Hi! I’m Mike the Knight, and I’m a knight-in-training! And this is my dragon friend, Squirt. Hello! Welcome to our home, Glendragon Castle! This is my bedroom with many knightly things, like my archery bull’s-eye. Bull’s-eye! Oh, you did it, Mike! Thanks, Squirt! If I practise enough, when I grow up I’ll be like my dad, the king! I’ll have a kingly suit of armour, a golden crown, and a fancy shield . . . just like my dad. Shields are my favourite knightly things. My shields aren’t as fancy as my dad’s, but I love them. Oh, my catapult. Let me show you! Watch this! Huzzah! Okay! Now, where was I? Oh, Squirt, what’s your favourite thing in my knightly bedroom? Squirt? Squirt? Where did Squirt go? Did you see where he went? Hmmm . . . Squirt? Squirt? Oh, hi, Galahad! Did you see where Squirt went? You did? By the king’s crown. That’s it! I’m Mike the Knight, and my mission is to find Squirt! Let’s use our knightly skills and search for him. To the stables! Huzzah! Galahad, it’s time to find Squirt! Did you see where he went? Behind your straw bed? Not there. Can you see Squirt anywhere? How about over by Galahad’s ribbons? Oh, our yellow ribbon. We won that for tricky trotting. Galahad, you’re so talented. Do you want me to brush your hair? Squirt! Where? Can you see him? Whoa! Mike? Are you okay? Yes, thanks, Sparkie. We’re looking for Squirt. Oh! Is he in the treasure room? Um . . . I heard something . . . Huzzah! To the treasure room! Okay, Sparkie! Where did you see Squirt? There! He’s not here! Whoops. Where could he be? Hmm. Behind this treasure chest? Oh, my gold coins! Hmm, not here. Sparkie . . . maybe by the trophies. Let’s look over there. That’s my favourite trophy! We won it together with Squirt in the Great Race. Squirt? Squirt? Squirt? I don’t think he’s in the treasure room either. Mr. Cuddles! This is my sister Evie’s pet frog. Mr. Cuddles, have you seen Squirt? Yes! To Evie’s workshop! Evie, we’re looking for Squirt. Have you seen him? No. You’re right, Mr Cuddles! I could help you with one of my magic spells. Evie’s a wizard-in-training. She can cast a spell. Hmm, I could try this spell . . . Well . . . I know! I’ve found it! I'm going to try a reappearing spell! Magic powers, far and near, I can make you reappear! Evie! That didn’t work. And now I have Squirt’s wings! Get me down! Oops, sorry! Ah . . . I see what I did wrong! Can you fix it? I’ll try. Magic powers, far and near, I can make you reappear! Evie, your reappearing spell worked! Well, it kind of worked. It looks like Evie’s spell says Squirt is in the throne room with Mum! Let’s find out. To the throne room! Wait for me, Mike! Come on Mr. Cuddles. Mum, Evie’s spell says Squirt might be in the throne room with you. Have you seen him? Erm . . . I'm not sure. Hmm. Can you see him in here? You can? Where? Ta-da! Squirt! Huzzah! Squirt, where have you been? We’ve been looking all over for you. I hope you like your present, Mike! I made it! A new shield! Is this for me? Thank you! It has everything that is special to me from the castle. Squirt was so fast! Did you see him collect all those things for my shield? Hey, look. Okay, Squirt, I’m ready! Huzzah! It’s perfect! This will help me with my knightly training. I’ll use it on my next mission! Well done, Squirt. Huzzah!

REVIEW - Fisher-Price Mike the Knight: Glendragon Castle Playset

We'd love it if you shared it!

One of my nephew’s favorite characters is Mike The Knight. As soon as I saw the Fisher-Price Mike the Knight: Glendragon Castle Playset

I thought of him immediately and invited him over. He was so excited when he saw the box I knew watching his face when he actually got to play with it was going to be really something.

The Mike the Knight: Glendragon Castle Playset is made of the same durable material as many other Fisher-Price playsets. The playset comes with the Glendragon Castle, Mike the Knight, Galahad the horse, a catapult and boulder, and a zipline. The playset didn’t require much assembly.

Once unboxed and assembled, the playset looks like the picture on the box. Sounds funny, but sometimes boxes don’t give the whole picture. Pun intended.

The castle has a working drawbridge, which can be used for Mike to cross, or as a peeky hole. The peeky hole approach is really cute, by the way. To lower the drawbridge you press the red shield on the inner castle wall.

Up on the second level, the Potion Room has a revolving door that spins so Mike can get to the outside of the castle. I think of it as a balcony, because there’s no stairs so Mike can’t go anywhere. Over in the bedroom, if you flip Mike’s bed over you’ll find a hidden chute that he can slide down to get to Galahad. Wheee!

If you remember your history, you might recall that back in the day, catapults were how a castle protected itself. The Glendragon Castle has a working catapult. It doesn’t go super far on it’s own, but if you worry about things like this either aim it away from the windows or just draw the curtains.

A zip line attaches to the top of the castle on one end and the top of a pole on the other. I was a little disappointed with the zip line, because Mike the Knight drops down it in literally two seconds like a stone. We found the zip line worked a little better if we held the pole up a little, because that decreased how steep the drop from top to bottom was. What I think really would have been neat would be if the zip line went from the revolving door on the second level to the ground. The angle wouldn’t be quite as steep that way and it would just be a cool way to get out of the castle.

The Fisher-Price Mike the Knight: Glendragon Castle Playset has an SRP of $35.00.

Knight of Passion - Margaret Mallory Jamie asked, glancing first at one end of the corridor, then at the other.

That's the point of being caught, but Lynette wasn't going to tell Jamie about it. She looked up at him:

— Maybe you don't want to?

The darkening of his eyes took her breath away.

“You know what I want,” he said, touching her cheek.

Goosebumps ran from this touch. If she's not careful, then Jamie can make her forget about the goal.

She felt a pang of guilt for not telling him. None of the young men in court would care about her reasons if she dragged one of them into an empty bedroom. But Jamie would have refused if he had known. That stubborn sense of honor, even if it was superfluous, was one of the things she liked best about him.

"Everyone's in celebration," she assured him.

The celebrations that began with the triumphal entry of the English King Henry V and his French princess Catherine of Valois into Paris continued throughout the entire Advent.

"But the guest occupying this bedroom can return at any time," Jamie protested.

He sucked in a sharp breath as she ran her finger across his chest.

"If you're going to be a shy hare," she teased him, "I'll find someone else."

Jamie's boyish softness was blown away by the wind. He grabbed her hand and jerked open the bedroom door. Before she could blink, she was already in the room, her back against the door. Jamie kissed her long and hard.

- Never say you're going with someone else! he growled, holding her chin. “Never say that.

You are the only one I want.

It was true, but Linnet regretted telling him. He sees more in it than he should.

“It's the same with me,” he whispered, and leaned his forehead against hers.

She closed her eyes, snuggled up to him, and inhaled his scent. He could be such a sweet and gentle boy. But she didn't know how much time she had.

“Now,” she whispered in his ear, “I want to do it now.

When she lowered her hand to be sure and stroked him, he let out something between a growl and a groan and lifted her off the floor. Men are so predictable, so easily manipulated, that there is almost no challenge in it. And yet his reaction was so pleasant.

He immediately carried her to the bed, and for a moment Linnet allowed herself to savor the thought of how angry Alain, her so-called father, would be. He will curse this day.

But wait a minute, as Jamie put her on the bed and began to kiss, she forgot about Alain and her plans for revenge. She had no control here. The fire had been raging in them since the day Jamie arrived in Paris with the king. And no matter how much they secretly retired, the fire flared up only hotter. Now she gave herself to him, forgetting about everything in the world, as it was every time.

Afterward, she lay in Jamie's arms, wishing that these moments of pleasure and bliss could not last forever.

"I sent a letter to my parents," Jamie said, rubbing his cheek against the top of her head. “I suppose my father will grant me some small estate for our engagement.”

Her heart began to race.

- Engagement? You didn't talk to me about any engagement.

— Should I have? She heard the smile in his voice. “After what we did, I thought it was obvious.

— But you never told me, never asked me to be your wife.

"I see I made a terrible mistake," he said cheerfully. “Okay, then let me ask now. My dear Linnet, love of my heart, will you marry me, will you be my wife?

- No, I won't.

— What? Jamie sat up and leaned over her. “I’m sorry if I offended you by not directly talking about it earlier. You know that I love you.

Men say this all the time.

"But I'm serious," he said, stroking her cheek with his thumb. “And I will love you even when only memories remain of your beauty.”

They didn't move the curtains of the bed. In the sunlight streaming in from the high window, Linnet could see the strong lines of his handsome face, the intense look in his violet-blue eyes. She didn't mean to hurt him. Why didn't he tell her this before?

She reached out and cupped his cheek in her hand.

- You will always be special to me, like my first lover.

- First lover! His fingers dug into her arm. After a second, he released her and flopped back onto the bed. “How you love to torment me with your teasing. But sometimes you go too far.

Why do men never believe what you say? They are convinced that "no" means "maybe" and "I despise you" means "I don't want you to write me crappy poetry. "

"I don't want to be your wife," she told Jamie. “I don’t want some man to tell me what to do all my life.

Jamie laughed:

— As if I would dare.

- But as if not. All men do this.

He turned on his side, a strand of black hair fell into his eyes.

Let's pretend for a moment that you're not joking. What choice do you have other than marriage? I somehow do not imagine you as a nun.

Linnet patted his arm as he reached for her breasts.

I can have a short marriage.

- Short? he asked, raising his eyebrows.

“Yes, with some old man who will leave me a rich widow,” she said. “Or I could become a famous courtesan.

The bed shook with Jamie's laughter.

— I try to be honest with you! she protested, tapping him on the shoulder.

"You are beautiful enough to be the most famous courtesan in all of France," he said, pulling her towards him. “And you know it very well. But enough of this nonsense. We need to make a plan.

She could just as well talk to the wall. Linnet pushed him away and sat up, hugging her knees. To tell the truth, she couldn't imagine how she could let someone else touch her the way Jamie did. But her plans required independence and her own money.

Whenever her resolve weakened, she thought of the scoundrels who had robbed her grandfather, who had lost his mind at the end of his life. These were people he had done business with for many years, people he trusted and lent money to in times of trouble. Not even an hour had passed since his death, when the same people carried everything of value from the house in Falaise. Because of them, she and Francois, her twin brother, had to steal food to survive, even before the British siege began.

He appears on a full moon, a knight with a lowered visor on a phantom horse. Since he left the earth, there is neither evil nor good in him. His riches are incalculable, like stars in the sky, like the silvery reflections of the moon on the water. But woe to the one who, by the will of fate, became his debtor. Anyone who has a corner for greed in his soul will face severe trials.

— Why are you working so hard? And what do you want in return?

“So, nothing,” the witch looked down modestly. “Just let me come to the sky-high castle from time to time.

It was a smart move. The sorceress believed that it was easy for the Moon Knight to allow her to visit the heavenly halls from time to time. You won't get away from the castle. But if the wizarding brethren get wind of this, everyone will immediately realize that she has a powerful patron.

The impudence of the Witch stunned the knight. How can a dishonest witch, who weaves intrigues and does everything only for her own self-interest, enter his heavenly castle!

He was going to incinerate her on the spot, but restrained himself, remembering that he himself had acted dishonestly, having appropriated the magic treasure and, in addition, forcing the young man to look for a wallet. He did it for his own benefit. He sacrificed his conscience and thereby humbled himself to the base evil spirits inhabiting the earth. Maybe that's why the witch dared to come?

Until now, honesty has been his weapon, and honor his main wealth. Yes, he punished people for vices, but he was always fair and will remain so.

— You, petty witch, steeped in malice and evil deeds, will never desecrate my halls. I don't make deals with your brethren. Away! Go away! said the knight coldly.

A bright flash blinded the Witch, and then the light in the arch went out, and the crystal staircase disappeared without a trace.

For some time the Witch stood and stared blankly at the lake. Now it was not perfectly round. The clear outlines of the shores blurred. The witch wasn't even sure it was the same lake. Anger and resentment bubbled up in her. She had never been so humiliated. She spat into the lake and angrily muttered:

- Just think! He does not deal with petty witches. I'm not that small. I also have some power, and I will prove it. Now, good sir, you will not see the boy as your ears. He will return the wallet and you will be left with nothing.

The sorceress was unaware that the Moon Knight had already firmly decided to let Gleb go in peace, even if he did not return the purse. However, if she knew about his decision, she would hardly have believed in him. How was the witch to know that there is true nobility in the world?

When the first attack of anger passed, the Witch thought. It was tempting to pull the nose of the Moon Knight himself and knock him down, but at the same time Gleb received complete freedom. Wherever you throw it, she was the loser. It was not enough to bring the boy a wallet on a plate with a blue border! The witch weighed all the pros and cons, deciding who to annoy first. And then it dawned on her. She figured out how to annoy everyone at once. No wonder she had no equal in the art of weaving intrigues.

Chapter 11 Fraud

A slight ripple of alarm ran through the palace of Duchess Agnes. She had not yet had time to paint the duchess's chambers in mourning shades, as always happens when a seriously ill person is in the house. But a vague foreboding of trouble had already been born in the hearts of the household. The Duchess had been sleeping for a whole day since the moment when Marika brought her home.

No one knew why Agnes and her daughter found themselves in such a storm far outside the city. Marika confusedly told that they went for a walk, Agnes fell off her horse and lost consciousness. However, the doctor did not find any bruises or injuries. There were no visible signs of illness. The doctor tried every means to bring the woman to her senses, but nothing helped. The doctor just shrugged. He believed that in the morning the duchess would wake up without any medical intervention, but just in case, he left a nurse for the night. Marika intended to be on duty at the bedside of her foster mother herself, but fatigue and the excitement she experienced took their toll. The girl fell asleep on the go, and the nurse sent her to bed.

The sumptuous bedroom was plunged into darkness. Only the candle on the table, near which the nurse perched, cast a dim circle of light, dispelling the darkness. The duty was troublesome. The patient slept peacefully, and after midnight the nurse also began to yawn and nod. In the pre-morning hours, it is especially difficult to fight the oncoming sleep. At first the woman was strong, but in the end she gave up. Her head fell on her chest and she dozed off.

The clock ticked steadily. The nurse was snoring as she sat in her chair. She did not notice how a nimble, wizened old woman with a sly face jumped out from behind the curtain. Usually the Witch arranged her appearances according to all the rules of witchcraft. She used a spinning tornado, and sheaves of sparks, and black smoke. It impressed the simpletons, but she didn't need to show off today. She had reasons to be as modest as possible. Evil deeds are often done under the cover of night and without witnesses.

After a moment's hesitation, the witch looked around, took out a box of sleeping powder from her purse, and tiptoed over to the dozing nurse. To be on the safe side, throwing a pinch of sleeping powder on the already sleepy woman, the witch muttered a spell and felt bolder. Now it was possible not to be afraid that the nurse would wake up and notice the uninvited guest.

Taking precautions, the Witch approached the duchess' bed.

— You don't need sleeping pills. Insomnia doesn’t torment you anyway,” the Witch smiled, looking at the sleeping Agnes.

The poor girl had no idea what a sinister role she was to play in the play conceived by the sorceress from the Fox Hole. Vedunya's face was distorted by an evil smirk. She pulled out a blue velvet purse bearing the Moon Knight crest from her bosom and tucked it under Agnes's pillow.

— Get what you want, I'm not greedy. I don't need someone else. Your stepdaughter will be surprised when she finds this little thing here,” the witch giggled.

The sorceress knew that no one but Marika would touch the purse. It would never occur to anyone that he is magical, and trained servants are unlikely to steal money from under the pillow of a sleeping mistress. Now it all depended on whether the girl would tell where the missing item had been found. If yes, then all the cones will fly to Agnes, and if not ...

In this case, the Witch had a special plan. Sometimes silence is tantamount to lying, and lying breeds mistrust. Recently, the friendship between the royal heir and the gypsy girl has already been tested, and this will finally drive a wedge between them.
