Words to sesame street song

The Original Sesame Street Lyrics Archive

Welcome to the latest version of this site where you now have four choices. You can continue down this page, where the songs are listed alphabetically. You can check out the Albums Listing, which contains links via the albums they're available on. Check the current Top 20 Best Sellers or you can browse by character:

I am delighted to be able to offer some of these albums for sale via Amazon.Com. Visual links are available where possible, otherwise, just click the album's name (on the individual song pages) or where it says, "Buy This Today!" (on the albums listing) and you'll be taken to Amazon.Com. A visit does NOT mean you have to buy it, just gives you the info you'll need.

Where I have only found some lyrics and not all of the song, I've made a point of telling you before you click. Hopefully, just reading a few lines will remind you of more. If it does, send 'em on in (tinyd@bell. net)

When the link is for a skit or cartoon as opposed to a song, then look for this one

PLEASE NOTE: Some links are for videoclips housed on YouTube.com. While it is mostly a family friendly site, it does contain some adult situations/humour, so please stay within the links provided to ensure your children's safety. To make it easier, I've made a bunch of Playlists for safe surfing.

This is NOT official, I don't have all the writers' names and you may not be happy with the way I've arranged each songs' lyrics. Deal with it, or make your own archive. You know who you are!

While the archive may not be official, it has been recognized as THE original (online since 1996), accept no substitutes of which there are many, alas, with no mention of their source. That's the breaks online.

Sesame Street: The Top 10 Celebrity Guests of the Last 50 Years Ranked

It's not every day a show has been on TV for 50 years in a row. In fact, it's more or less unheard of these days. But the beloved children's television program Sesame Street has done just that by spreading joy and educating children around the world for 50 years. Sesame Street features everyone's favorite Muppet friends, live songs and sets, and incredibly talented human actors.

Along the way, Sesame Street has also made a name for itself in attracting an amazing amount of celebrity talent to appear on the famous street. Literally hundreds of celebrities have appeared on the show over the decades, whether they are themselves, fictional characters, or even their own Muppet counterparts. With that said, this list could go on forever. But here we've tried to narrow down the list to the top ten celebrities to ever appear on Sesame Street. That's who made the cut.

10 Adam Sandler

Years have shown that some of the best people to deal with dolls are professional comedians. Certainly one of the most natural of them all is Saturday Night Live movie star Adam Sandler. Sandler has made several appearances in recent seasons on Sesame Street, one of which has used his gift for comedy songwriting and storytelling.

Sandler first appeared in season 41, defining the word "crunchy" in a parody of a very noisy Cookie Monster. Sandler later appeared in season 42 of Sesame Street, serenading his beloved furry red Muppet in "The Song of Elmo". The song works to create charming rhymes for the word Elmo, and features a guest appearance by other Muppet creatures, including a living dragon and a parrot.

9 BB King

Sesame Street is also known for its incredibly iconic musicians among its many guests. Far and away one of the most famous of these such guest stars is the legendary blues artist BB King. The King of the Blues has made numerous appearances throughout Sesame's long tenure and his own impressive, expansive career. Every time he showed up, he was just as busy, just as alive, and just as perfect as he ever was.

Back in the first season of Sesame King, he sings the alphabet with Sesame Street resident Susan. He later appeared in season 15 performing "Alphabet Blues" and "Count to Ten". But perhaps his best performance of all came in season 32, when he joined a group of B-named Muppets to sing an ode to the letter B. Sesame as a cultural icon Whoopi Goldberg. "Every time the puppets work, I always tell the puppeteers that I want to come and play," Goldberg wrote in 2011 of her longtime relationship with her beloved puppets. Based on the sheer volume of her Sesame appearances, this definitely seems to be true.

Goldberg first appeared in Season 22, taking part in a skit with Elmo discussing the importance of loving your own hair, your skin, and yourself. She took part in the music video for the iconic song "Monster in the Mirror", which appears as a fairy tale in Prairie Dawn and discusses the issue of emotions such as anger with Baby Bear. Whoopi Goldberg has been a reliable voice and face throughout Sesame's history, earning her a place in this top countdown.

7 Ray Charles

Ray Charles was one of the most respected musicians of his time, with a voice so distinct and talented, so amazing and touching, that it was impossible not to be mesmerized by his performances. He also had an infectious joy and warmth, as evidenced by his numerous performances on his beloved street throughout its history. Charles appeared in the series already in the ninth season of 1977, and at the end of the 28th season.

His appearance was defined by the music played at his piano with the Muppets and the child performers surrounding him. He sang songs such as "I Got a Song", "Alphabet Song", "Monster in the Mirror" and "Oh What a Beautiful Morning". Charles even took part in Sesame's 20th anniversary celebration three decades ago.

6 Lin-Manuel Miranda

After his tenure with The Heights and long before hitting the world with Hamilton: An American Musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda embarked on a whole new career as a member of Sesame Street - just like before, as well as behind the camera. In Season 40, which premiered in 2009, Miranda plays the villainous Freddie Flapman, a cutthroat real estate agent who wants to convince Big Bird to leave Sesame Street for a more bird-friendly rainforest environment.

In addition to her turn in the series, Miranda also made a significant contribution. He was original in developing the "Murray Has A Little Lamb" sequences featuring Murray and Ovegeta the sheep, and sings the song for those segments.

Another hallmark of Sesame Street's 50-year history is the perfect parody and adaptation of popular culture, be it music, TV or movies. Some of the best examples of this feature popular musicians recreating some of their biggest hits, now with a Muppet twist. One of the best of them came in Season 30 Sesame at 1991 year.

Iconic rock band REM appeared in Sesame back in Season 30 to perform "Furry Happy Monsters", a take on their hit song "Shiny Happy People". During the song, REM is joined by vocalist Muppet, who observes the emotions of the dolls around her - from joy to sadness and again to joy.

4 Maya Angelou

While our list was mostly made up of entertainment celebrities such as film, television and music, one of Sesame Street's most influential guest stars of all time challenges these categorization trends. Maya Angelou, a respected Poet and Poet Laureate, has made numerous appearances in pioneering series to spread her wisdom through poetry, spoken word and song.

She taught heroes such as Herry Monster, Baby Natasha and Elmo about words that begin with the letter of the day and how to use them. She took part in the performance of iconic sesame songs, including "Sing" and "A New Way to Walk". And she'll even appear on the Christmas special Elmo Saves Christmas in 1996.

3 Stevie Wonder

Sesame Street had a seemingly endless string of iconic musical moments. But none of them will ever match the sheer joy of Stevie Wonder's fourth season appearance on the show at 1972, and his back and forth episode with Grover's cute and furry little friend. Miracle would have spent most of the episode teaching Grover music and various playing and singing styles.

He would also sing a song he specifically wrote for his appearance, "123 Sesame Street." But perhaps even more special than that was Wander's rendition of his then-hit song "Superstition" - a song that would hardly fit into today's Sesame universe, but truly a one-of-a-kind rendition that stands the test of time as something truly special,

2 Lupita Nyong'o

Sesame has always been an incredibly inclusive series, but arguably one of their most influential segments, and one that instantly went viral when its premiere consisted of an Academy Award-winning actress » Lupita Nyong'o.
