Making an ‘O is for octopus craft’ is a fun way to introduce a new letter. This Letter O Craft is one of our favorite letter O activities for preschoolers because the word octopus starts with O and the letter craft is shaped like the letter O. This letter O preschool craft works well at home or in the preschool classroom.

Preschoolers can either draw the letter O shape themselves or use our letter O template. Our favorite part of this letter craft is attaching pom poms and googly eyes to make an octopus!

This is what you will need to make a preschool octopus craft!Supplies needed
- Blue construction paper
- Small pom poms

Instructions For Letter O Preschool Craft: Octopus
Step 1 – Create the Letter O Shape
Trace and cut out letter O or download, print and cut out this letter O template:

Step 2 – Give Craft a Canvas Foundation
Glue the letter O onto the piece of construction paper of a contrasting color.
Step 3 – Add the Octopus Details to the Letter O
- For the octopus eyes: Add the googly eyes to the top of the O with glue.
- For the octopus tentacles: Use strips of construction paper to glue to the bottom of the O to make tentacles.
- For the octopus suckers: Glue pom poms to the tentacles of your letter o octopus craft.

Letter O Octopus Craft | All Kids Network
This Letter O Octopus craft is one of our favorites. Using our provided template and some construction paper it is really easy to turn the letter O into an octopus.
We made our Letter O Octopus orange to continue the "o" trend. We used a letter "o" stamp to add the suckers onto his tentacles which even further enhanced learning about the letter. Our daughter practiced making the sound the letter �o' says the whole time she was stamping! Our orange Letter O octopus craft would make a wonderful ocean craft as well, but it is also a great letter of the week craft or simple alphabet craft for your little one to make.
Craft Video Craft Materials Craft Steps
What You'll Need
- Letter O Octopus Template
- Orange Construction paper
- Letter O stamp (could use anything really, even a piece uncooked tubular pasta would work)
- Stamp pad or paint
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly eyes
- Black marker or crayon
STEP 1
Print our template and cut out the pieces.
Trace the letter o onto construction paper and cut it out, including cutting out and discarding the center piece.
STEP 2
Trace the tentacle template onto orange paper and cut out eight tentacles total.
STEP 3
Glue the tentacles to the back of the letter O.
STEP 4
Flip the octopus over. Glue on his googly eyes and draw on his mouth.
STEP 5
Use your stamper to stamp "o's" along each tentacle.
STEP 6
Done! You have finished creating the letter O octopus craft.
