The leader of the group "Cockroaches" Dmitry "Sid" Spirin answered questions from readers of "Lenta.Ru"

On December 25, the Moscow rock band "Cockroaches" releases their most unusual album in their entire 18-year history, "Unplugged Unlimited". The disc contains two dozen songs, recorded in new arrangements according to the principle "the more unusual - the cooler". In addition, the publication includes a DVD with a concert with this program at the IKRA club in April 2007. In more detail about the project and the future plans of the group, in an interview with the readers of Lenta.Ru, the leader of the Tarakanov, Dmitry "Sid" Spirin, spoke.

    Anton [25.12 14:00]

    Dima, hello.

Do you think it's still possible to form a normal pop-punk in Russia? I mean the Russian analogues of such bands as Blink-182, Green Day. Groups that could take away the 12-18 year old audience from Bilan, etc.

I think that just the audience of 12-18 year olds is the main contingent of those punk bands that can conditionally be called Russian analogues of the above-mentioned Western names. So this issue is resolved. If you mean the mass popularity of this type of music, then I think it is impossible in Russia. Americanized pop-punk is mentally alien to Russians.

    tankman [12/25 15:38]

Dima, why do you think there is a stagnation on the pop-punk scene in Russia now, there are no interesting bands at all, and why now only the same bands are in sight as 8 years ago (you, naive, Elysium), although in the same Moscow in 2001-02 there were at least 5-6 dozens of young and not so young groups playing pop-punk, but which either slowed down their activity or simply disappeared.

I also want to say a huge thank you for the unplugt album, I listen with great pleasure.

    tanker

Indeed, there was a small (compared to emo/nu metal/alternative now) surge of interest and activity of bands on this scene 5-6 years ago. But the fashion passed, other heroes came, the kids began to quote a completely different rock. The result is standard for this kind of situation: the weakest, least talented or purposeful groups simply disappeared, since it was fashion that fueled their creative activity. And fashion is the most shaky foundation on which a rock band's career can be built. There must be something else.

    Seva [25.12 18:05]

Hello Dima, please tell me when Russia will become a full member of the world punk scene, although you and some of our teams give or do tours in Europe, but these are one-time and not permanent trips (with the exception of Distemper) in the inability to play our teams on an equal footing with Western, or are there any other objective reasons for not touring in the West? Thanks in advance and continued success to you. Seva is 21 years old.

A lot of kilobytes were spent on this topic, a lot of blood and bile was shed on forums and special sites about 6-8 years ago. The controversy has not subsided to this day. Yes, our level is weak. Yes, as musicians we are being beaten by European bands of the middle class. Without going into details, there are several main reasons. Rock music in the Western sense of the phenomenon has never been native to Russia. Not only in punk rock, but in rock in general. Russia has only one big name on a global scale - Tatu. But they are a pop group. No rock subculture in Russia has yet given a world star: neither metal, nor alternative, nor indie, nor punk. Why is that? Again: with rock in Russia, the situation is ambiguous. If a group tries to make original music with national roots, it usually turns out to be a product for internal use only. Those musicians who try to play rock according to Western models are obviously secondary in relation to their native counterparts. But these are all basic reasons. There are also more mundane ones. Any group can go on tour to Europe even tomorrow. But for this she needs: visas, a minibus, her own apparatus, English-speaking people in the line-up, albeit small, but the support of the label, an active member of the group who was able to organize all this while sitting in Russia. There are too many conditions, and European groups, of course, have the opportunity to solve all these issues much easier.

    Rock23 [12/26 04:58]

Greetings! I am very glad that things have improved in your group, and after almost half a year of silence, you are starting to give concerts again and delight us with new releases! And my question is the following, what do you think are the chances of a punk band from the provinces to achieve all the Russian fame in the current reality?

The chances are very high. All the latest "sensations" on this stage are connected precisely with the names from the regions. Over the past five years, groups from Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg and so on have broken through from the underground to stadiums and big clubs.

    Alexey [12/26 11:39 AM]

    Dima, hello!

How far do you think the Western punk-rock culture has gone from the domestic one. And do we need to become like them?

    Thank you for your reply.

Western rock has deep roots. For Western civilization, rock music is actually folklore. Rock in Europe and America has 50 years of development and already the fifth generation of fans. It's no wonder that in this field Western bands sound and look much cooler than ours. And if one of the Russian musicians sets himself the task of someday becoming as cool, to some extent and in some moments it is simply necessary to be like them.

    Ildar [26.12 11:56]

Hello Dmitry! I am a big fan of your band's work! I have three questions: 1. Why is the punk rock industry currently in decline? There are very few such popular punk bands in Russia as you... After all, if we take the period from 1997 to 2003, then from my point of view there was a "boom" of punk rock in Russia. 2. How do young punk rock bands develop at the moment? 3. How do you feel about the work of the Nirvana group, and if positive, then for what reasons?

    1. As I answered above, there was a fashion, but now it is gone.

    2. As for the development of young bands, I always answer these questions in a stereotyped way: love what you do, really fight for your topic. This is the best way to develop.

    3. Nirvana is a good band, and at the age of 16 I listened to them with pleasure.

    Sasha V [25.12 14:01]

Hi Sid! How do you feel about the Japanese punk scene? Do you have favorite bands?

Since the time when we were involved in active contacts with some representatives of the Japanese scene, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge. Especially since then, I have not been interested in new products and have not discovered new names for myself.

    Igor [25.12 14:09]

Dmitry, Yegor Letov died at the beginning of 2008. How did you feel about him and his work?

I have never been a fan of GO, this is not my music and not my band. The death of any person is always a sad moment, and this message upset me no less than everyone else.

    dimic [12/25 14:51]

    hello, dima!

has always loved the cockroach group, to be honest, it was the work of your group that plunged into music with a head.

probably quite a relevant question for some audiences: according to many people who started growing up with the music of the cockroaches in the late 90s, most of the adequate (in musical terms, first of all) groups appear in the so-called. diy party, but there are rumors and other stories (hah) that you are in some kind of confrontation with people stewing in this mess. Is musical cooperation with such groups possible at all, or is the confrontation so serious that a priori it extends to all people who are in this party?

formulated the question as best he could.

To be honest, I'm very far from what's going on in the underground punk-hardcore band right now. And before there were not so many intersections. I know some guys who are somehow related to the movement, and I have a great relationship with them.

    Kirill V. [12/25 04:29 PM]

Dmitry, how do you like the work of the group Mad Dog? Do you want to record something together?

I liked some of their songs. As for the joint recording: this group, in my opinion, has not been around for 8 years, or have I missed something?

    Seva [12/25 18:07]

What modern bands can you single out now, from western and domestic ones?))

I like Noize MC, "Lyapis Trubetskoy", "Shadows of Freedom", Lazy Bitches. In western rock, I mostly listen to old, proven, classic names. I don't follow new trends, and for one song from the last Guns N' Roses album I'm ready to give up all Fall Out Boy albums.

    *anonymous* [12/25 19:56]

Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple. .. What does that mean to you?)

Rock classics, music that I listened to as a child, and with which my interest in rock began.

    Lemon [12/25 18:25]

    Hello, Dima!

Since antifa and students were asked above, the question will be about something else.

How do you feel about the hardcore scene that has gained momentum lately?

And, for example, how do you like the current guitarist of Zuname?

I like that hardcore in Russia is developing so rapidly. Groups from the regions that I manage to hear sound very convincing, however, like those from the capital.

To my shame, I haven't checked out "Tsunami" with the new guy on guitar yet.

    Hungry Marvin [12/25 19:12]

and how do you feel about football-related creativity: to such groups as Havana Club, KBT and Football Factory Bend?

I can't say anything, I haven't heard any of these bands.

    Lisa [12/25 20:33]

    Hello Dmitry!

In June of this year I was at a concert where you performed with Distemper in Tochka. Unforgettable) Tell me, are there any more joint concerts planned? Thanks

    No such plans yet.

    Denis [25.12 20:43]

What is your personal relationship with the leader of "Metal Corrosion" Spider? Do you like his work?

    calod [12/25 03:29 PM]

Dmitry Do you consider yourself a follower of Yegor Letov?

and how do you feel about metal corrosion and the KBT group?

    kobra ss [25.12 20:21]

    Dim, hello!

How do you feel about Kostya Kinchev, the Corrosion of Metal group and Seryozha Troitsky? Do you plan to release a record together?

I was a KM fan as a child. We know Sergey personally, I love his humor.

    Code Hetarizd [25. 12 21:11]

    Hello!

What do you think about the group Brigade Podryad in its early period of creativity, with Nikolai Mikhailov?

I am not an expert on Russian (especially St. Petersburg) punk rock. So the question about the early period of creativity of this group is clearly not for me.

    Monk [25.12 21:54]

Hi Sid! This album features a song with Noize Mc. This guy has some pretty deep lyrics. Is there any desire to cover one of his songs already in a punk way, if, of course, this is possible?

    No such plans yet.

    karkon [26.12 20:14]

Hoy, the question is, how did you get the idea to record the overlords with Noise? did you like the result? Will you have further cooperation of this kind?

While doing the songs for the "Unplugged Unlimited" concert series (read more here), we planned a hip-hop insert in the middle of "Lords" from the very beginning. At concerts, our good friends, Kirill and Serega from the pop-ska-punk band PP SKA, read their kind of freestyle there. When it came to recording the album, we decided that it would be nice to invite Noyz to this track. That's all. I am more than satisfied with the result, a natural bomb came out. There are no plans for further cooperation yet.

    Olegan [25.12 23:20]

    Hi

    1. How do you feel about young bands playing your songs and young bands doing a lot of covers of songs from bands like the Ramones, Stooges, etc.?

    2. Are you going to make any more Ramones songs?

    1. Ok, let them play, why not?

    2. We have never made songs specifically in this or that style. Songs are obtained one way or another on their own. It's hard to plan anything here.

    Theodosius [26.12 12:47]

Please tell us about the tribute to AC/DC. What prospects do you see from participation in this collection? Why did you choose this particular song? Have you listened to AC/DC before?

I've been an AC/DC fan since childhood. This song was chosen by a general vote in the team as the most beloved for the five of us.

    Alexey [12/26 08:24]

    1. In the early-mid 90s you normally communicated with the group Korol and Shut, then you started to easily run into them on various TV broadcasts (and at the same time the Petersburgers who pass off Russian rock as punk).

Was it some personal disagreement with the King and the Jester?

    2. Has your opinion about St. Petersburg changed? Do you still think that AU sucks, mushroom rock, etc.?

    3. What can you say about St. Petersburg bands from the time when pop-punk was popular? Puree, Kurki, Port 812, Berlinn? In our city, less and less people are going to their concerts (with the exception of combined concerts (trees)). Is it the same situation with pop-punk in MSC? Doesn't it mean that pop-punk is also not relevant, like Russian rock at the end of 90s early 2000s?

    1. Personally, I don't have any personal differences. As for the "attacks", then, obviously, for such you took the expression of my personal opinion on certain issues, which you can’t even remember now. It’s just that sometimes I, forgetting myself, do it not quite correctly in relation to my colleagues.

    2. I always quoted AU in moderation, and I never considered them crap. St. Petersburg is really not my favorite place on earth, but here it’s the taste and color.

    3. Ha! Russian rock is not relevant! Tell the visitors of "Invasion" about it. I love all the bands you listed, and I haven't been going to Moscow pop-punk concerts for a long time, so I can't say anything about the situation.

    Zzz [12/26 10:46 AM]

    Dima,

I saw you once at a concert of the band Lily of the Valley.

how do you feel about this team?

    I love you.

    Gregory [28.12 17:09]

What are the differences between you and the naive vocalist, Chacha???

    No disagreement.

    Brit** [12/28 19:32]

    Hi Sid!

Tell us about the plans of your (side?) band "Lazy Bitches".

LB is not my side band, it's a full band in which I play guitar. In the near future, the release of the newly recorded new album.

    Not me here [27.12 17:31]

Hello Sid, I'm a punk fan just like you - I listen to Kish, Gaza, Gr.ob, Red Mold and other punk rock, and of course you.

And I also want to ask a question, how do you like the albums of the King and the Jester with a Stone on the Head, Like in an old fairy tale?

Ten years ago these recordings made a very positive impression on me.

    Free [26.12 21:22]

    Hoi!

What do you think of the garage and psychedelic scene of the 60's and what do you think of the general trend of going back to the roots with "new gear"? What about our groups working in these styles (King kongs, the cavestompers, zombiecops)?

    Good luck!

I really like the ideas of any revivals, whether it's garage, psychedelic, punk or something else. ..

    I like the listed bands.

    Jity [12/25 14:37]

    Hello, Dima!

On the site, you gave visitors the choice of a warm-up group.

    What is the result?

    "Shadows of Freedom".

    Michael [12/25 14:52]

Are you going on tour in support of Unplugged Unlimited? I really want to see you live and listen to what is not on the album.

No, there will be no such concerts. We can't afford to carry around the cities a camp of 15 speakers, besides, the lineup that UU came up with is no more.

    Dmitry [26.12 00:00]

Hello Dmitry. Thanks again for the concert in Belgorod, it was a very big event for me, I just started to walk tolerably after a complex operation and spent time at your concert at the Central Medical Institute with pleasure.

And my question is simple, do you have any plans to visit us in 2009?

    P. s. your music is very invigorating and helps to get out of depression)))

As soon as such an offer arrives, we will gladly board the train.

    elastic Seryozha [26.12 14:02]

    Hello.

The latest Unplugged Unlimited LP is designed in the style of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper LP. In 1967, they recruited over 60 celebrities and prominent people of the world for the cover, and placed them around themselves. What guided you when choosing people for the cover (or anyone else) when creating it for Unplugged Unlimited?

It's simple. On our version of the cover, there are people who took part in the recording, as well as the characters of the songs, or the artists, quotes from whose things we borrowed. Unfortunately, neither the Beatles themselves, nor Yuri Yulianovich Shevchuk, nor Sergei Galanin could be placed.

But there are a couple of characters just for fun. For the sake of a joke.

    redhead [12/25 18:37]

    Hello Diman!

I am a big fan of your band and have all your albums. I am very worried about the following question: will the album be released on vinyl? I would really like, preferably a color or even better picture disc, and limited edition!!!

I would love to buy it, and in general it would be great to re-release other albums on vinyl too!

Unfortunately, vinyl cannot be printed in a single copy. And mass demand for a similar product from T! not yet visible.

    RoMych [25.12 19:05]

Zdarova Sid!!! Foreva cockroaches! I would like to ask when the band's new full-length studio album will be released?

When we have enough worthy songs to publish.

    Alexey Efremov [25.12 15:03]

Hello Dima, being a longtime fan of your band, I really want you to release a collection of covers for your songs, do you have such plans? And if so, when will these tracks be released?

    P.S.

Dima, please write some of your favorite lines from your songs.

    Best regards, Alexey, Saransk.

In fact, the just-released album Unplugged Unlimited is a collection of self-covers.

    Nikita [25.12 15:08]

Thank you for a great book!

Do you plan to write anything else?

I would like to publish as a separate book a series of my articles for BRAVO, "School of Rock".

    3y6p [12/25 03:44 PM]

Dim, will there be a continuation of your frenzied book "Stupid Punk Rock for Intellectuals"?

No, I am not planning such a book.

    Gavriel [25.12 23:00]

Dima! I can't ignore your appearance on the news resource I regularly visit, and I hasten to ask:

    1. What is the reason for the desire to make "Unplugged Unlimited" now, and not just another rock album?

    2. Are there any plans to create a special program (album) of new songs in a key that could be called "clear rock gatherings in an acoustic key"? (KISS, Bryan Adams, and other MTV commemorative award winners immediately come to mind)

    3. Developing the unplugg theme, would you like your band to follow the example of, say, Lemmy, who recorded a CD of acoustic rock and roll classics from the 50's, only based on some other era?

    How are you in general?

    1. We didn't have a choice. UU has been in the long term for the last 2 years. As for the real rock songs, as you probably heard, the line-up has changed in the group not so long ago, and it takes some time for the guys and I to compose enough decent material.

    2. "Unplugged Unlimited" looks like something like that to me.

    3. Maybe someday we will record a cover album, but it's too early to talk about it.

    andrew beawizz [25.12 23:13]

    1. hello, once you were cut by epitaph, fat wreck bands, and generally by fast bands, fast in terms of "stumbling" in songs, the last few years in the music of cockroaches the influence of such groups is no longer observed, and now as far as I know you I prefer the so-called "punk and roll" bands like bones, backyard babies, what made you change your musical tastes? Do you keep discovering new foreign bands?

    2. Can you also say that your dreams in musical terms have come true to some extent, because you performed on the same stage with childhood idols and not only, I mean the tour with Marky Ramone and the performance with the Sex Pistols?

    3. What tasks and goals do you set for yourself in the near future?

    1. It's all rock and roll. From early childhood, I liked diverse music: hard rock, metal, thrash, glam, punk, surf, 50s-60s and so on. When you listen to so much music and you also play in a rock band, all the influences come to the surface in one way or another. But to be honest, I've never been particularly close to the subject of the Californian. So, 10-15 groups from strength. Some bands I open, yes: Towers of London, Supersuckers, Airbourne...

    2. My musical dreams have always been the possibility of self-realization through rock and roll, and not having to feed myself with anything other than playing in a band. Concerts with idols, of course, are a strong experience, there is nothing to add here.

    3. I have never thought of myself or my career in terms of "task" and "goal". New songs, loud concerts. Something like this.

    Vadim [12/26 09:44]

A big fan of your songs, but not all of them... In general, I wanted to ask, you somehow appeared on TNT in the series about the Bukins .. but is there still a desire to act in any large-scale films? as, for example, Dolphin and Noisemsi appeared on TV screens in their time ...

Yes, participation in the film process as an actor has been my dream since childhood.

Hello, Dmitry, I have a few questions for you. What is your view on the freedom of the individual in the current system of coordinates and how do you see the ways of liberating the individual in the modern world from slavery (like an office one)? And will I ever have the opportunity to play with you on the same stage? How do you see the future of your band in 5-7 years?

I think it's enough to try to do only those things that you really like. Sooner or later, if you really give it your all, it will start to feed you, and office slavery will end on its own.

I'm sure you will be able to play on the same stage with me very soon.

As for the future: it is dangerous to make plans. I try to do without it.

    Andrew [12/25 03:47 PM]

Hello! What do you think happiness is for a person?

    Friendship with oneself.

    3y6p [12/25 03:48 PM]

Is it worth it to allow the free sale and carrying of weapons in the Russian Federation and why (in the theme of the song "When I buy myself a gun")?

I don't think so. Too cheap vodka.

    Andrew [12/25 03:49 PM]

Do you have the song “Get Out of These Places”, is it about yourself or about an abstract character who cannot live in the place where he lives? Did you have a desire to leave the country?

I don't consider myself a Russian patriot, I don't think that where you were born - live there, and having traveled around the world, I found many places better suited for the life of human beings than our homeland.

    Almaty [25.12 15:55]

    Hi Sid!

    1. How do you feel about the statement "Sex, drags & rock"n"roll"?

    2. Don't you think that all this suppresses reason in a person, intoxicates and turns a homo sapiens into a monkey?

Which option do you tend to, where did the person come from?

And what is the meaning of your life?

    1. The statement is good, but the word "drugs" is somewhat confusing.

    2. Yes, it is. Another thing is that many monkeys are better than some people. At least they don't build atomic bombs.

    Winnie [25.12 16:19]

    hello Sid!

First of all, thank you for your work, I have been listening to you since childhood, great respect!!!!

secondly: the band is no longer young, what do you do besides music, or do you live only for it?

It's the only way we live.

    Andrew Mo [12/25 04:32 PM]

    Hoy, Dima!

What is your opinion on the global financial crisis?

I think this is the beginning of a global end.

    Kirill [25.12 17:04]

    Hello Dima.

What does your nickname "Sid" mean?

If you mean the vocalist of a famous punk band, isn't that a bit of a comparison?

No, the vocalist is not meant. I meant the bass player, and for a bass player, not too loud, baby.

    N0-SkA [25.12 17:46]

Dima, at the beginning of summer or whenever there, you started smart books with us and decided to sell your soul to the devil and quit smoking. Well? Anyway, did you quit?

    Still, yes.

    Weiss [12/25 18:25]

Hi Sid! Listening to your albums, one gets the impression that your worldview changes from year to year. The albums are very contradictory in nature. What can you say about this?

I think that only stone statues do not change and develop.

    Serezha Cone [25. 12 23:20]

Dima hi. I want to ask you some questions.

    1. How do you feel about the Clear Edge movement? And are we waiting for the renaming of cockroaches to Khtarakany?

    2. Why Naiv performs in Vladimir 5 times a year, while you performed only 1 time and then only played 5 songs?

    3. Now Naive is performing with Agatha Christie. Is there any desire to play with similar bands? For example Crematorium or DDT?

    4. How do you feel about the fact that almost all pop-punk bands in Russia mostly sing in Russian? And don't you think that's why our scene is so poorly known abroad? And if there are punk bands in Russia that really apply for European tours?

    5. Will you go to Strike Anywhere in Moscow on February 20? Or will you still go to Minsk?

    regards, Serezha Cone!

    1. I'm more of a "Chad of Revelry" movement.

    2. Obviously, the group you mentioned (personally, I am forbidden to pronounce its name aloud by higher powers) is simply more in demand in Vladimir. We would be happy to come to you as often if the Vladimir concert organizers would make offers to us as often.

    3. There is no desire, but sometimes there is a need.

    4. Touring in Europe, as I said above, can be done by anyone. The boys express their thoughts in the only language accessible to most of them, moreover, in their native language. There is nothing surprising here.

    5. I think a gig in Moscow is a more convenient option for me.

    aleleo [26.12 00:04]

According to the definition of the Soviet Encyclopedic Dictionary of 1980, a melody is a monophonic musical thought, the main element of music. How do you feel about the introduction of a musicality rating for rock bands, based on the assessment of musical thought in their compositions?

I don't mind. I wonder what places in this ranking will Metallica take with the first three albums, AC/DC, Motorhead, hardcore bands?

    Nikita [26. 12 00:10]

Hi Sid! How do you see a typical fan of your work now? And then in narrow-minded circles there is an opinion that, they say, punks are just dirty drunken teenagers who need to somehow assert themselves.

Perhaps punks are like that, I don't know. Just a typical T fan! - not punk.

    Ivan [12/26 08:58]

Dima, I am a regular reader of the blog T! Looking through the comments, I sometimes wonder .. do most of the fans of your ensemble visiting the blog do not get the point or the humor? The level of comments is below the plinth. Need to make adjustments to the current style of Internet communication? Or is dumb punk rock not for intellectuals?

I'm not the majority of our band's fans, and it's hard for me to talk about the reasons for such a level of comments.

    Alexey [26.12 10:07]

    Hello, Dima!

Thank you and your colleagues for your creativity! The question is the following: in the entire history of the group, the line-up has changed quite a lot of times, tell me what this is connected with, and in particular, what made the line-up change two months ago.

Thank you in advance for your reply!

    Best regards, Alexey!

Mainly due to fatigue. Employment in a group like ours is not easy, you have to give a lot of time, effort, health, in fact, devote your life to this, and the positive output (satisfaction, money, something else) is not so great. On the other hand, the team always tends to get rid of members who are not able to devote themselves entirely to work for success. This creates a not too pleasant atmosphere and pressure that can force the musician to leave the group. Approximately this is the reason for the last line-up change.

    GC [12/26 10:37 AM]

    1. Dim, if you could bring any 5 bands to Moscow and play a concert with them, which bands would you choose?

    2. Will there be a continuation of unplugged unlimited in the near/far future?

    3. What is your favorite concert venue in Moscow?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

    1. Of those who haven't been here yet: Rancid, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Guns n' Roses, Hanoi Rocks.

    2. There are no such plans.

    3. "Point", "Caviar".

    OldFisben [26.12 11:05]

    Hi Dmitry. Three questions :)

    1. I really like your (cover, let's say) song (not just one, all your work) for the Victory Day. Are you planning anything else like this? It's great, actually.

    2. How did you meet Lumen and did it even get to the point that you sang "Blagoveshchensk" together?)

    3. Ramonez read Stephen King. He often inserted quotes from their songs into his novels, and the group, in turn, even composed songs for his books. Pet Semeteri, for example. :) How do you feel about King's work?) In general, "horror films"?))

    1. This was a special project, no plans at the moment.

    2. They were our opening act on a couple of our visits to Ufa in 2001-2002. I just really liked this song, I offered the boys my participation.

    3. Not bad.

    masha [26.12 11:17]

Hello cockroaches! I liked your unlimited unplug very much!! You are great, but here are the questions.-

so many punk bands are "leaving" it?

And how do you feel about the bands that have recently entered punk rock?

    2. Sid, what do you think about the future of punk rockers like you, 1.5 kg of excellent mashed potatoes, and other groups, due to the fact that no one buys records, your music is not needed by the masses, it does not bring money, punk people be afraid? Does this genre have a future in Russia?

    3. Sid, what do you think, but in the early 90s, when you just made a group of Th, you did everything well, in the sense that you did everything in your power, or were lazy and got down to business specifically only with the release of "Stolen .."?

    4. Sid, what do you think, when will it end in Russia, such garbage that groups like Krasnaya Plesen, Gr. Ob, Gakh Sector, fly agaric and other ensembles playing scoop or pop music, in Russia will stop considering punk rock?

    5. Sid, what was the guitar that you brought to the CP with? Was it bad or relatively good?

    6. Sid, do you think it is possible for modern bands to become the same titans of punk rock as you?

    7. Sid, do you communicate with people from the first CT/CT members?

    8. Sid, but in those days when you were 16-17 years old, how did your friends (not in the group) and classmates treat you, that you play in a punk band, study nowhere, and did not enter anywhere?

    9. Sid, how do you feel about the Ranetki group, their series, and the changes in the line-up Made by their director?

    1. Groups that have made a name for themselves in other subcultures thus acquire immunity from all diseases associated in Russia with the concept of "punk". Therefore, when they want to expand their audience a little or just play in a different style, they do it completely painlessly. The fact that they are now "punks" does not affect their demand for corporate parties.

And vice versa: the bands that were originally in the genre, over the years of their careers have firmly linked their names with the word "punk" and sipped all the "highs" associated with this, are trying to wash themselves off this stigma. The goals are the same: a different audience.

If you could name at least a couple of names of bands that have come to punk rock recently, I would understand who you are talking about.

    2. Everything is simple here: if you want to play - play, no one interferes. If you don't want to, don't play, no one is forcing you.

    3. Well, we were quite young, so a lot of energy and time was spent on parties, girls, drugs instead of composing, rehearsing and playing instruments.

    4. I don't think about it. Not before.

    5. Good for those days.

    6. If you could imagine a little more clearly the whole scale of our titanism, you would know that it is not difficult.

    7. Yes, rarely.

    8. Normally treated.

    9. I don't know anything about permutations, I don't watch TV, I like girls.

    Hose [26.12 13:02]

Dima, hello, one way or another you collect B1, you, and specifically you, are listened to by thousands of people, mostly, probably, teenagers for whom you are an indisputable authority. Do you feel in connection with this some increased responsibility for your words, actions?

No. I'm in a rock band to express myself, not to look around.

    Blonde [12/26 04:52 PM]

    Hello, Dim)

I have a few questions for you)

    1. What is your favorite song from your own repertoire?

    2. What foreign languages do you speak and at what level?

    3. tell us about the most memorable actions of the fans)

    4. if you could go back in time, what would you change in your life?

    5. What is the most ridiculous question you have ever been asked by a journalist?

    6. How do you feel about the work of Blond Ksyu and Ksenia herself as a person and directly as a girl?))

    1. The one that has just been composed.

    2. I can't speak English well, don't speak another language.

    3. When a couple of years ago, being removed from the hall of the Central House of Artists, a couple of fans from Tula shouted that now they are on T! will not go, but will go only to a group whose name cannot be spoken aloud. And wow, this will happen, their screams were quoted almost without any changes by Noize MC in his reading on the UU-version of "Lords of the Universe"!

    4. There are some intimate things.

    5. Where did I get such a nickname - Chacha?

    6. Ksenia is an excellent performer of her own songs and a good person-girl!

    Venus [26.12 20:19]

    Sid, hello))

I starred in the clip of Cockroaches! "I'm looking at them" as one of the graduates ... Interesting, are you satisfied with the material that was filmed at school? And how do you like the clip itself in general? P. S. It's a pity that you couldn't come to the set, we've been waiting for you for a very long time...

The clip as a whole is not the best on earth, but it is what it is.

    Drone [12/27 04:33 PM]

Your unlimited-just a hit! I've been listening to it for the third day without stopping! And the dvd disc is just sweet! And here are the questions -

    yourself a record?

    2. How do you feel about such a fantastic place in St. Petersburg as "Scavenger"?

Don't you think that this place should be renamed because the name really scares away visitors? And is it possible to see you (or Lazy Bitches) performing there?

    3. Some time ago, the Cockroaches said that they are not a punk band, they don’t play punk rock and want to protect themselves from this word. more often to mention themselves as a punk band, they stopped denying this word, etc.

What is the reason for this? Because you can’t get rid of the label “punk” in any way? Or from the fact that recently there has been a crisis in punk - most bands release a consumer product or with an A1 touch, bands are dying from lack of money, everyone is falling out of punk , and other bands come to replace them, suddenly playing punk rock, and you saw all this and decided to return to the roots?

    4. What do you think, Dmitry, is punk rock style "defiled" by "leftist" bands in Russia?

    5. Punk is not dead?

    1. In 1991. I bought my first vinyl in Moscow, in a thrift store.

    2. I don't know anything about it. Perhaps it's worth renaming it ... Although, in the Moscow club "Svalka", which closed several years ago, even "Time Machine" performed. You can see us anywhere, it doesn't matter to us.

    3. Cockroaches! still don't play punk rock no matter what covers we do.

    Shishkin Nikolai [12/27 04:57 PM]

    1. In the West, punk rock originated as protest music, or rather as music of nihilism. Russian rock until the mid-90s was social, then for the most part switched to pink drool-snot and dull soul-searching, with rare exceptions. "Lumen", partly "DDT" and a couple of other groups. Dima, do you think that rock music should be socially active?

    2. Don't you think that the time has come again for an active social position in rock music?!

    3. Or were you also influenced by the meeting of V. Surkov with the so-called "rockers" (perhaps you personally were not there, but you probably know about its essence), who asked the musicians not to touch on sensitive topics in their songs?!..

    1. I think that rock music should be the way its creators make it.

    2. When the time comes for musicians who consider it necessary to express their social position in songs, then it will be possible to say that the time has come for such music.

    3. Everything I know about its essence, I have read in the newspapers. There I did not meet any mention of such requests.
