2. Ending Without Stories (3:42)

This time I die

Our love ruined by your malignance
Broken shards of feelings are now just tainted memories left
Beautiful dreams that I cherished now are so disgusting
As I strangle the light from you

I watched The smile fading from your face
You bleed Till there was nothing in your veins
Blood stains my hands so, I won't forget you
It's all over now
So dry your eyes
There is no forgiveness
Be afraid to die
Blood stains my hands
So I won't forget you

Tears fall as your screams of anguish rage throughout the heavens
Amidst the penance you must pay
Caress this bullet as eyes close to the painful memories you left
Consume the rest of me
My vision of you has now turned to dust
Your porcelain smile gone

I watched The smile fading from your face
You bleed Till there was nothing in your veins
Blood stains my hands so, I won't forget you
It's all over now
So dry your eyes
There is no forgiveness
Be afraid to die
Blood stains my hands
So I won't forget you

You let me go
You let me go too soon
I love you are meaningless words that slip away as I slit your throat
I'll slit your throat

ALESANA LYRICS - "Try This With Your Eyes Closed" (2005) EP

1.

Apology

Sweat drips in my eyes
Screams of lust we cry
Tonight, you are, everything
You're everything...
You're everything to me

No more as I wake
From this perfect dream...
I'll escape from Eden's walls
Can I not stay and live this lie?
For I must think only of myself

And to think that you will not be scared
Or surprised I severed all these ties
This is the end

I'll lose myself in anguish for tonight
Help me get over you

I feel so numb to see this bitter end...
(It has come to this...) End of beautiful illusions
(Broken pieces) Will not mend
(...One last kiss) To save our past now

I'll lose myself in anguish for tonight
Help me get over you
One last false apology
Help me get over you

Now we must let go...

Urgency overwhelms me as I must restrain my flood of tears

I refuse to be slave to your false beauty again

I'll lose myself in anguish for tonight
Help me get over you
One last false apology
Help me get over you

In my mind blood drips from your eyes
A beautiful last goodbye

blood stains my hands so I won't forget you

you let me go
you let me go too soon
I love you are meaningless words that slip away as I slit your throat
and I will slit your throat

3. And They Call This Tragedy

You make me sick

I'll tear out those diamond eyes
I can't bear to see
crimson spills on paper skin
they call this tragedy

remembering the nights when you'd whisper to me soft,
"Forever more my heart is yours."
realize those words have died

as the life fades from your eyes, fades from your eyes
all that I can say is it may not be too late
try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
or else die for all I care

if I cannot be loved (your face disgusts me...) then none shall be
think of this (...smile and bear your lies) as I softly
kiss your blood (this broken trust will...) glazed lips once more
on this night (. ..become your demise) this thing you call "love" dies

as the life fades from your eyes, fades from your eyes
all that I can say is it may not be too late
try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
or else die for all I care

after today silence will haunt you
expect no (expect no) forgiveness
after today (your life...)
silence will haunt you (...will end...)
expect no forgiveness (...tonight)

now I grit my teeth and finish what I know must be done to kill the memory of you...
now I grit my teeth and finish what I know must be done to kill the memory of you...
and you said this would be forever
you said this would be forever

as the life fades from your eyes, fades from your eyes
all that I can say is it may not be too late
try again, make it perfect, make me worth it
or else die for all I care

4. Not A Single Word About This

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know

I can't help believing in you. ..
The idea of beauty leaves me enslaved
Say you'll stay for tonight
And I promise you this will be the last

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know
At your feet I now lay
You are the only thing I know, I know

I stare blindly into my reflection
A piece of me lost... I am terrified
That I cannot breathe without you
I am nothing in my eyes if not lost
I can't see past your eyes,
Without them I would die
Shackles cut my wrists as I fight the chains
None can hold me

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know
At your feet I now lay
You are the only thing I know, I know

In a room where I once told you everything,
I am alone, I am alone
Once beholden to nothing
And no one how is it that I am slave
to these eyes which glisten with untold secrets
that I crave so wildly to understand?
I must steel my heart to your warm gaze
I'll claw out my eyes and see you no more

It's because of you I sometimes wish that I would die
Sometimes I wish I would die
Leaving you behind
Enraptured by my ignorance,
I now deserve sympathy

5.

Red And Dying Evening

you've taken the last of me
the god's of your innocence shall not protect you from the hate of my wrath
you've taken the last of me... blame the end on yourself
you deserve each tear that falls
scratch out your eyes

the blood will drown in red and I will leave you for dead
a lovely evening draped in regret
the shadow of justice now engulfs you
as cold hands reap the pain they've sewn
you've taken the last of me
blame the end on yourself
you deserve each tear that falls
scratch out your eyes

the blood will drown in red and I will leave you for dead
a lovely evening draped in regret
Forever gone
the taste of your death replaced the smell of your breath
a lovely evening draped in regret

suffocate your will to live with my pain
you were so easily seduced by greed
you could never feel my calloused hands closing around your throat
taste your loss
wake into the nightmare that has become our love
may your screams never cease
you've taken the last of me

6.

Congratulation, I Hate You

no one ever said that life was fair and I'm not saying that it should be
so knowing that you are what you want to be and I'm not comes as no surprise
but don't expect me to be happy for you
and don't smile at me and tell me things will work out for me too
I don't want your pity... I hate your pity

taste your vanity
and its sweet bitterness as you hide behind your veil of my stolen hopes and lost dreams
I watched you steal my thoughts and had to see you smile
you took them all

as you build your dreams on my shattered hopes
I'll look back on a day once loved and fantasize for tragedy

swallow your pride

beg me to make this easier and listen to my hopeless cries

suffer alone in emptiness
I lust to see you swallowed by the mess that you left in your wake
disgust lies deep within your empty gaze

beg me to make this easier and listen as my hopeless cries
send stares into your meaningless eyes

my envy can't describe how I loathe you for having all the stars
leaving my eyes to marvel the sky knowing it should be mine
yet it's you I see wasting the dream that only I deserve
I'll tear off your face to see your smile

as you build your dreams on my shattered hopes
I'll look back on a day once loved and fantasize for tragedy

swallow your pride

beg me to make this easier and listen to my hopeless cries
send stares into your meaningless eyes

7.

Early Mourning

Last night I forgot
How the sound of your voice whispered sweet
Goodbyes, your eyes left to die
I'm alone to
Understand why

Why not one more night
One last kiss goodbye
My sweet love tonight
I hope the stars
Still spell out your name
Where you are...

Kiss my closing eyes
Help me sleep
Without you I'm so lost
Tonight I cry
Tell me why
I can't live
Without your warm embrace

Why not one more night
One last kiss goodbye
My sweet love tonight
I hope the stars still
Spell out your name
Where you are...

I close my eyes and you
Are everything I see
Goodbye

Goodbye to you my love
I won't forget you
I'll see you soon
Goodbye my love
Goodbye to you my love
I won't forget you
Let me live

8. Beautiful In Blue

[Reissue Bonus Track]

Silence screams, "you're just so beautiful in blue"
Breathless stares escape your undying eyes
Are you blind to my sorrow and sympathy?
A piece of me will die with your last breath. ..
This will all be over soon for you are so lost inside
Glazed eyes long for the waves' embrace
Drawn to an end so near...

Far away are days when you smiled just to hear my voice
Why are you trying to run away?
My love, I can't find the words to tell you...

Drown all of your fantasies
Silent angel crashes through the sky
With your final broken promise
Having lost sight of the stars

Regail me with your tales of lonely, bittersweet loss
Giving up comes too easy when hope is gone
I'll walk away so you can choke on your dying breath
But if you side against me, to hell with you...

Far away are days when you smiled just to hear my voice
Why are you trying to run away?
My love, I can't find the words to tell you...

The fear has stolen her heart as she wakes from her dream
Treacherous ink finds her lungs, seizing her screams
Numb hands now reach too late to take back the light

Far away are days when you smiled just to hear my voice
Why are you trying to run away?
My love, I can't find the words to tell you. ..
Far away are days when you smiled...
Seas cry out butchering this tragic soul without hope
Their frailty is broken and now fades into the blue...

Ending of a work: mistakes, rules, types, techniques

2. General rules for ending a work.

3. Types of endings for various reasons.

4. Techniques for completing the ending itself.

The ending of a work is no less important element of the structure than the plot and twists and turns. Sometimes not only the success of the book depends on it, but also the desire of the reader to turn to other works of the writer, to tell his friends and acquaintances about what he has read.

Now it is fashionable to abruptly change the fate of the hero - for example, by the will of the author, to kill everyone at the end, although nothing suggested such a denouement. Boldly, unexpectedly, the reader gasps and ... is disappointed. Disappointment replaces the feeling of satisfaction from reading, the reader regrets that he opened this book at all. The reader is deceived for other reasons, for example, when the ending does not correspond to the declared genre.

Confusing the reader. The reader followed the fate of the hero with interest, but in the end he cannot understand whether the tasks have been solved or not? For example, the heroine won the heart of the chosen one for a long time and, it seems, won it, but the novel ends with a meaningful scene: he and she meet, are silent to some music. The reader exclaims: “Well?! What?!” turns the page, and it’s empty.

Insolent incompleteness. The hero solves problems, but immediately gets entangled in a tangle of new ones. To be continued. However, the reader did not know at the very beginning that this novel is just the first book of a trilogy. A common technique now, when it seems to the writer or publisher that if you announce the continuation at the end, then the reader will certainly begin to scour in search of the second volume. It will not start - for this the book must be super good. This technique can be used (subject to "super good") when the sequel is already written, and you can find it right away, and not wait a year or two. What works for Game of Thrones doesn't always work for books.

The ending is out of logic. The hero solves problems in such a non-standard way that the reader generally ceases to understand what is at stake. A horror-horror example: a charming hero searches for his beloved all the way, finds, kills her and rejoices - there is no more problem, and he himself, it turns out, is a maniac in the tenth generation.

Banality (depreciation of the plot) of the ending. Examples - the sea: “I dreamed everything”, “a miracle happened”, “the hero was sick, and now he has recovered”, “he got out of a coma (lethargy), in which everything was dreamed up”, “unknown forces intervened (God, the devil, friends , Wallet with money)". We also include happy endings without proper reason, and the “I’ll kill everyone as soon as possible, because I’m tired of writing” technique.

Ending like “we are ours, we will build a new world” or “kiss on the ruins”. A common technique in films and books: a couple sits (stands) on the stones of a ruined city, on a pile of charred corpses, in a desert that was previously planet Earth, and enjoys life. There is a credibility issue. The reader simply does not believe in a "happy" ending.

Small heap ending. The writer decides it's time to quit. As a result, thirty-three lines of the novel are completed in one chapter. Episodes pile up one on top of the other, often not connected at all. In terms of volume, the tie is much larger than the denouement.

Can't stop ending. All tasks are solved, but the writer cannot part with his characters in any way, invents new adventures for them, not related to the previous plot, writes an epilogue, and then another afterword, dictionary, sequels, prequels, and so on. And not separately - all this beauty is thrown into the ending.

Ending “how to do everything in time” . Yes, problems are solved, but the writer suddenly found that he had not fully realized his potential. He starts inserting inappropriate humor, anecdotes, arguments and facts, hypotheses and concepts, transferring his knowledge about everything in the world, often in a hurry putting it all into the mouths of the characters, creating a lot of dialogues that add nothing to the plot.

The ending “The moral of this fable is…” The style of the story becomes pompous, and each decision (denouement) is accompanied by a moral for the reader.

Errors are easy to understand. Why do writers allow them? It would be necessary to remember the rules of the ending not when it has already been written, but even when planning the work. One of the important rules is not to start a book without knowing what will happen at the end. Just when approaching the “vice versa”, the writer either quits what he started, or writes the ending “anyhow”.

2. General rules for ending a story:

► The perfect ending, when the reader gets what he hoped for, plus a bonus of surprise, discovery, insight.

► A good ending evokes in the reader a sense of satisfaction from what they read, regret that there is no continuation, a desire to read something else from this author, or even re-read the book, because there is a sense of the value of the entire plot, a desire to check their impressions.

► The book must be without "zero effect" - a typical ending for the proposed continuation, plot completed, even if there is a continuation of the hero's adventures.

► The reader must understand the logic of the ending - what the writer wanted to say - be ready for it.

► A good writer avoids platitudes and clichés at the end.

► The ending must be authentic. The reader must see the grounds, the reasons for a happy or unhappy ending, believe in them, understand that it is impossible otherwise.

► The ending requires the same thoroughness as the beginning of the work. It should be no less, and even more interesting for the reader.

► Distinguish the ending from the epilogue and afterword. In the end, denouement is important - the removal of collisions, a variety of conflict resolution, the completion of storylines.

Author's afterword is the antonym of the preface, in which the writer argues, expresses his opinion, gives final explanations not according to the plot, but according to the ideas in it.

Epilogue is the antonym of the prologue, is written after the ending as necessary and is a separate story about the fate of the heroes in the future. The events in the epilogue, as a rule, occur after the denouement and are not connected with the plot of the work, most often after a break, a long time after the events in the novel.

► A good ending does not contain distractions (outside the plot) of any kind (jokes, anecdotes, concepts, digressions, author's reflections, etc.). However, this rule applies to the whole work. Everything is good in place.

► A good ending will do without morality and pathos. The reader will draw his own conclusions.

► The ending of a work is always determined by its genre and plot.

What are the endings? There are many types for various reasons, we will talk about the most important ones.

0010

Circular (cyclic) - the event at the end repeats the event (location, participating characters) of the beginning with the resolution of the problems posed, a new look at what happened.

Returning (tie) ending - the event at the end returns the reader to an event that was significant in the course of the story and whose problems were never resolved before.

Frame - the ending does not go beyond the place of action indicated earlier.

Loop ending - the ending almost completely repeats the beginning.

Illusory (circle, loop) — the ending is similar to the beginning, but the level of comprehension is new.

In relation to time:

Time ending - events start and end at a certain period of time. At the end, events occur that continue the story and put everything in its place.

A) Chronological - everything ends in time in the same order as it arose, in chronological order.

B) Futuristic - transition from the present to the future, the ending tells about the future, unlike the epilogue, it is not a separate story, but continues (and ends) the story.

C) Switching - the ending changes time plans: from the present to the future, from the past to the present.

Epilogue Ending - all conflicts, problems in the work are not resolved at the same time, at the end it tells about the events that happen to the characters after some time, the end of all plot lines.

Ending in relation to the main meaning:

Retribution - everything ends with retribution for the deed for the hero and characters.

Reward - in the end, everything is not only resolved well, but is a significant reward for the hero and characters.

The solution - at the end answers to all riddle questions of all storylines are given.

Generalization of — a rational-logical summary of everything that happened before is summed up.

Evaluation - all tasks are solved, the main events, the actions of the characters to resolve conflicts are assessed. The assessment can be the author's, or it can be given from the point of view of the hero, character.

Style ends:

Happy ending - the events at the end may not seem very happy to the reader, but for the characters they are happiness.

Happy ending - a clear division of a happy ending for positive heroes and punishment (retribution) for negative ones.

Tragic ending - everything is bad for the characters, but the reader experiences catharsis.

Ending in relation to the plot of the work:

Closed (full) - all storylines are logically completed.

A) Conditionally closed - problems are partially resolved, the rest - in continuation or guessed by the reader.

B) Closed provocative - problems are resolved, but a hint is given for the continuation of the hero's adventures.

C) An abrupt ending - instant closing of storylines.

Open (incomplete) - the formal completion of the story, the exhaustion of only one idea.

A) Plot fork (variable) - open ending, talking about the continuation of the story in a new work.

B) Innuendo - a deliberately open ending that awakens the imagination and gives the reader the opportunity to think how everything could be.

Unexpected ending - everything turned upside down, change of emotions, reader's perceptions, new information, rethinking of the plot.

Emotional ending:

Neutral - the reader was worried while reading, the story is completely finished, all storylines are closed.

Expressive open - the reader experiences the strongest emotions at the end, because he wants, but does not receive answers to all questions, storylines are partially or completely incomplete.

Expressively closed — the reader gets all the strong emotions at the end, insight, catharsis.

4. Techniques for completing the ending itself:

1). Quote: the hero or author quotes someone smart at the very end, giving meaning to the whole work.

2). Hero's monologue: the hero in his own speech summarizes everything that happened, for example, typical for detectives.

3). Call, mobilization: At the end of a story, a call is made by the hero or author, prompting the reader to take a physical or psychological action, such as joining a dolphin rescue society or buying a sequel book.

4) Problem, question: at the end a general question is asked, a new problem arises, forcing the reader to think.

5) Poetry: poetic description, details, poem, digression at the very end.

6) Conclusion: at the end, brief conclusions are made, conclusions on all problems, ideas.

7) Moral: the hero or the author is engaged in moralizing for himself or his readers at the end, but such an ending is one of the elements of the tale.

8) Paphos: “the highest point of inspiration, emotional feeling, delight, achieved in a literary work and in its perception by the reader, reflecting significant events in society and the spiritual upsurge of heroes” (Dictionary of Literary Terms).

❤️ “About love”. Summary of Chekhov's story

Very briefly: The poor landowner and his friend's wife loved each other for many years, but were afraid to confess their love, believing that they were unworthy of it. It was only when they parted forever that they realized what little things prevented them from loving.

Pavel Konstantinovich Alekhin, an old bachelor, received guests at his estate.

Pavel Konstantinovich Alekhin - the owner of a large but not rich estate, a bachelor, intelligent and educated, gentle and indecisive.

At breakfast they started talking about Alyokhin's cook. A beautiful maid was in love with this cook, but she did not marry him. The cook was devout, he did not want to live with a woman out of wedlock, he often got drunk and beat her.

Ads:

This story prompted the guests to start talking about love. Alekhin believed that no one knows how love is born. He did not understand why this beautiful woman fell in love with such an unpleasant person, and believed that the Russians complicate love with "fatal questions" - is it good or bad, honest or dishonest, and where everything will lead. Such questions hinder love and put insurmountable obstacles in the way of the strongest feeling.

Alekhin told the story of his life as an example.

People who live alone always have something in their hearts that they would gladly tell.

Alekhin's father had a big debt, partly because he spent a lot on his son's education. Therefore, after graduating from the university, Alekhin returned to his native estate, determined to work off his debt.

By nature, Alekhin was a white-handed person and at first did not want to part with "his cultural habits." He settled in front rooms, drank coffee with liqueurs in the morning, and read Vestnik Evropy at night. But this life did not last long. Alekhin got involved in work that he did not like at all, ate in the people's room and often spent the night not in his own bed, but "in a barn, in a sleigh or somewhere in a forest lodge."

Advertising:

At the very beginning, Alekhin became an honorary magistrate, and his only entertainment was to "run into the city and take part in the meetings of the congress and the district court." In early spring, during one of these trips, Alekhin met Dmitry Luganovich, deputy chairman of the district court, and his lovely wife Anna Alekseevna.

Dmitry Luganovich - judicial official over forty years old, kind, but boring and limited.

Anna Alekseevna - Luganovich's wife, much younger than her husband, slender, beautiful blonde, smart, intelligent.

Alekhin has never met such a pretty, kind and intelligent woman. It was clear that the Luganovich family lived together - the couple did everything together, they had a daughter. All summer Alekhin thought about the blond Anna Alekseevna, but he saw her again only in late autumn.

They met at a charity performance, and since then Alekhin has become his own in their house. He came without an invitation, played with the child, talked for a long time with Anna Alekseevna. The Luganovichi knew about Alekhine's plight, were constantly worried about him, believed that such an educated person should be engaged in science, and tried to lend him money. The Luganoviches were wealthy people, but Alekhin tried not to borrow from them, and then they simply gave him valuable things.

Advertisement:

The unfortunate Alekhin, in love with Anna Alekseevna, could not understand what made her become the wife of an elderly, uninteresting and too simple Luganovich for her. Arriving in the city, Alekhin understood that Anna Alekseevna was waiting for him, but they did not have the courage to confess their love to each other.

Alekhin believed that he could not give Anna Alekseevna anything, and therefore had no right to destroy her happy family. She thought about her husband and children and believed that her love would not bring happiness to Alekhine - it seemed to her that she was not young and energetic enough.

Years passed. Anna Alekseevna gave birth to a second child. Children called Alekhine uncle, and adults considered him a "noble creature." Anna Alekseevna began to realize that her life was ruined, and she was treated for a nervous breakdown. Alekhin irritated her, and in public she constantly contradicted him.

Luganovich was appointed chairman of the western province. While her husband was selling property, Anna Alekseevna decided to go to Crimea to heal her nerves. They saw her off with a large crowd. Before the train left, Alekhin noticed that she had forgotten one of the baskets and ran into the carriage.

Advertisement:

Left alone, at that last moment they confessed their love to each other, and Alekhin realized how petty was everything that prevented them from loving.

... when you love, then in your reasoning about this love you need to start from the highest, from more important than happiness or unhappiness, sin or virtue ... or you don’t need to reason at all.

They kissed and parted forever.

After listening to the story, the guests went out onto the balcony, admired the view, felt sorry for such an educated person who did not do science, but twirled around like a squirrel in a wheel, and thought about the mournful parting scene. One of the guests even knew Anna Alekseevna and "found her beautiful.
