2. Recycling

Did you know that the kids can learn about recycling while doing this printable trash truck craft template?

While the kids are making the trash truck craft, you may integrate a brief lesson on the importance of recycling.

You may incorporate this recycling lesson into your science classes in school as well.

Explain that some of the garbage collected by the trash truck is recycled to make different products.

Another important thing to emphasize to the kids is that they can recycle some of the household items rather than throwing them out.

Teach kids that the more we recycle, the less waste there will be in landfills.

Paper, bottles, and other things should all be recycled in order to keep the environment clean and reduce pollution.

Following your discussion, you may also glue other objects to the printable trash truck craft template.

Put paper scraps, candy wrappers, and anything else you can find on the garbage truck craft to serve as waste.

This way, children will understand what a trash truck collects.

3. Community Helpers

This printable trash truck craft template provides a number of learning opportunities for children.

Kids can learn about community helpers, their responsibilities, and their significance in the community while making this craft.

They can also learn new vocabulary and how to communicate and interact with our community volunteers.

Since we’re working with the trash truck craft, we can focus on the responsibilities and importance of a waste collector.

They play a significant part in the community by collecting waste, recycling it, and taking it to landfills.

By helping us manage our waste and maintaining a clean environment, waste collectors ease and make our lives simpler.

If you have ever interacted with a waste collector, please be kind and respectful to them as their job is not as simple as it may seem.

Another fun activity you may include in your preschool activities is a community helper day at school.

Invite a waste collector over so that the kids may interact with them.

Waste collectors are more knowledgeable about their work process and have a better understanding of how a trash truck operates.

Allow the children to dress up as community helpers as well!

4. Shape Recognition

Are you wondering how to teach shapes to children in a way that will keep them interested for a long time?

Kids enjoy playing games, so we’ll include one that teaches them about shapes.

You can use this printable trash truck craft template idea into your home or classroom math lessons.

This game is suitable for both groups and individuals.

When the children have finished their trash truck crafts, why not have them try building their own trash truck out of cardboard cutouts?

Before we start, get your paint, scissors, and cardboard ready.

Start by cutting various shapes out of a piece of cardboard.

Make sure a trash truck can be constructed out of the shapes.

Cut out different forms, including rectangles, circles, squares, and ovals.

Apply vibrant paint colors to the cardboard cutouts.

Allow the children to explore and play with the shapes when they have dried.

You may begin your shape lesson by asking them whether they know what shape they are holding or playing with.

Using the cardboard cutouts, let kids create a variety of figures.

Then, challenge them to construct a garbage truck using the cutouts.

You can either instruct them or use the printable trash truck craft template as a guide.

May all of these printable trash truck craft template ideas help you have a great time learning this weekend!

We always enjoy sharing concepts that make it easier and more manageable for parents to organize and plan their children’s activities.

Paper Plate Garbage Truck Craft

SKIP THE FLUFF AND GET TO CRAFTING NOW! -

More times than not, our book choices these days are solely based off of the titles.

Once a month, when the scholastic book order form comes home from school, I get online and search their site for the “kookiest” or just plain clever book titles that I know will peak the interest of my son.

Hence – how this Paper Plate Garbage Truck craft was born and inspired by the book “I Stink” by Kate and Jim McMullan.

For fans of Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site and Steam Train, Dream Train comes a noisy addition to the hilarious read-aloud series from Kate and Jim McMullan, the popular creators of I’m Bad! and I’m Dirty!

“Know what I do at night while you’re asleep? Eat your trash, that’s what!”

With ten wide tires, one really big appetite, and an even bigger smell, this garbage truck’s got it all. His job? Eating your garbage and loving every stinky second of it! And you thought nighttime was just for sleeping.

This book gets some really good belly giggles out of my son AND since the main character that wheels {because BIG wheels is ALL he talks about these days} it seemed only fitting that we add it to our truck themed book collection AND make a four wheeled craft because of it!

Anyways – long story short, I hope this quick garbage truck themed craft idea inspires you to not only get crafty with your little one but also get the book as well!

Do-it-yourself rubbish crafts

Every day, people throw away household waste in the form of plastic bottles, cardboard shoe boxes, sweets, disposable tableware, CDs, and other old things. But from this seemingly unnecessary garbage, you can make interesting things, developing imagination and motor skills. A person does not risk anything, the thing is still subject to disposal, why not try to give it a second life.

Probably, all people, being of school age, elementary grades, did crafts as homework. If earlier crafts were mainly made from cones, acorns using matches, now you can use plastic, for example, bottles. What can be made from them: various toys, crafts for school, coasters, playground decoration, vases, flowers, decorations.

By making small steps with two plastic bottles, fastening them with a transparent tape, you can easily make a boat or a flower. You can also build a beautiful playground from bottles. By cutting green bottles into strips, attaching them to a stick, you can imitate a palm tree. The neck of the bottle is well suited for the role of the muzzle of the pig, and the lid is suitable for the heel.

Do not throw old newspapers and magazines into the bin, they will be useful for creating interesting and, most importantly, useful things. For example, needlewomen construct interesting and beautiful wicker baskets, caskets and other items from old newspapers.

Walnut shells that people eat should also not be thrown away, it can be perfect for creating a ladybug, you just need to show a little imagination and pick up paint.

DIY crafts from large and small boxes

In no case should large or small paper boxes be thrown into the trash, because it is easy to make a lot of very effective crafts from them: a car, a house in a nursery, a crib for dolls, a jewelry box, a children's toy furniture, etc.

Large boxes from refrigerators, stoves are very suitable for creating children's toy furniture. Small boxes can come in handy in order to build beds for toys. You can also make a sleeping place for your four-legged friend out of the box. For decoration, you can use beautiful candy boxes. For example, you can make an interesting panel by pasting the box with various colors and patterns. The box is attached to the wall with glue or screws. Also boxes can be used as shelves for things that are not too heavy in weight.

Don't throw away old CDs either. From scratched and unnecessary discs, you can make interesting coasters. Having sheathed the disk on top with soft material, you can make an interesting pincushion for storing needles, stealth. Old disks will also come in handy for making a toy stove, for which a box of purchased items will also come in handy. Having glued the paper crumpled into a ball with pieces of a cut disk, you get a disco ball. By directing rays of light at it, you can see an interesting projection on the walls and ceiling.

From old clothes and old bags, it is not so difficult to sew many interesting things for children with your own hands, for example: straps, buttons, doll blankets and pillows, rugs.

You can make hallway rugs out of old things. For example, a part of a winter jacket, namely a part of the back, is suitable for this. Faux fur will be happy to be chosen by a pet in its sleeping place. It is important to remember that each such craft made from household household waste, created by oneself, is of great benefit to the ecology of our planet.

Garbage truck. GCD on ecology for children of the middle group “We don't need garbage

Course of the lesson.

1. Opening speech of the teacher. Emotional mood.

All the children gathered in a circle.

I am your friend and you are my friend.

Let's hold hands tightly

And let's smile at each other.

Is everyone in a good mood?

Teacher: - Guys! Soon, namely on April 22, all over the world, once again, people will celebrate the holiday "Earth Day". On this day, those who are not indifferent to the fate of our common home are trying to do something good, useful for planet Earth: plant a tree, remove garbage, make a birdhouse. And I invite you to become participants in the environmental game "Garbage Scavenger".

Guys, do you know what ecology is? (Children's answers)

Teacher: - Ecology is the science of our huge house, which is called planet Earth.

There is a huge house on earth

Under a blue roof.

The sun lives in it,

rain and thunder,

Forest and sea surf.

Birds and flowers live in it,

Spring ringing of a stream,

You live in that bright house YOU

And all your friends.

Wherever the roads lead,

You will always be in it.

NATURE of native land

This house is called.

Teacher: - What is there on our planet? (Children's answers)

(Teacher explains and demonstrates "House Planet Earth")

Teacher: - There are many beautiful things on the planet: rivers and seas, mountains and waterfalls, trees, flowers and herbs, birds and animals, insects and fish. And nature has created people. And we are all neighbors on the planet. Our planet has everything to make all its inhabitants feel good and comfortable here. But let's look around. Is it really all that good?

Watch the video "Nature asks for help"

2. Problem situation "Where does the garbage come from?"

Teacher: -What feelings did these shots evoke in you? Why?

Today in class we will talk about how to make our house cleaner.

And what is the main enemy of purity? (Children's answers)

Teacher: - Of course, garbage.

I suggest you listen to a story that happened to the boys from the neighboring yard. (Slide - clean playground)

Mini scene "In the yard" (The teacher reads the text, two boys act out the read text and scatter the trash)

Two friends Pasha and Misha

One day they went out for a walk.

There is a great place near their porch:

Not far from the house there is a football field,

And various swings, there is a slide, roundabouts.

Our children are walking,

They drink juice, chew sweets,

And colorful candy wrappers

Throw them into front gardens.

Cartons fly in all directions from the juice...

All rubbish goes past the trash bin,

After all, children are cultureless!

And in the morning Pasha and Misha

They went out into their yard again.

What do they see? On site

Bags, rubbish, pieces of paper.

The juice is spilled on the hill,

And the glass is broken there...

And who is all this "miracle"

Left here everywhere?

(children's answers)

3. Interactive conversation.

Teacher: - Do you guys like this yard? Do you want to play on such a platform? Why? (Slide - dirty playground)

(children's answers)

Teacher: - Who leaves all this rubbish? ( Trash slide)

( Answers of children. - It is produced by the person himself)

(Going back to the House layout)

Teacher: - Garbage is a human creation. Neither animals nor plants create garbage. This man is polluting the earth. How do you think garbage harms "House of Nature"? (Children's answers. "The house" is being destroyed)

Teacher: - How can you and I help our planet? (Children's answers)

Teacher: - I suggest you go out for a subbotnik and collect all the rubbish. -What is a subbotnik you know? ( Children's answers)

Do you keep your house clean? What are you doing? And in nature, we will also restore order.

4. Game "Gather garbage together"

Teacher: - Well done guys! It's clean and comfortable again. If people go out on subbotniks, it will be cleaner around and people will appreciate their work and the work of other people.

Now let's see what we throw away? ( looking at rubbish in hoops)

(The guys answer. These are paper, bottle caps, plastic and glass bottles, cans, plastic bags, yogurt jars, packing boxes, broken and worn items, peels, wrappers, etc.)

Teacher: - We throw everything that we no longer need into the trash can. And where next?

(Children's answers. We take out the garbage from the bucket to the trash, into a container, etc.)

Teacher : - We bring the empty bucket home, and again we begin to accumulate garbage. And so every day! At the same time, do not forget that, as a rule, from several thousand to several million people live in the city, and everyone carries their garbage into these same containers. (Slide - container overflowing with garbage)

5. Information block "Where does the garbage go?"

- Every modern city solves the question: where to put the garbage? And how many of you guys have thought about where the garbage from the containers goes? Where will we find a place for him in our "House of Nature"? (Layout)

(Children's answers) (Garbage is taken out of containers by garbage trucks, etc. ) (Slide - dump outside the city)

Landfills outside the cities where garbage is dumped reach gigantic proportions. From them, an unpleasant smell spreads over a long distance. In landfills, a large number of flies, mice, rats - carriers of diseases - breed.

Watching the video film “How does garbage change?”

Teacher : - What did you learn about where the garbage goes?

(Answers of children. - Nowhere.)

Teacher :- What is happening to him?

(Children's answers.- He turns into something else.)

Teacher: - And all this garbage can lie in the ground for years, littering it. And burning garbage is harmful, because toxic gases are released that are dangerous to health. How to be? How to reduce the amount of garbage?

(Children's answers. - Separate parts of garbage can be recycled and create new things. This is how we save money and remove excess garbage. )

Teacher: - Things that can be recycled into new (disposal) are currently marked with a special sign.

(Slide - recycling mark)

6. Game "Find the recycling sign".

(Children are invited to find among the collected items those with a “recycling” sign.)

Teacher: - It is very difficult to pull out separate necessary fragments suitable for processing from the general garbage heap. Therefore, you need to learn how to sort garbage already at home. In many countries, and today we in Russia have special containers. They are painted in different colors and the garbage must be placed in them separately.

(Slide - containers of different colors)

Paper in blue, plastic in yellow and glass in green.

Teacher: - The things we use are made from different materials: paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic. Now we will try to determine what material this or that object is made of. I'll show some piece of garbage, and you say what material it is made of. (Shows candy wrapper, cookie box, torn sock, plastic bottle, tin can.)

(Guys answer.)

Teacher: - And now I propose a game.

7. The game "We sort the garbage correctly"

( Children are offered containers with conventional signs, teams need to sort the garbage that they have collected into hoops. Teams stand in front of the containers, near special landmarks. Team players take turns reaching the hoop with garbage, take the garbage and carry it to the container with the required conditional sign. The team that not only quickly, but also correctly sorted the garbage wins.)

Teacher: - Well done guys, you did a great job. Now let's see where our trash goes next.

Watching the video film "Where does the garbage go from the container?" - -Where did they send the garbage from the containers? What's going on with him there?

Teacher:- So, some household waste can be recycled so as not to pollute the environment once again. However, there is still a lot of it left.

Teacher: - But we are in a hurry to throw some items into the trash, not thinking that they can still serve people. For example, glass bottles and jars. They can be used many times. Surely at home, mom and grandmother make jam, pickle cucumbers, and jars can come in handy for this. Very often children break toys and throw them away. But you can sew a severed paw on a teddy bear, fix a car or give a boring toy to someone who needs it more, for example, to a kindergarten or a friend. There are people who know how to give a second life to seemingly unnecessary things.

(Slide - crafts from waste material)

Teacher:- Guys, what do you think, before, 100-200 years ago, there was garbage?

(children's answers)

Now we will go back in time and try to answer this question.

(Slide showing - earthenware, towel, wooden spoons, iron iron, bast shoes, wicker bread box, etc. )

8. Virtual tour " History Page"

Teacher: - Why was there no garbage before?

(children's answers)

Teacher: - Wooden, if broken, burned in the oven;

Unusable iron things were melted down in the forge for something else;

The clothes were so strong that they were passed down from grandmother to granddaughter.

When was nature cleaner? (Children's answers)

9. Closing remarks.

Teacher: Today we have only slightly opened the doors of an important environmental problem. We know that fish need clean water, animals need clean forests, birds need clean air. Let's protect the "House of Nature" from destruction. Let's keep order in it, protect it from garbage. After all, it depends on each of us.

(The House of Nature layout is being restored)

10. The game "It depends on each of you."

(After the phrase I uttered, you must say the appropriate word - “good”, a positive effect on nature; “bad”, a negative effect on nature. )

Throw rubbish anywhere.

Give things a second life.

Leave garbage in the forest, near a pond, at a place of rest.

Sort garbage properly;

Use exercise books, paper (eg back side) sparingly.

Disturb animals, destroy anthills, bird nests.

Equip and clean recreation areas

Break plants, pluck flowers

Protect and feed animals and birds

Participate in subbotniks

Teacher: - If each of us follows these rules, the world around us will become a little cleaner.

11. Summary of the lesson

Teacher : - Our lesson has come to an end. Did you like it? If yes, show the sun.

If not, a cloud.

What new and interesting things have you learned? (children's answers)

What conclusion did you come to, what did you think about? (children's answers)

Teacher : Let's remember that our planet is our common home, this is both yours and mine. Guys, let's take care of our Earth, not throw garbage in the forest, in rivers, ponds, but we'll think about how to find a use for it. Do you agree about me?

Then I propose to take the oath of the "Young Defender of Nature."

Young Defender of Nature Oath

We will protect the nature

And we won't let you get offended,

We will protect it

And guard it from garbage!

Caretaker : Guys, a letter came to our kindergarten today. Let's read it together.

The teacher reads the letter :

"Hello guys! I love children very much who litter and litter everything around them. Last night I was walking in your garden. There was a very clean clearing, and now the whole clearing is heavily trampled, empty cans, bottles, paper, leftovers from food and rags are lying everywhere, Beautiful! If you love too litter come to my meadow. "Your Angry - Dirty.

Educator : Guys, what are we going to do? We must save our clearing from Zlyuchka - Mud. Let's go by car. Grab your wheels and let's go.

We are going to the music.

Caretaker : Well, here we are!

Children go to a clearing where rubbish is scattered : glass bottle, plastic, tin can, paper, candy wrappers and plastic bags, leaves.

Caretaker : Guys, this is the same clearing. Do you like this field?

Answers children .

Caretaker : Would you like to rest on it? Why? How do you think we can help?

Answers children .

Caretaker : How to clean up garbage ? That's right, we will put on gloves so as not to get hurt or dirty and we will collect garbage in bags .

Children wear disposable gloves and collect rubbish .

We are walking along the street where we live,

We collect and put pieces of paper and glass.

Once in a bucket, and twice in a basket,

We tilt our back together.

If we work together

Everything around will change!

Caretaker : Well done! Well, what's better in the meadow? Guys, what do you think, where do we put garbage ?

Answers children .

Caretaker : That's right, brought here garbage people and they must take it with them. Here we will take it with us. Well, guys, we're on the road again, we get in the car and go home.

Children ride the train to the music. They sit on chairs.

Caretaker : You guys did a great job cleaning up rubbish in the clearing . What do you think will happen if everyone leaves garbage ? Presentation.

Every day we throw away various packaging, cans, bottles, plastic and plastic items and much more. Each person throws out kilograms of garbage per day (shows a bag with a kilogram of garbage - that's a lot ) . Garbage is taken out by special machines and sent to a landfill. The landfill is an accumulation of garbage . Garbage emits toxic substances, and this is dangerous to human health. Can you imagine how much garbage accumulating on the ground? All this does not disappear without a trace, all this accumulates and pollutes our planet. In addition to landfills, there are waste processing plants , where, after special processing of materials, a new material is obtained, from which new useful products are already being made.

Caretaker : Let's think about what can be done from a plastic bottle?

Estimated responses children .

A bottle can be used to make a vase for flowers, a pencil holder.

Simulator: Garbage Truck

Garbage Truck Drive

Every day a huge garbage truck cleans the city from tons of garbage. But do you have any idea what kind of work it is? In the free online game "Simulator: Garbage Truck" you have the opportunity to find out. As the name implies, this game genre is a simulator that allows you to try on the role of an action. This is a small game with simple gameplay, but nevertheless, it requires dexterity and accuracy. At each level you have to complete different tasks. They are mainly associated with garbage collection. On the map you can see the points where the garbage containers are located. You need to carefully drive up to them and load the waste into the garbage truck. You only need the arrow keys to control. But the difficulty lies in the fact that you cannot collide into objects even once. And sometimes, to do this, you have to try very hard. Also, you must not collide with the dumpster itself, so as not to fail the game "Simulator: Garbage Truck". Good luck!

I made five wastebasket-like containers in Photoshop for the respective groups. Each container has an inscription of the material that needs to be put into it: glass, plastic, paper, metal, food waste.
Students task: determine the material from which the object is made and sort into categories.
The child is offered an ecological situation: “People came for a picnic and left garbage behind. Help sort it into containers "Paper", "Plastic", "Glass", "Metal" and "Food Waste". This element is in the form of an image with slots and pockets.
