A little girl and her tiny granny should be easy targets—right? Not if Little Red has anything to say about it! Kiya!

Little Red Riding Hood | She sets off through the forest to visit her grandmother in this classic edition.

Lon Po Po | In this Chinese version of the classic fairy tale, a mother leaves her three children home alone while she goes to visit their grandmother. Throughout, a cute (but cowardly) mouse accompanies Red Riding Hood on her journey, forseeing her peril—but not able to help her evade the big-eyed, big-toothed creature who wants to eat her.

The Wolf’s Story | Everyone knows there are at least two sides to every story, and if you believe in the big-eared, sharp-toothed villain of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, there’s a logical explanation for everything. As our antihero tells it, it all starts with the helpful wolf doing odd jobs for Grandma (are you sure you don’t want to sit a little closer?). How was he to know that he spoiled Little Red would come along and ruin a good working relationship?

Petite Rouge: A Cajun Red Riding Hood | When her grand-mère comes down wit’ de flu, this Cajun Little Red knows what she has to do.  With her witty cat, TeJean, she sets off in a pirogue to bring Grand-mère some gumbo.  Who should she meet upon the way, but that big ol’ swamp gator, Claude!  Mean ol’ Claude may want to gobble up Petite Rouge, but she and TeJean have a better idea. Before long, they have Claude running back to the bayou where he belongs!

Little Red Hot | Little Red Hot loves red hot chilli peppers. She eats them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When her grandmother catches a cold, Little Red makes her a hot pepper pie that will “knock those cold germs right out of her”. But before Little Red shares her pie with Grandma, she meets Señor Lobo. The pie comes in very handy when the wily wolf tries to trick her into thinking he’s her grandmother.

Red Riding Hood and the Sweet Little Wolf | Little Wolf doesn’t want to be a Big Bad Wolf. But when she is sent to gather ingredients for dinner and she meets Red Riding Hood, she doesn’t know what to do. Together the unlikely duo finds a surprising solution to Little Wolf’s big problem!

Little Red Cowboy Hat | This Southwestern version of Little Red Riding Hood features a tomboyish main character, a wolf as sleazy as any street corner lothario and a distinct self-defense theme.

Carmine: A Little More Red | And, as Carmine takes off on her bicycle with Rufus, that is just what she intends to do. But Carmine is a dreamy painter, always in search of capturing just the right hue in her drawings, and this drawing—the one she begins in a lovely forest clearing just off the path to Granny’s—must be her best yet.

Little Red Writing | This is a hilarious and exuberant retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, in which a brave little red pencil finds her way through the many perils of writing a story.

The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood | When Wolf writes to Red Riding Hood, begging her to teach him how to be good, she jumps at the chance to help. Her make over is amazingly successful, but can she deal with no longer being the most popular character in the Forest?

Betsy Red Hoodie | Betsy is finally old enough to take cupcakes to Grandma all by herself—with the company of her faithful sheep, of course. And although wolves aren’t good for grandmas, Betsy lets her best friend, Zimmo, come along too. But will Zimmo’s wolfish instincts make Grandma the tasty treat instead?

Pretty Salma | When Granny asks Pretty Salma to go to the market one day, she warns her not to talk to strangers. But cunning Mr. Dog tricks Salma, and before she knows it, he’s wearing her stripy ntama, her pretty white beads, and her yellow sandals. And he’s on his way to Granny’s house! African culture and flavor infuse this inventive retelling of a favorite fairy tale, and the vibrant lively illustrations bring it to life.

Which version will you read first? I highly recommend Lon Po Po, Petite Rouge, and Pretty Salma. They’re favorites around here.

Cooking food for Little Red Riding Hood

It is important to pay special attention to the preparation of ingredients for your salad. "Little Red Riding Hood" will be tasty, healthy, if you have managed to choose high-quality products, process them correctly.

Meat
Now you can find many recipes for the famous salad that resemble the traditional one. Mistresses offer to change the type of meat, the way it is cooked. For example, they cook a red cap with beef, horse meat and pork. Some people prefer the original methods of cooking the usual chicken breast. Fried chicken, grilled meat are sent to the salad.

All these options have the right to exist, but still it is better to just boil the breast. This is the only way you will be able to feel the true taste of Little Red Riding Hood, get the maximum of useful substances and not harm the body. It is no coincidence that the recipe involves the use of boiled brisket. It is an ideal dietary product.

Of course, meat must be chosen carefully. It is advisable to purchase a chilled breast in a store that has its own production. There it will surely be fresh. At home, you need to smell it, wash it well under running cool water.

Vegetables
You will need potatoes, carrots. Pay special attention to the choice of potatoes. Great if he's young. Too small, greenish tubers do not need to be taken. Carrots are desirable to choose a medium size. An excessively large root crop may turn out to be bitter, and this is unacceptable for Little Red Riding Hood.

Boil potatoes and carrots well so that they become soft. It is great if the potatoes are crumbly, light. Vegetables must be cleaned before cooking.

Onion
The choice and preparation of onions should be considered separately. Some people prefer to make a salad with red onions. However, the recipe calls for the use of regular onions.

White onion will not sweeten, and you will eliminate the bitterness when processing it. To do this, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the onion, removing not only the husk from it, but also two or three layers of the onion itself. If they are thick, you can limit yourself to one. Then the onion is finely chopped and poured with boiling water. Leave it in water for 10 minutes. All the bitterness, the pungent smell will go away, only a pleasant taste will remain.

Bulbs must also be chosen correctly. Refuse too small onions, do not take soft, shriveled onions. Typically, a fairly large onion with thick juicy layers has a delicate taste and aroma.

Eggs
This recipe calls for regular chicken eggs. Someone prefers to always eat quail eggs, taking care of their health. However, a chicken egg is also quite useful, while its taste and aroma are much more suitable for Little Red Riding Hood. Do not forget that quail eggs are quite specific, they can disrupt the harmony of the salad.

It is very important to boil the eggs correctly. It is in this salad that they play a particularly large role. It is necessary to cook them for no more than 10 minutes, make sure that they do not become “rubber”. It’s great if you then gently chop them with a large fork. Then the salad will become more magnificent, airy.

Cheese
Choose hard cheeses. It is advisable to refuse products with additives, flavors. They will spoil the unique "sympathy" of the salad. It is important to ensure that the cheese is fresh, mature, and does not have a lighter crust.

Nuts
Used in salad and walnuts. Please note that the recipe specifies a specific type of nut. "Little Red Riding Hood" will lose its originality if you replace nuts with pine nuts, choose a new option with pistachios.
Nuts must be of good quality. Check if they have bitterness. If the nuts are too bitter, it is better to refuse them. Prepare your walnuts thoroughly before sending them to the salad. It is necessary not only to remove the nucleoli, but also to free them from the skin. She can give bitterness.

Pomegranate
Choose mature, red pomegranate. The grains should be large, have a rich color, so that the dish with pomegranate is effective, healthy.

Dressing
The most commonly used dressing is mayonnaise. Choose low fat mayonnaise. It's great if there is no vinegar in it at all. A good diet dressing is low-fat sour cream. You can mix it with mayonnaise.

Choose mayonnaise without additives, with a short shelf life. These products are natural and harmless.

Preparing a salad

Now you know the main features of the dish, its benefits, and found out exactly how to choose and prepare products. It's time to start making the salad! Consider a simple step by step recipe. You will be able to cook the dish step by step by looking at the photos. Begin!

  1. We prepare all the necessary products, put them on the table. You need chicken breast, potatoes and carrots, eggs with onions, mayonnaise and nuts, pomegranate seeds and herbs, cheese.
  2. Take the chicken breast. It must be washed, then boiled in water until fully cooked. You can salt a little. Then completely cool the meat, finely cut it.
  3. Cheese to be grated. Use a fine grater.
  4. Onions should be poured with boiling water, kept in water for 10 minutes. Cut the onion very finely. It is better to take a sharp thin knife.
  5. Potatoes, carrots must be boiled without peel. The potatoes are rubbed. A grater for this will need a large one.
  6. Carrot cut into small cubes.
  7. Now boil hard boiled eggs. They must be cooled, freed from the shell, and then mashed with a fork.
  8. Now it's time to lay out the first layer. This is a bow.
  9. Now carefully spread the potatoes on top, add a little mayonnaise.
  10. The breast rests on the potato, it must also be decorated with dressing.
  11. The carrots should cover the potatoes. A little more dressing again.
  12. Eggs are the most important layer. It will make the salad airy. According to the recipe, you need to close the dish with eggs on top, lay them on the sides. Don't forget to refuel.
  13. Now it remains to put grated cheese, add mayonnaise again.
  14. Finishing touches: we decorate the “Little Red Riding Hood” with dill, which must first be finely chopped, we decorate the side part with nuts.
  15. Of course, we create a red cap from pomegranate seeds!

Our salad is ready!

Producer Lina Arifulina in an interview about the new film Little Red Riding Hood: “Baking pies or fighting wolves? It's up to you"

Oksana Bondarchuk

TV Mag Browser

Who was Little Red Riding Hood's father? What did she dream about: baking pies or fighting wolves? The answers to these fabulous questions can be found from September 22, 2022, when the prequel to the famous fairy tale by Charles Perrault 9 will be released. 0180 Little Red Riding Hood . In the family blockbuster, the main character discovers the secret of her origin, and this helps her decide in life. The main roles in the film were played by Russian stars: Alexei Serebryakov, Yuri Chursin, Ekaterina Klimova, Irina Rozanova, Danila Yakushev, Alexei I. Barabash, Nino Ninidze, Pavel Kuzmin, Vladimir Dolinsky, Ivan Kokorin and others. And the role of the famous girl was played by 16-year-old Taisiya Kalinina. TV Mag spoke with the author of the ambitious concept and the general producer of the film, Lina Arifulina.

Lina, how did such a large-scale idea come about - to create a prequel to Little Red Riding Hood? Many people know you as a popular TV and music producer. How did this movie epic start for you?

I have long dreamed of making films, but show business fascinated me, and this dream had to be postponed for a while. At some point, I decided that I would like to make films primarily for a family audience. Then I entered the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in the workshop of Vladimir Khotinenko. There I finally established myself in the idea that it was time to do something, to create a movie. I had the idea for Little Red Riding Hood since 2009of the year. I've always wondered who is Little Red Riding Hood's father? We all read this famous legend, but we never ask this question. It was interesting for me to build on this the whole dramaturgy of the film. In addition, I work a lot with children and teenagers, I lead a huge educational direction. And very often I come across the fact that the guys painfully endure the loss of one of their parents. Some don't have a father, some don't have a mother. They find it hard to accept reality without them. In our film, Little Red Riding Hood does not immediately accept the death of her father. And continues the work of his father. The experience of a teenage girl from losing her father to accepting her status in life is a very important emotional experience for young viewers. With this depth, I wanted to create an action film, a blockbuster, a dynamic plot. That is, this is a film with an important social message, with semantic layers, but at the same time modern and exciting. It was important for me to show Little Red Riding Hood in a new format for a new generation of teenagers. We have rethought the plot, combining the classic traditions of Russian fairy tales and films with the latest technologies and filming methods.

Such a huge project presents a lot of challenges for the producer. What was the most difficult task in making the film?

I have a lot of experience in producing, and producing is universal - whether it's a TV show or a movie. I am one of those producers who arrives on the set before everyone else and leaves last. Because everything in my project is interesting to me, I delve into it, listen, I love team thought, when everyone brings their own creativity. Everything that happens on the site is not indifferent to me. I pass everything through my heart, I do everything with inspiration. As they say, everything happens with God's love and our love. Therefore, I would not say that I faced some incredible problems that were difficult for me to solve. With interest and love, all heaviness goes away.

Even when force majeure happens?

Absolutely. My body and my sharpness are already used to it. Force majeure must be provided for so that they do not exist. But since they have arisen, then first of all, you need to calmly look at it. I don't make decisions right away - I count to ten ( smiles ). But sometimes force majeure gives a new direction, just like a crisis gives new opportunities. Suddenly, unexpectedly, with force majeure, it turns out better than we planned! Force majeure suggests that it is more interesting. For example, when there was a pandemic period, the project had to be closed for a year. In this regard, the next year I invited another film crew to work. It turned out that the first group filmed a modern city, and the other group filmed a fairy-tale world. Different conditions, atmosphere, greatly influenced the film, which only benefited from this. It turned out that in the film, the fabulous and real worlds are separated by the finest visual nuances. So force majeure helped us. The first viewers admitted that the film is watched in one breath.

Tell us about the casting. How long have they been looking for a heroine for the role of Little Red Riding Hood?

We looked at about 500 girls for the role of Little Red Riding Hood. Taisiya was one of the last to arrive. I liked her lack of gloss, non-puppetry. She is brave inside, but fragile at the same time. And I really liked her character - she is patient, thoughtful. A man of a pause, she needs to comprehend everything, not to rush and not to drive. At the same time, she had to work very hard on the site. I am sure that a whole generation will remember such a Little Red Riding Hood.

Alexey Serebryakov said that he was inspired to play the leader of a pack of wolves, "because the fantasy genre requires an actor to have a special way of being in the frame." Tell us how the star cast of the film came about?

Some of the actors I immediately saw in the roles in the process of writing the script. For example, originally represented Irina Rozanova as a grandmother. When I called her and told her that I wanted to offer her the role of "Tarantino" grandmother, she immediately agreed. Yuri Chursin in the image of the son of the Leader of the pack of wolves was also in my head from the beginning. And for Alexei Serebryakov to play the main villain - it was my big dream. When he agreed to shoot and all the schedules agreed, I was very happy!

The charm of the artists was superimposed on writing the script. We found someone as a result of the casting. But he was clear and easy.

Danila Yakushev admitted that the status of Little Red Riding Hood's father caused him some worries at first.

Danila perfectly embodied the role of his father, Volkoboy, who loves and protects his family. Interestingly, Taisiya Kalinina and Danila Yakushev have already played father and daughter in another film. There was such a pleasant coincidence. And they really look alike in real life!

Fantasy involves a large amount of computer graphics. Will there be a lot of her in the new Little Red Riding Hood?

Fairy tale world is very detailed and realistic. We found such interesting locations that they coincided with the fantasy world of Little Red Riding Hood. We have built bright and detailed fairytale houses, filled them with fabulous items. The artists paid special attention to every little thing and detail in the house, in the costume. I love the detail in the frame, the complexity of the background. And we have achieved this. For which we thank our artist Maria of Tours and her team.

As for computer graphics, here we have touched exclusively on animals. Wolves, butterflies, bumblebee, beetle and so on. We tried to make them all different. If there were 7 wolves in the frame, then these are 7 different personalities and characters. Our project team has been working on believable visual effects for almost two years.

Where did you find such fabulous locations?

Oddly enough, but we filmed the fairy-tale world in Moscow. Right in front of the Moscow Ring Road, we found a beautiful virgin forest. It was an amazing find.

Initially, the message of the fairy tale about Little Red Riding Hood was a warning to children not to turn off the path, not to get lost in the forest. What is the message of your painting? In part, you already said that this is a story about accepting the death of a loved one.

Yes, but not only acceptance of the absence of one of the parents. Initially, with the death of his father in the fairy-tale world, the protection of the city from wolves ceases. Little Red Riding Hood must decide for herself: who is she on earth, what is her mission? Mom gives her cookbooks, wants her to continue the tradition of baking pies. But the girl understands that she is drawn to other things. And when she understands this, she defends the city, continuing the work of her father. She finds herself. She becomes bold and determined. This is the second main semantic layer of the tape.

Proceeds from the film's rental will be donated to the Novy Dom charity fund, which helps orphans. Why did such an unpopular production decision come about?
