The story of Little Red Riding Hood

    [en español]

    by Leanne Guenther

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest.  Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One morning, Little Red Riding Hood asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.

"That's a good idea," her mother said.  So they packed a nice basket for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandmother.

When the basket was ready, the little girl put on her red cloak and kissed her mother goodbye.

"Remember, go straight to Grandma's house," her mother cautioned.  "Don't dawdle along the way and please don't talk to strangers!  The woods are dangerous."

"Don't worry, mommy," said Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll be careful."

But when Little Red Riding Hood noticed some lovely flowers in the woods, she forgot her promise to her mother.  She picked a few, watched the butterflies flit about for awhile, listened to the frogs croaking and then picked a few more.

Little Red Riding Hood was enjoying the warm summer day so much, that she didn't notice a dark shadow approaching out of the forest behind her...

Suddenly, the wolf appeared beside her.

"What are you doing out here, little girl?" the wolf asked in a voice as friendly as he could muster.

"I'm on my way to see my Grandma who lives through the forest, near the brook,"  Little Red Riding Hood replied.

Then she realized how late she was and quickly excused herself, rushing down the path to her Grandma's house.

The wolf, in the meantime, took a shortcut...

The wolf, a little out of breath from running, arrived at Grandma's and knocked lightly at the door.

"Oh thank goodness dear!  Come in, come in!  I was worried sick that something had happened to you in the forest," said Grandma thinking that the knock was her granddaughter.

The wolf let himself in.  Poor Granny did not have time to say another word, before the wolf gobbled her up!

The wolf let out a satisfied burp, and then poked through Granny's wardrobe to find a nightgown that he liked.  He added a frilly sleeping cap, and for good measure, dabbed some of Granny's perfume behind his pointy ears.

A few minutes later, Red Riding Hood knocked on the door.  The wolf jumped into bed and pulled the covers over his nose.  "Who is it?" he called in a cackly voice.

"It's me, Little Red Riding Hood."

"Oh how lovely!  Do come in, my dear," croaked the wolf.

When Little Red Riding Hood entered the little cottage, she could scarcely recognize her Grandmother.

"Grandmother!  Your voice sounds so odd.  Is something the matter?" she asked.

"Oh, I just have touch of a cold," squeaked the wolf adding a cough at the end to prove the point.

"But Grandmother!  What big ears you have," said Little Red Riding Hood as she edged closer to the bed.

"The better to hear you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandmother!  What big eyes you have," said Little Red Riding Hood.

"The better to see you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandmother!  What big teeth you have," said Little Red Riding Hood her voice quivering slightly.

"The better to eat you with, my dear," roared the wolf and he leapt out of the bed and began to chase the little girl.

Almost too late, Little Red Riding Hood realized that the person in the bed was not her Grandmother, but a hungry wolf.

She ran across the room and through the door, shouting, "Help!  Wolf!" as loudly as she could.

A woodsman who was chopping logs nearby heard her cry and ran towards the cottage as fast as he could.

He grabbed the wolf and made him spit out the poor Grandmother who was a bit frazzled by the whole experience, but still in one piece."Oh Grandma, I was so scared!"  sobbed Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll never speak to strangers or dawdle in the forest again."

"There, there, child.  You've learned an important lesson.   Thank goodness you shouted loud enough for this kind woodsman to hear you!"

The woodsman knocked out the wolf and carried him deep into the forest where he wouldn't bother people any longer.

Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother had a nice lunch and a long chat.

It became known who was hiding in the image of Little Red Riding Hood in the Avatar Show

    News

The fourth edition of the musical project from the creators of the Mask program was held on the NTV channel.

On September 23, the fourth episode of the Avatar Show took place on the NTV channel. This program is somewhat similar to the rating "Mask". The essence of the project is as follows: favorite characters from childhood come on stage - from fairy tale heroes to fantastic aliens from other galaxies. Thanks to motion capture technology (Motion Capture) and virtual reality (Virtual Reality), they perform various actions on the screen - they dance, fly, sing, and the stellar jury tries to guess who is hiding behind this or another avatar by voice, emotions and movements. Recall that the jury of the show includes five people: Timur Batrutdinov, Mark Tishman, Aida Garifullina, Ida Galich and Sergey Lazarev. The judges guess the artists hiding under the avatars, performing some popular song. For one issue, the jury members can identify up to three participants in the show, who, after exposure, are required to leave the program. And their places are taken by new artists. In the first edition of the show, the judges recognized Emelya, behind whose image was Garik Kharlamov, who performed the hit of the legendary Frank Sinatra.

In the second program, the jury, discussing the first three participants, recognized Alexander Shoua. Sergey Lazarev, at the very beginning of the composition by Phil Collins, performed by the Amphibian Man, called the name of Shaw.

In the third edition of "Show Avatar" the jury was lucky only when discussing the third trio. Snow White sang Anna Herman's hit "And I like him." Ida Galich suspected Masha Rasputina in this image: “Magnificent, incomparable with long legs!” Sergey Lazarev supported his colleague. Masha, who appeared on stage, admitted: “I needed to remember my childhood. I am a very capricious creature, but I liked everything here.

In the fourth edition, the second three were Little Red Riding Hood. “She is always with pies and the most slender!” the leader remarked. Little Red Riding Hood sang Dima Bilan's song "It was love." Sergey Lazarev, literally after the first words of the composition, got up from his chair with the words: “I know who it is, but I won’t tell!”. After the end of the number, Lazarev admitted: “Zara! I always root for Little Red Riding Hood - from the first broadcast. She can sing in different ways. All members of the jury agreed with Lazarev. At the nomination, they decided to declassify Little Red Riding Hood. All members of the jury agreed that under the avatar is the singer Zara.

    Singer Zara

Zara, who appeared on stage, confessed to the jury: “I tried to confuse you all. I am most uncomfortable in front of Mark Tishman. Remember when you asked me: “Are you by any chance in the Avatar Show?”. The singer performed an encore of the most complex composition of the diva Plavalaguna from Luc Besson's film The Fifth Element, and Aida Garifullina, sitting on the jury, emotionally sang along with her. The fourth edition of the show turned out to be the first program in which the jury declassified two heroes at once: Little Red Riding Hood and the Little Mermaid.

The fourth episode of the Avatar show was released on NTV on September 24, 2022. The jury of the project - Sergey Lazarev, Aida Garifullina, Timur Batrutdinov, Ida Galich and Mark Tishman - continue to declassify who is hiding behind digital fairy-tale characters. Previously, Emelya (Garik Kharlamov), Amphibian Man (Alexander Shoua from the Nepara group) and Snow White (Masha Rasputina) were revealed.

The avatar of Little Red Riding Hood was revealed, it turned out to be Zara

According to the results of the performance of the first trio of avatars, which included Pinocchio, Thumbelina and Dunno, the jury issued a verdict: to reveal the identity of Thumbelina, who performed the composition "In Memory of Caruso". The judges were unanimous in their opinion that this was Anita Tsoi, but they were mistaken.

The second three were Little Red Riding Hood, Goblin and Mary Poppins. The jury was in solidarity in choosing their nominee: Little Red Riding Hood, who performed Dima Bilan's hit "It was love." In the name of the participant, the judges were unanimous: this is the singer Zara. And they turned out to be right! “How did you lead us by the nose, how did you try to deceive us! It was just brilliant: an incredible voice, an incredible presentation, we were all in love with you from the first release!” Sergey Lazarev admitted.

Mark Tishman stressed that Zara managed to create a unique image and character of the character, filling it with mysticism and hypnosis. The singer admitted in response: “Mark, most of all I was uncomfortable in front of you. When you casually asked me: “Are you by any chance not in Avatar?” I said: "No, I have such a busy tour schedule." Zara said the jury was not easy to fool and mislead. For an encore, the singer performed the aria of Plavalaguna from The Fifth Element, with which she made her debut in the show, and received a separate boast from the opera diva Aida Garifullina.

The avatar of the Little Mermaid was revealed, it turned out to be Elena Sparrow

The third three participants were Jean, The Little Mermaid and a new character - Koschey the Immortal, who performed the Galibri & Mavik hit Federico Fellini. Based on the results of the performance of the avatars, it was decided by a majority of votes to reveal the Little Mermaid. And, although Ida Galich insisted that Anna Semenovich was hiding behind the heroine, the rest of the jury called the name of Elena Sparrow and guessed it.

To the admiration of the judges, the artist who appeared on the stage answered: “What are you happy about? How short was my swim!” Galich admired the appearance of the performer, calling all her performances in the show grandiose. Tishman remembered one of the Little Mermaid's numbers with the song "Your Traces", which for him is a masterpiece. Garifullina appreciated the multifaceted talent of the actress, and Lazarev was surprised by the vocal range and the incredible power of her voice.

“It was a special happiness for me to sound my own voice in this program,” Sparrow said. “For a person who is engaged in parody, it’s like a real treasure when you throw other people’s timbres aside and can play with your own voice.” For an encore, the singer performed the legendary song by Igor Nikolaev and Natasha Koroleva "Dolphin and Mermaid".
