A strange letter from a student to a teacher made the Internet laugh

A tweet from a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, who, in a state of unconsciousness, wrote a long letter to her teacher, is being discussed on social networks. In the message, a 19-year-old girl named Abby Jo Hamily confessed to calling the teacher "buddy" and confessing her love to him, although she herself does not remember this.

Shortly before this, a student had her wisdom teeth removed using a powerful painkiller that causes problems with consciousness and memory. Not having time to move away from anesthesia, the girl rushed to write an e-mail to the teacher Kevin Patton with a request to extend the deadline for accepting her work.

BuzzFeed paid attention to the girl's story. The content of the misspelled letter was:

"I understand you told us that we, as your students, could send you our prrrr work for you to review before returning it to Cowleen (apparently another teacher - ed. ) and it must be done by November 22.

Unfortunately I had my wisdom teeth removed and I don't respond very well to surgery and medication so I don't think I'll be able to finish by Tuesday. I want to do it well because in class I also like to do well.0010

Please sir, I've been working really hard and I thought I'd finish on time, but the grabber says I won't be back until Thanksgiving . If you say "no", then it's okay, although I will gruf but, but I really want you to answer in the affirmative. Thanks buddy Kevin.

Abby Jo Hamily (pronounced "ham-mill-lee" if you're interested)

p.s. I promise that I will answer your questions in class, there will be no more awkward silence. And I will buy felt-tip pens from you, which write normally (although the university itself must buy good felt-tip pens).

I love you bye."

According to the girl herself, she does not remember how she wrote and sent the letter. decided to share it with my Twitter followers.0003

"I sent this to my philosophy teacher when I was recovering from anesthesia. I'm done," she wrote. The girl's tweet collected more than 46 thousand likes, another 16 thousand people shared the record.

BuzzFeed contacted Kevin Patton, who told the publication he was "laughing hysterically as he read the letter." In the end, he responded to the student, calling her message "unorthodox", and also expressing the hope that her speech was more legible than the text of the letter. In addition, according to him, Abby was needlessly worried about the deadline for submitting the work - they could be handed over not until November 22, but until November 28.

In the comments to the girl's tweet, her subscribers "stolen into quotes" almost all the phrases from the letter to the teacher. “If I were a teacher, I would be proud that students call me buddy,” says one of their users. "This letter should be printed on a T-shirt," advises another. Many readers found the letter very sweet and decided that, under anesthesia, the girl wrote what she was embarrassed to say out loud.

In June, 9-year-old girl Abby Graham from Keau (Hawaii, USA) visited Paradise Park with her family and, while walking along the beach, came across a bottle, which, according to Abby, could contain a treasure.

In a sense, the young American was right: inside was a letter that had been sent 37 years ago from distant Japan. In the text of the message, there was a request to send a reply to Choshi High School, located in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. As part of the school curriculum in 1984, about 750 bottled messages were sent to the sea, written by students in different languages: English, Spanish and Japanese.

At the beginning of this month, Abby decided to answer a letter: the girl attached a photo of herself and her sister eating sushi. The letter from the little American was received by the director of the Choshi school, Jun Hayashi, who gave it to the author, 54-year-old Mayumi Kanda. The woman was very happy to receive a response to the message she sent while still a schoolgirl: it brought back many nostalgic memories for her, writes Unilad.

I am very grateful to the girl who examined the contents of the bottle and answered my letter, Mayumi Kanda reported.
