    servings:

    Step cooking

    Cooking time: 1 h PT1H
    1. Step 1:

How to make onigiri at home? Prepare food. This amount of ingredients is enough for three large or four medium onigiri. Take special rice for sushi. If you don’t find this, then the most common Krasnodar, round-grain will do.

    2. Step 2:

Wash rice in several waters until transparent. Then fill it with cold water and set to boil over high heat. After boiling, turn the heat to medium and cook the rice under the lid until the water has completely evaporated, 15-20 minutes. Pour sugar and salt into rice vinegar, mix. Pour the mixture into the hot rice, stir and leave to cool. Instead of rice vinegar, you can take regular table vinegar, 9%.

    3. Step 3:

Prepare stuffing. I have salted salmon, fresh cucumber and avocado. Crab sticks, tuna, chicken, mushrooms are also suitable. Choose your toppings according to your taste. Cut the fillings into small pieces.

    4. Step 4:

It remains to form the onigiri. You can do it on a plate, in the palm of your hand or, like me, on a bag. Put the rice in a thin flat cake on the bag. Place the filling in the middle. Also add some cream cheese.

    5. Step 5:

Gather the ends of the bag into a knot so that the filling is inside the rice. Tamp it down into a triangle, the traditional shape of an onigiri. Open the bag and place the rice where needed. It will be more convenient to take onigiri with hands dipped in cold water - so rice will not stick to them.

    6. Step 6:

Shape all onigiri in the same way.

    7. Step 7:

Wrap a piece of nori around one end of the onigiri for easy handling.
