9005 Papers: Benefits for Child DevelopmentSpeech Development
As children interact with and play with the puppets, they organize their thoughts and improve their speech.
Children develop sentence structure naturally and use active vocabulary to express their point of view. Their interactions often reflect their experience and knowledge of the real world, giving children the opportunity to better understand this information in play.
Imagination development
Dolls are the main toys for role-playing games and allow children to develop their creative imagination.
When a child plays, stories and characters with personalities appear. They may feel happy, sad, or sassy and stupid.
With animal dolls, children can simply waste time meowing like a cat and mooing like a cow. This, of course, is also good!
The process of playing with finger theater offers a leap for their creativity, and as role play develops, children will develop their language and storytelling skills without even realizing it.
Fine motor development
When children manipulate finger puppets to move, change their position from finger to finger, children's fine motor skills are involved.
Playing with dolls is also good for hand-eye coordination.
All these useful skills are developed by playing with finger puppets. And if a child helps you make a finger theater out of paper with his own hands, he improves:

Paper finger puppets / Origami for children and beginners, how to make paper crafts, assembly schemes, modular origami / Yozhka
Finger puppets are excellent speech trainers for children. With their help, you can play small scenes or whole performances. Finger puppets are usually sewn from fabric - they are also called glove puppets . But you can start introducing your baby to finger puppets by making paper characters for performances.
Here, for example, is a scheme for folding animal muzzles out of paper on a finger using the origami technique.
Kitten, puppy, fox, hare or pig can be folded according to this scheme.
1. Take a square piece of paper. Fold it diagonally. At the bottom paper triangle, we bend the part inward. The top of the folded part should touch the middle of the main fold.
2. Bend the right and left edges down to the center.
3. We bend the paper both left and right up.
4. Bend the edges again. Not close!
5. A narrow triangle of paper pointing down, bend up.
6. We fill a small triangle at the top back.
Depending on the muzzle of which little animal we want to make, we bend the ears. We take felt-tip pens or pencils and paint the muzzle.
For those who found this description difficult, we recommend watching the following video:
For the smallest, you can show simple performances about the acquaintance and communication of characters, teaching the baby the rules of communication with people.
Older children will be able to put the doll on their finger and participate in the dialogue. Hiding behind puppets, children often say things that they would not say in ordinary life, playing the situations that excite them, telling the puppet characters about their fears and experiences. The staging of performances helps the development of the child's communicative abilities, develops the expressiveness of speech and the ability to formulate one's thoughts.
Do-it-yourself finger puppets
Finger puppets are a very useful play tool for children that helps develop speech, imagination, creativity, and learn communication skills. Making your own finger puppet is not difficult in principle, but there is one important point that needs to be mentioned.
The doll should have a pretty face, but it is quite difficult to create it. In our master class, the faces of the dolls are made in the style of a children's drawing, which is usually liked by the guys. But if you need to make a more realistic face, you can use thermal stickers sold in specialty stores, or paint it with oil paints.
For work we will need: a piece of pink or flesh-colored matter, preferably elastic; sewing threads and needles; yarn for creating hairstyles; colored shreds for clothes; for embroidery of the face of dolls, you can use beads, fishing line and a needle for beads.
First sew the doll's head. To avoid wrinkles on it, you need to use either an elastic fabric, or make the parts of the head of an unequal size; then the smaller detail will be the “back of the head” of the doll, and the larger one will be the “face”, and wrinkles, if any, will hide under the hair. We sew the details of the head, slightly picking up a large part evenly along the entire contour.
Turn the crown right side out. Now you need to sew on the body of the pupa, which will be worn on the finger. It can be done immediately from a colored patch, then there will be no need to sew clothes. We sew a rectangular patch, as in the photo, so that the seam connecting its edges turns out to be on the back of the doll.
The next step is to make the hair. It is more convenient to thread yarn with a long gypsy needle, but you can also use an ordinary sewing needle. If thin yarn is used, you can make hair on the entire head of the doll, and if the yarn is quite thick, it is better to limit yourself to the contour of the face or, as in our case, parting. Otherwise, the hairstyle will be unnaturally lush. We perform a row of loops on both sides of the parting, so that we get two rows of loops on each side.
We embroider a face. There is nothing complicated in the embroidery itself, but it is very important to fix the fishing line at the beginning and at the end of the work. To do this, you can melt its tip on the fire, and, until it has cooled down, glue it to the head in an inconspicuous place under the hair. So the beads from which the doll's face is embroidered will definitely not come off.
The braids can now be braided and then neatly trimmed.
And finally, you need to sew a dress. We do not need a complex silhouette, a regular T-shaped cut is enough. Handles can be sewn to the sleeves of the dress, and a frill can be made along the hem. After finishing the dress, you need to put it on the doll, and sew the neckline to the upper body, just under the head.
Similarly, we make the figure of a boy. The difference is only in the length of the hair and the details of the clothes.
Our finger puppets are ready. Now we can start rehearsing the first performance.
p.s. Don't be greedy, share with your friends 🙂

DIY finger puppets for children. How to do it
We develop wisely
Finger theater is one of the varieties of finger games. And finger games are simply necessary for the child as part of the educational process and are indispensable for home schooling. This type of creativity helps to develop fine motor skills, imagination, and communication skills in a child. In the process of choosing characters for a fairy tale, you can invent your own fairy tale and your characters: for example, you can come up with a completely new creature and give it a name .... After all, the world of fantasy is limitless!
Today we will learn that making a finger puppet with your own hands is not only an interesting and exciting activity, but also very easy. Puppets can be made together with children - and soon the children themselves will be able to make their favorite characters from fairy tales and show adults their first theatrical performances.
To make finger puppets with your own hands, it is necessary, first of all, to turn on your imagination and decide for which production, for which fairy tale we need characters. Will it be a Russian folk tale about Kolobok or the chicken Ryaba? Or maybe it will be a fairy tale about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or about Cinderella?
It is convenient that in many fairy tales characters are repeated: in foreign fairy tales, as a rule, kings, queens, princes and princesses are most often present; in domestic fairy tales - animals are often found: a fox, a wolf, a bear, a hare, etc.
e. Thus, if we make puppets for a fairy tale about a kolobok, we will no longer have a question - how to make finger puppets for "Turnip" or "Ryaba's Hen".
DIY finger puppets
And so, when we have decided on a fairy tale, we will start making dolls. For example, to make a “Russian Folk” kit, which includes a wolf, a fox, a bunny and a bear, we will need:
- A set of colored felt
- Threads with needles
- Glue stick
- A set of large and small beads
- Waterproof marker
- Scissors
I am evil and scary…
We will look at how to make a do-it-yourself finger puppet from felt using the example of a wolf from the “Russian folk set”. According to the same sample, it will be possible to make any other character later.
- And so, first you need to draw the desired template - a sample on paper. In this case, we draw a wolf - the back and front parts.
- Then you need to cut it out along the contour, and, having attached it with pins to the felt, now cut out the felt figure of our wolf. We take the felt of the corresponding color - gray.
- Now we can sew both parts of our character, leaving a hole for the finger at the bottom - the size should be calculated not only for the child's finger, but also for yours, because both you and the baby will play.
- When all the parts of our wolf are sewn, we take black threads and sew the nose. To do this, several times we wrap the place for the wolf's nose with black threads so that it turns out to be voluminous, one might say "in 3D".
- The same black threads can be used to mark the places of the wolf's claws and outline the eyes. The eyes themselves can be made from large black beads by sewing them to the felt. Before to how to make teeth for a finger puppet - take white felt and cut them out along the contour, along with fangs. Now, using a glue stick, glue the teeth to the gray muzzle on both sides.
- To complete the look, you can add a few finishing touches with a waterproof marker: for example, spots on the chest or belly of a wolf, or a red tongue hanging from its mouth.
You can also cut out and sew on an additional accessory - a hat or a bow tie, so that our wolf turns out to be a real gentleman: it depends on the plot of the fairy tale and on your imagination.
You can also make a wolf from plain paper, for this we save and print the following template, and then it remains only to cut and glue.
The easiest way to make finger puppets
Take any glove, cut off the fingers and make certain characters out of them using thread colors and in general everything that comes to mind, as well as what is at hand.

Glue the tail to the bottom of the cone on the inside.
Paint the mouse teardrop ears, apply glue to the bottom and stick to the middle of the cone.
