research. Guide them to know the best pets to rear, their suitable habitats, food habits, etc., and prepare a five-minute PowerPoint presentation to share their research with the family. This activity can help a child connect with the surroundings and develop communication skills.

27. Learn to draw and paint

Image: Shutterstock

Drawing and painting can be used as a form of art therapy activity to reduce stress and improve sleep. Introducing your pre-teen to this art can help utilize their imagination, develop existing talents and can help them develop mindfulness and tranquility, which in turn augments concentration and creativity.

1. Is 12 years old still a kid?

A 12-year-old is in their tween years when they leave childhood and enter adolescence. They can be called pre-teens or tweens and are too old to be viewed as kids and not old enough to be considered teenagers.

2. What hobbies can a 12-year-old do?

If your 12-year-old is outdoorsy, they can pursue outdoor recreation activities like cycling, kayaking, running, rock climbing, or skiing. If they love to spend time indoors, you can introduce them to gardening, crafting, reading, journaling, or painting.

Choosing a bunch of fun and exciting activities for 12-year-olds can work well in developing their skills. They can enhance their cognitive abilities and improve their physical and mental development at a much faster pace. Encouraging them to participate in such activities will also allow them to figure out their personal preferences and utilize their skills to bring out the best in them. It eventually boosts their self-esteem and promotes social interaction, which is essential for kids on the verge of entering their teenage years.

Top 10 Board Games For Tweens

Having a family game night has been a fantastic way for our families to connect and unwind.

These family focused evenings also often lead to lots of laughter and memorable moments. As our kids get older, it can be more difficult to find games that appeal to everyone and that are actually fun to play.

Board games for tweens can be especially difficult to find, but we’ve managed to find a few that we think might be winners…..

This post may contain affiliate links.

Believe it or not there are actually games that tweens will enjoy playing. It can be a great way to engage with kids at this difficult age.

Typically the best board games for tweens have some strategy involved and are fun without being too complex or taking too long. (yes, their attention spans still leave something to be desired)

Since Michelle and I have either gone through or are currently surviving the tween stage with both a boy and a girl, here are some of the winners at our houses:

Sequence GameBattleship GameMonopoly Classic Game

1) Sequence– Definitely one of my all time favorites, this game of thinking and strategy is fantastic when played with teams or just 2 players. This is perfect when you have multiple generations around at the holidays or a reunion. The adults in our family have been known to play this long after the kiddos are off to bed.

2) Battleship- Another classic, this game of master planning is only for 2 players but a perfect way to pass a rainy afternoon. Housed in 2 plastic cases, Battleship travels well and has helped us out with flight delays in airports and on road trips

. Fantastic way to take a little technology break and keep everyone entertained.

3) Monopoly – This game is a classic for a reason. By this age, most kids are ready to handle the game of real estate, risk taking, and money management. They’ve added a “speed die” that will make the game move along quicker but still retains all the things you loved about Monopoly as a child. I have great memories of long Summer days playing with my sister and I’m guessing you’ve got your own set of remembrances with this game.

Pictopia-Family Trivia Game: Disney EditionWits & Wagers FamilyBeat The Parents Board Game

4) Pictopia– We received this trivia game last Christmas and have loved it ever since! It encourages creative thinking, cooperation and all ages enjoy showing off their Disney smarts!

5) Wits & Wagers-  This game is so fun and is meant for an adult to team up with a child and play another adult/child pair. There is tons of learning happening because no one has to know the right answers, you’re making a best guess and then deciding whose guess is closest to the correct answer. Tweens could definitely pair up together against their peers and there is laughter galore while sneaking in some fun facts about our world!

6) Beat The Parents – What tween doesn’t want to be beat their parents at something? Adults answer questions about kid’s stuff and kid’s answer questions about things most adults should know. It’s parents vs. kids, what’s not to love?

Winning Moves Tile Lock ScrabbleJenga Classic GameHedBanz Game – Edition may vary

7) Scrabble– A well known classic, this word building game is perfect for building vocabulary, spelling, and language skills. This Tile Lock version helps keep the letters in place in case anyone happens to bump the board and cause a mishap….but maybe that only happens at my house. 😉

8) Jenga – Engineering 101 right here as players attempt to remove blocks and build on the original tower. It’s always interesting to see how your child reacts under pressure. This game has helped us have some great conversations about risk taking, battling nerves, and staying focused when things look iffy. Kinda crazy that all came from a kid’s game but I’ve got some competitive, slightly high strung offspring…no clue where that comes from.

9) HedBanz – We have a couple versions of this game and love them both! This quick question game with yea or no answers is an outstanding way to improve communication skills, deduction, and reasoning. It’s also fabulous on a road trip! It’ll definitely make the passing motorists what exactly in going on in your minivan!

Say Anything FamilySpontuneous – The Song Game – Sing It or Shout It – Talent NOT Required (Best Family / Party Board Games for Kids, Teens, Adults – Boy & Girls Ages 8 & Up)Sleepover Slumber Party Game- Young Tween Teens Girlfriend Fun Activities

10) Say Anything – This game is perfect to play with 2 families or 1 large one.  Think aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. Every family has their little idiosyncrasies and phrases and this game brings them all out in the open! Grab the tissues because you’ll be laughing ’til you cry and realizing just how FUN your family is!

11) Spontuneous-No talent required, this song filled game capitalizes on the random lyrics that get stuck in your head. It’s a race to blurt out and play a crazy, updated version of Name That Tune but with lyrics as the challenge.

12) Sleepover Slumber Party Game-Spin the spinner and attempt to complete one of over 200 Act It, Work It or Party challenges. Hilarious, guided fun, perfect for girl time!

Not Parent Approved: A Card Game for Kids, Families and Mischief MakersTicket To RideSplendor Board Game

13) Not Parent Approved Think Cards Against Humanity but in a clean, kid appropriate version. Crazy laughs and memories waiting to be made.

14) Ticket to Ride Build your way across America creating train routes to get you city to city. The longer your route the more points you earn, but be sure you can make it to your final destination.

15) Splendor Strategy meets business savvy in this old world game of collecting gems and trading. One of the the most artistically beautiful games you will ever see. So much fun kids won’t even realize they’re learning real world economic concepts.

Tweens are still just kids and they haven’t really outgrown board games. When you choose the right, age appropriate ones, there are still tons of good times and great memories to be made! So, order a pizza and pop some popcorn and let the games begin!

Birthday contests (12-14 years old) | Holiday again!

Once I wrote down the birthday of my daughter (12 years old), on which we did without competitions. But... There were so many requests for help in organizing the holiday in the comments that I went around the Internet three times in search of games and entertainment that would not be very childish and did not require the presence of an adult presenter.

The task, I tell you, is very difficult. There are funny contests, but those that are too early to hold in adolescence, and they can cheer up only tipsy guests. It doesn't suit us...

How to get started

The Again Holiday website contains a lot of ready-made free scenarios. These are not only selections of contests, but also full-fledged home quests and creative programs (cooking, photo parties, etc.)

I recommend to look at "All ideas by age and about" (this is a handy table of contents with links to detailed articles).

Birthday party 12-14 years old, simple and fun competitions

Tasks can be done by the birthday person after a short preparation. If you start reading all this during the holiday, nothing will work.

Funny contests with easy-to-find items

It’s easier to watch the video here, everything is clear without a description:

Golden Goose

magic goose). Guests need to be put in a circle and asked to name some part of the body: “right knee”, “left heel”, “nose”, “chin”, “back”, “nape”. After that, at the expense of THREE, you need to stick to the neighbor on the right with this particular part. The place of gluing does not matter, as long as it does not fall.

This is how everyone should shout “Congratulations!” three times. A fun start to the holiday, helps to quickly liberate.

Fun photo session with photo props on sticks

I like this activity because the photos are always funny and people pose much more artistically.

Fake mustaches, beards and crowns help a lot. There are sets in which from 4 to 30 items, choose!

Obstacle dance

First stage. We stretch one rope at a height of 1 meter, and the other at a height of 50 cm from the floor. You can move a little, not one above the other. As a rule, there is nowhere to tie in the apartment, you have to hold the ends of the upper and lower ropes in your right and left hands.

Now we turn on dance music (fast latin is better) and ask the lower rope to step over, and crawl under the upper one. If there are few guests, several dance circles.

Second stage. We tightly blindfold two participants, ask them to overcome obstacles. We quietly remove the ropes ... it remains to observe the efforts of careful dancers.

A frozen artist

Presenter: "We need two people who can draw well." He gives them each a felt-tip pen: “Only today you won’t need it, I’ll bewitch you. Imagine that there is an invisible sheet of paper in front of you, prepare a felt-tip pen and ... freeze!

We call the other two participants, to whom we give a landscape sheet (it is better to attach it to a solid base). The point is that the artists with felt-tip pens stand still, and their assistants move the sheet along the tip of the felt-tip pen, trying to capture a drawing that everyone understands. It can be a portrait of a birthday person, a birthday cake with candles, just a house with a tree and the sun. Everything is fun, try it!

Siamese twins

On the cards you need to write some part of the body, call all the guests and make them in pairs. Each couple draws a card and sticks it with the part of the body that fell out to them, like Siamese twins. Noses, heels, nape, elbows, knees, backs. Now you need to tie a handkerchief to each other. Let one couple do it, the rest just watch. The one with the most difficult situation wins. Try to put a handkerchief on the "twin" if you are glued with your backs ...

What were you doing there?

The game is equally fun for both children and adults, since it is difficult to come up with something more fun than random coincidences of questions and answers.

We write on the plates: "Dentist's Office", "Director's Office", "Toilet", "Bathhouse", "Bakery", "Cinema", "Post Office", "Park", "Zoo", "Theater" , "Barbershop", "Basement", "Construction", "Kindergarten", "Pension Fund", "Desert Island", "Fitness Club".

The player stands with his back to the guests, the host puts a sign with one of these inscriptions on his back. The guests know what they are talking about, and the “lucky one” answers at random. Players can be changed. Here is a sample list of questions (you cannot answer yes or no):

 • Do you often go there? (Every Friday, three times a week, rarely but with pleasure)
 • Do you like this place? (It can be better, I still don’t understand exactly)
 • With whom do you usually go there?
 • Which famous person would you like to meet there?
 • What do you usually take with you there? Name three things.
 • What do you usually do there?
 • Why did you choose this place?

Change sign and player. It's fun when they go to kindergarten once a month with Alla Pugacheva, take a laptop and a toothbrush with them, do ballet there or eat pizza) &

Downed pilots

I once held this game on February 23 at school, but all the spectators were so carried away that I boldly propose to organize it at a birthday party. Oddly enough, it's fun.

We make 5-6 paper airplanes, and put 20 pieces of paper lumps in a basket. One person launches airplanes (choose the longest side in the room), everyone else tries to shoot down flying airplanes. If this is a competition to determine the winner, we give 5 attempts to each.

Defile

Can be held at the moment when you want to invite guests to the table. Build them against the opposite wall and solemnly announce (there is no need to distribute roles in advance): “They arrived at the gala dinner: a famous yogi, a dancer from the east, Baba Yaga, a fairy Princess, an ogre, a Shusher rat, a ballerina from the Bolshoi Theater, a one-legged Pirate, the President of Russia , bodybuilding champion, famous supermodel (actress), baby who learned to walk today.

All guests need to walk a few steps in character and sit down at the table.

Unlucky Sculptor

The name of the competition is not necessary to tell anyone in advance, otherwise the meaning will become clear, and we do not need this. All guests must go to another room, only the host and three players remain. You appoint one sculptor and ask him to put the other two in the most uncomfortable positions. For example, let the first one freeze, pushing himself off the floor in the top position, and the second one will sit on his back, clasping his hands behind him in the castle. And now the presenter changes the one who has the hardest time in the new sculpture to the sculptor himself. Since he himself came up with torture for others, take the rap :-).

You can now start one new player from another room. Now it's the sculptor who must examine the previous strange statue and create his new one, again coming up with complex poses. We repeat everything, the sculptor takes the place of the victim himself. It's always funny, try it! Naturally, all other guests enter one by one and remain in the room until the end of the game.

Snowman

Line up several people (4-6) one after the other, side by side with the guests. Show the last player a simple drawing of a snowman and ask them to draw THIS on the previous player's back. He is trying to understand what he was depicted, draws on his back what he understood (silently). So we reach the first in this line, which should depict the original drawing on clean paper. Usually a snowman turns into a face :-). The rest of the details are lost along the way.

Guess what's in your hands

Stuffed toy manufacturers are making this contest funny. We blindfold the player and offer to guess what he is holding in his hands. For example, when we offered to identify a snake in a Santa Claus hat with a bag for gifts, the girl said that it was a snail. Guests are always surprised that they failed to guess such an obvious little animal. It’s funnier if a person comments on his guesses aloud.

What would the Indians call you

This is not a contest, just an excuse to laugh at the table while eating cake. I found a picture on the Internet, I laughed myself. These are funny names that the Indians might give you. The first column is the first letter of the name, the second column is the first letter of the last name. I, Irina Panasyan, would be called Playful Pelican...

Verbal shifters

Solving shifters is fun. I remind you that this is:

Milk boils over standing sand (which means - Under a lying stone, water does not flow).

There are a lot of ready-made selections with changelings on the Internet, you need to look at what phrases the guests are familiar with.

Flip Pictures

Print out these pictures and cut them apart so the answer is not so obvious. In principle, you can close the half with a sheet of paper right on the monitor. First, show the first one: “You see, here a huge crow grabbed a little man with its beak. Guess what you will see if you flip the picture. The correct answer is: "A man in a boat near the island, to which a huge fish swam." There is a lot of this on the site that I give!

Copy the link: http://www. psy.msu.ru/illusion/upside_down.html

Puzzles

Again I will give a link to my favorite site with puzzles. Everything is very clear, with answers. Here, for example, are interesting puzzles with matches:

Move 3 matches so that the arrow points in the opposite direction. There are answers to all mysteries!

Copy the link: http://logo-rai.ru/index.php/zadachi-golovolomki-so-spichkami?start=6

I advise you to buy fireplace (long) matches. In a company, it's clearer.

Q&A

It's absolutely win-win entertainment. Tested on thousands of children's and adult holidays. I found a site that has selected questions and answers that are relatively suitable for a 12-14 year old birthday.

This is how it should be done. Questions are enough to have only the leader, you can read in a row. But the answers need to be printed on separate sheets of paper and invite guests to pull out a piece of paper at random: “Do you brush your teeth?” — “Yes, I have many talents…”

Copy the link: http://www. kopilochka.net.ru/games/78-igra/392-vopros-answer.html

Draw 3D

Now even among adults creative workshops are popular, so let's not lag behind. I like that this particular drawing is ALWAYS obtained by EVERYONE, but it looks very impressive. What do you need? Album sheets for each person, a simple pencil, felt-tip pens and 5-7 minutes of time.

Put the left hand on the sheet and trace with a pencil along the contour. Now we take a felt-tip pen of any color and draw parallel lines at a distance of 1 cm from each other. From the edge of the paper, just a straight line, and where the outline of the hand begins, you need to draw an arc. After the contour of the hand, we continue the straight line. From the picture, I think everything is clear. It turns out a real 3D drawing! I think it's great!

With felt-tip pens of other colors we repeat the curves of the first lines, it's already quite simple. If you put a date on the picture and hang it in a frame, you will remember for a long time how well you had a good time with your friends on your birthday.

What else is on this site...
[item icon="fa-star" ]There are great quest scenarios: "The Mystery of the Underground Bunker", "Treasures of the Egyptian Princess" and "The Lost World" that you can arrange for your guests. In both quests, you can change the tasks themselves (make them harder or easier).[/item]
1. Street twister

 • Number of players : Three to five (one leader).
 • What you will need : a flat paved area and colored crayons, a twister tape measure. Instead of the latter, you can use the online version.

First you need to mark the field for the twister on a free area. Using crayons, draw four rows of six red, green, blue and yellow circles. You can use other colors too. The diameter of the circles should be such that a person can easily put his hand inside, and the distance between the figures should be about half as much.

First, the players choose a leader. Then they are located along the edges of the field, standing on two circles.

The leader spins the roulette wheel (or uses the online version) and, depending on where the arrow points, gives commands to the players.

For example: "The right hand is blue." The person who received such a command must put his right hand on the blue circle and, if successful, pass the right to move to the next player. If it did not work out to stay in the new position, the participant leaves the field.

In this way, people rearrange their limbs, intertwining in bizarre poses. The last person left on the court wins.

2. Kerplank

 • Number of players : from two people.
 • What you need : set of basket, sticks and balls; plastic ties.

Make a play fixture:

1. Buy a metal net about a meter wide, a set of plant support sticks (about 40 cm long) and colorful plastic balls for the dry pool.

2. Roll up the mesh like a tube and secure the ends with plastic ties.

3. Insert the sticks into the grid in a random order, and sprinkle balls on top of them.

The essence of the game is to draw sticks in turn, while trying to leave the balls in place. The one with the fewest balls at the end wins.

3. Leaning tower (jenga)

 • Number of players : from two people.
 • What you need : 48 pieces of wood about 25 cm long. You can buy thick boards at the hardware store, cut them into identical pieces, sand them and, if desired, paint them in different colors.

Arrange the sticks for the tower game by stacking them three in a row, as for a classic board jenga. Pull out one board at a time, trying not to destroy the tower. The one who destroys the structure loses.

4. Self-made shooting range

 • Number of players : from two people.
 • What you need : A piece of tarpaulin, duct tape, a tennis ball, or other objects to throw, such as pebbles.

First you need to cut holes in the tarpaulin of different sizes and shapes and tape the edges with tape of different colors. Points for a hit can be distributed according to the colors, size or location of the target.

Stretch the finished canvas between two sticks dug into the ground, or otherwise secure. Take turns throwing the ball or pebbles at the target. The one who scores the maximum number of points wins.

5. Cast the ring

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : rings and stand. You can buy a ready-made set for the game or make the elements yourself from improvised materials.

Take turns throwing rings, trying to put them on the rack.

6. Don't let me fall

 • Number of players : from three.
 • What you need : Noodles - sticks for swimming. Each player must have one. Also, instead of noodles, you can take the usual long branches. The main thing is that they are even and without knots.

The players become a circle. Each of them holds a noodle, resting it with one end on the ground and placing it vertically. On command, the participants change places, leaving their noodle and intercepting a stick from a neighbor.

If the participant does not have time to hold the element while moving, he is eliminated. The farther apart people are, the more interesting the game.

7. Treasure hunt

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : paper bags, treasures - any small items that are easy to collect.

First, find the "treasures" that the players will collect. Depending on the venue, these can be cones, different types of flowers and leaves, pebbles, shells, or any object that falls under a given definition: red, green, round, and so on.

Distribute packages to the players, each of which contains certain "values". The one who completes the task first wins.

8. Accurate throw

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you will need : 2-3 plastic buckets of different sizes, board, drill, screws, ball.

Prepare your play equipment. Using a drill and screws, attach the buckets to a long board and stand it upright.

Take turns throwing the ball, trying to throw it into the container. For each hit, a certain number of points are given. The smaller the bucket, the greater the reward.

9. Obstacle course

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you will need : ropes, old tires, rope ladders, buckets, noodles and any other items that can be used to create obstacles.
Photo: pavsie/Depositphotos

The first step is to set up an obstacle course. Here are a few options:

 1. Scatter old tires on which you will need to get from one point to another.
 2. Stretch two ropes between the trees at a distance of about 1.5 meters from each other. The player will go one by one, hold on to the second.
 3. Choose closely growing trees and make a thick web of strong thread or twine between them, through which the participants will have to wade.
 4. Find a narrow plank to walk on.

Take it in turns to overcome the obstacle course. Time yourself to determine the winner.

10. Bottle bowling

 • Number of players : from two.
 • Items needed : 10 plastic bottles, paint, ball, level playing field.

Paint the bottles, fill them with water and arrange them in a triangle like bowling pins. Draw a starting line that cannot be crossed when throwing. Take turns launching the ball, trying to knock down as many pins as possible.

11. Sticks in business

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : One noodle for each player (may use badminton rackets), balloons and a plastic basket.

Use the noodle or badminton racket to get as many balloons as possible into the basket.

12. Tic-tac-toe

 • Number of players : two.
 • What you need : Depends on how you intend to play.

Draw a checkered field with a stick on wet sand, mark with chalk on asphalt, or use square yard tiles.

Tic-tac-toe can be drawn or prepared in advance by drawing icons on large pebbles or wooden dice, and laid out on the playing field.

13. Stick Olympiad

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : a lot of noodles, the more the better.

Build an obstacle course out of noodles: a gate, a ladder, a rack, a throw ring and more.

Time your progress to determine the winner.

14. Accurate throw 2.0

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you will need : a few tins, a chain or strong thread to secure them, a small ball (jumper).

Hang the cans on the branches of a tree and take turns tossing the ball, trying to get it inside.

15. Tug of war

 • Number of players : from four.
 • What you need : rope.
Photo: DesignPicsInc/Depositphotos

Divide the participants into two teams and draw a line on the court, crossing which will be considered a defeat.

If you are tired of the classic version of the game, you can try a more difficult one. Pull the rope while standing on overturned boxes or stumps. In this case, to win, you will have to show not only strength, but also dexterity.

16. Ice wealth

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : the largest container that will fit in the freezer, small toys and other items, a hammer and a screwdriver.

Freeze water with toys and small items in a large container. This must be done in layers so that the treasures do not sink to the bottom. Give the guys a hammer and a screwdriver - in the next half hour they will have something to do.

17. Darts with balloons

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : balloons, board and tape, darts.
Photo: stevebonk/Depositphotos

18. Floor walkers

 • Number of players : from two to five.
 • What you need : flat paved area; crayons; cube for playing from a square cardboard box - seal it with tape and draw dots on the sides, like on dice.

Instead of figures in the street version of the board game, the players themselves must move. Draw a field for walkers on the site, add marks, hitting which you will need to move forward, go back a few steps or start.

Take turns rolling the big die. How many points fell out, so many steps need to be taken across the field. The one who gets to the finish line first wins.

19. Accurate throw 3.0

 • Number of players : from two.
 • What you need : Stepladder, small bag or sock filled with beans or grits.

Determine how many points you can get for hitting each step of the ladder. Take turns throwing the bag, trying to score more points.
