Danny and his friend the dinosaur

    Publisher: Melik-Pashaev, 2020

    May-shop

The collection includes three tales about Danny and the Dinosaur. An inquisitive boy named Danny goes to the museum. He considers Indians, bears, Eskimos, guns, swords. And, finally, in one of the halls he sees dinosaurs. Danny is a smart boy, he knows that these ancient reptiles have died out long ago, but suddenly one of the museum dinosaurs spoke to him. Danny was truly happy. Sitting on the neck of a new friend, Danny goes to the city. Perhaps the Dinosaur was even luckier than Danny. He enjoys ice cream, plays hide-and-seek with children, learns to follow commands with the Puppy with pleasure, does good deeds - he becomes a bridge over which you can cross to the other side of the street, and saves a crane operator in trouble. He even becomes a celebrity: when he and Danny come to the zoo, all the visitors, forgetting about other animals, consider only the Dinosaur. Of course, Danny would like to take the Dinosaur home with him. How great it would be to live together with such an amazing, huge and kind pet! But it turns out that the Dinosaur has a sense of duty: he returns to the museum because HE IS NEEDED THERE. And in parting, he says that together with Danny, he experienced his best day in many millions of years. The stories about Danny and the Dinosaur are rightfully considered classics of children's early reading. A single space of words and pictures gives

    Haunted hotel

    Publisher: Melik-Pashaev, 2020

    May-shop

In the second book of the series, a wonderful red-haired family - dad Mick and his children Emma and Lucas - take on a new detective investigation.

The Hotel at the Crab on Norderney is apparently haunted and therefore no one stays there. While Papa Mick is checking into a hotel, Emma and Lucas ambush him near him.

It's good that great-uncle Janssen had a perfectly equipped detective van especially for such cases. It has literally everything, starting with all sorts of technical innovations that allow you to see and hear literally through the walls, and ending with an impressive supply of food that can come in handy during a multi-day period of surveillance of a criminal.

And the ghosts don't keep you waiting. From their howl and roar, the walls shake and move. And they scare Mick's dad so much that he leaves the hotel in a terrible panic. But scaring Emma and Lucas is not so easy. In addition, they guess that under the guise of ghosts, dishonorable and insidious people are probably encrypted. They return to the hotel and, risking their lives, not only expose the criminals, but also save the life of a noble old lady.

    The caterpillar that envied everyone

    Publisher: Melik-Pashaev, 2020

    May-shop

About what: a nondescript black caterpillar is so upset - all the inhabitants of the garden have something beautiful. The ladybug has a red back with black spots, the bumblebee has a velvet vest ... Only the caterpillar has nothing like that. She sighs enviously, is sad and does not even suspect that soon all the inhabitants of the garden will admire her.

    What happened next? Guess?

The caterpillar was in for a surprise! She could not believe that such a miracle could happen to her - she turned into a butterfly. Now all the inhabitants of the flower bed admire its beauty.

In this exciting picture book, little ones will encounter familiar bumblebees, grasshoppers, spiders and more. All of them are drawn realistically, and therefore easily recognizable.

The spider who was not afraid of anything

    Publisher: Melik-Pashaev, 2020

But Spider does not listen to them and boldly goes forward towards adventure! However, friends now and then call her for help, pulling the thread-spider web. And every time the alarm turns out to be false. What fools and cowards they all are! Or not? Indeed, if you look closely, they pull the Spider just at the moment when hungry birds, toothy fish and furry animals open their beaks, mouths and mouths to swallow the brave Spider. And then these "stupid and cowardly" unite and drive away the huge Frog, which hypnotizes the Spider with a look so that it finally becomes scared too.

      Cartoon, Adventure

Cartoon about a small iguanodon raised by lemurs

The first Disney cartoon made using computer animation. This is the story of the iguanodon Aladar, left without parents and raised (!) by lemurs. After his old home is destroyed by a meteorite, he and four lemurs set off in search of a new permanent residence - and join the herd of dinosaurs. Among them he finds friends, enemies and his love. A little bit of "The Land Before Time", a little bit of "Ice Age". Not exactly a masterpiece, but not entirely a failure either. In one word: normcore.

    • Godzilla

      Thriller

      Godzilla attacks New York

Critics scolded for nothing, but pleased with the irresistible disaster film of two famous masters of the destruction of large forms - directed by Roland Dinaris Emmer and screenwriter Rolanda Emmer. The whole beauty of the picture is in its delicate filling: it is like a romantic comedy about the awkward doctor Nick Tatopoulos (Matthew Broderick) and the even more awkward TV journalist Audrey Timmons (Maria Pitillo), disguised as a daring blockbuster about a huge iguana crushing New York (in the American version Godzilla is not a dinosaur, but a lizard mutated due to nuclear tests). Balancing in this way on the border of genres, the film manages to be both incredibly dynamic and homerically funny - Jean Reno is especially beautiful in the sparkling role of French intelligence agent Philippe Rocher. In addition, it is worth saying that an animated sequel series was shot for the film, and Broderick's character was named after the famous Hollywood production designer (including Godzilla) Patrick Tatopoulos.

    • The Lost World

      The Adventure

John Rhys-Davies as Professor John Challenger

Countless adaptations of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel of the same name, more suited to Jules Verne. Professor Challenger (John Rhys-Davies) and his companions make an expedition to South Africa, where they stumble upon dinosaurs, which the natives worship as gods. An old-school adventure movie that comes with the sequel "Return to the Lost World" and is close in spirit to the archaeological films about Indiana Jones and Allan Quatermain, which is no wonder: the bearded hero John Rhys-Davies starred in all these films. Rhys-Davies also starred in the role of Professor Arturo in the TV series Sliders, where there was also a series about dinosaurs. Coincidence? We don't think.

    • The Land Before Time

      Animation

Animation about dinosaurs in search of Paradise Valley

A heartbreaking road movie produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Something like "Bambi", but in a prehistoric way. As a result of the drought, the dinosaurs are forced to migrate to the fertile Great Valley. However, during such a journey, the little Apatosaurus Littlefoot loses his mother (a scene that can drive one into melancholy, no worse than a similar episode from a cartoon about a deer) and finds friends. Dinosaurs expect a lot of adventures and dangers, the main of which is the Tyrannosaurus Sharptooth. AT 90-e "The Land Before Time" was a real hit video rental in Russia. But all subsequent sequels (at the moment there are 13 films and one animated series) no longer caused such an exciting stir.

      - this time in the setting of the "Lost World": the heroes find a world hidden underground, inhabited by dinosaurs. Also cited are The Divine Comedy, Pirates of the Caribbean, King Kong, The Flintstones, and Jurassic Park 3. That is, the cartoon has few of its notions, but it uses someone else's heritage to the fullest.

      20 years later

Reboot of Spielberg's "Jurassic Park", under his careful supervision. Changes in the plot are cosmetic (dinosaurs are still getting out of control and taking over the park), but the film perfectly reflects the spirit of the time: viewers, fed up with old attractions, show less and less interest in prehistoric dinosaurs, attendance at Jurassic World is falling - and then, in order to raise its popularity, the owners decide to create a new (unsafe) specimen: the indominus rex. In this case, only another Spielberg hero, Indiana Jones, can save the situation. Its new modification is brought to light by director Colin Trevorrow in the person of velociraptor trainer and former Marine Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt.

    • We are back! Dinosaur Story

      Animation, Adventure, Family

Four Dinosaurs Adventures in New York

Another dinosaur cartoon produced by Steven Spielberg. But this time it is an adaptation of the children's book of the same name by Hudson Talbott. Formally, it looks like The Land Before Time, richly flavored with The Time Machine by HG Wells. At the same time, the great-grandson of the famous science fiction writer, Simon Wells, is symbolically listed as one of the directors of the film. In the story, an eccentric professor endows four prehistoric monsters with intelligence, after which they turn into good-natured merry fellows and are transported to the future, where they meet a boy named Louis. However, despite the abundance of comic episodes, there are some really dark moments in the cartoon - mainly related to the professor's crazy brother, Evil Eyes, who intends to return the dinosaurs to their natural state.

Steven Spielberg's landmark film about the dinosaur sanctuary

Perhaps the best film ever made about dinosaurs. A film adaptation of Michael Crichton's novel, in which Spielberg's trademark humanism hides a big story about a billionaire's dream that runs into harsh reality; a paleontologist, to whom small children become more familiar than prehistoric pangolins, and a life that can always find a way out.

Game version of the popular science series of the BBC channel. There is no voiceover from Nikolai Drozdov, in this film the dinosaurs themselves can speak perfectly. It tells about the pachyrhinosaurus Patchi, who will have to grow up. And find out the relationship with his brother - Khmur. Dramatic twists and turns are periodically interrupted by footnotes that are educational in nature. That is, despite the fact that this is a feature film, it does not forget about its sci-pop roots.

In David Eyre's new police action film "Brightness", a black-skinned policeman is given as a partner. The idea is interesting, but not new. In Jonathan R. Bethuel's comedy buddy movie, Whoopi Goldberg's tough cop was attached to a dinosaur at all, even though they were brought back to life in the alternate year 2013. This dinosaur turned out to be the tyrannosaurus Theodore Rex, who, together with his partner, takes on the investigation of a murder that is formally connected with dinocide, but in fact with the onset of a new Ice Age.
