A very handy online text tool where you can change between lower case and upper case letters, where you can capitalize, uncapitalize, convert to mix case and transform your text. Explore the options below:

Sentence Case

The sentence case converter will allow you to paste any text you’d like, and it will automatically transform it to a fully formed structured sentence.

It works by capitalizing the very first letter in each sentence, and will then go on to transform the rest of the text into lowercase as well as converting i’s into I’s. Every letter after a full stop will get converted into an upper case letter.

Note: it won’t, however, capitalize names or places.

This is an example of sentence case.

Lower Case

If you are wondering how to uncapitalize text, this is exactly what the lower case text converter will allow you to do - it transforms all the letters in your text into lowercase letters. Simply copy the text that you need generating into lower case and paste the text into the box above and select the ‘lower case’ tab.

this is an example of lower case.

Upper Case

The upper case transformer will take any text that you have and will generate all the letters into upper case ones. It will essentially make all lower case letters into CAPITALS (as well as keep upper case letters as upper case letters).

To do this, you simply have to select the text that you need changing and pasting into the box above and then select the UPPER CASE tab.

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF UPPER CASE.

Capitalized Case

The capitalized case converter will automatically convert the starting letter of every word into an upper case and will leave the remaining letters as lower case ones.

Simply copy the content that you will like to generate into this format, then paste into the box form above and select the Capitalized Case tab.

This Is An Example Of Capitalized Case.

Alternating Case

The alternating case converter will allow you to transform your text (no matter the current format) into text that alternates between lower case and upper case. It will generate a capital letter and then a lower case letter within the same word.

tHiS Is aN ExAmPlE Of aLtErNaTiNg cAsE.

Title Case

The title case converter is perfect for those who are a bit unsure on how to title an upcoming essay. It essentially ensures the correct letters are capitalized within the context of a title. Words such as “an” will be left all in lower case and words that are important will be converted such as “Title”.

What is the uppercase character on the keyboard

The first thing that falls into the hands of a computer user is a keyboard and a mouse. The ability to use various functions with the help of these attributes allows you to quickly solve tasks. If you ask a beginner what upper case is, he will probably point to the keys located at the top. In fact, this is far from being the case.

What is the upper and lower case on the keyboard

These concepts have come down to us since the days of typewriters. When typing, the usual type of writing was performed in the standard position of the equipment, which was called the lower one, and capital letters were applied to the paper when the position of the printing rods was changed, by moving them to the upper position. It is this function that the keyboards of modern mobile and stationary printing devices are endowed with.

By means of the “Shift” functional transfer button from one mode to another, the PC user can switch to uppercase or uppercase letters when writing texts, depending on the content requirements. At the same time, the numbers indicate punctuation marks or other symbols that are used when printing documents. In other words, uppercase is a printing mode in which letters become uppercase and numbers change to symbols. The lower one is the usual image of numbers and letters.

Where is the uppercase

Two keys for switching from one print mode to another are located on the keyboard: one on the lower left, and the other on the right - also at the bottom. This is done for the convenience of fast typing. If the letter to be capitalized is on the right, then the left side is used. When switching, press simultaneously, first "Shift" and then the desired character. And when the desired character is located on the left - vice versa. If it is convenient for the user to press both keys with one hand, then he does just that, for example, to display a comma!

ATTENTION! The keyboard of some mobile devices may have only one "Shift" key. This is due to the compact size of office equipment.

The ease of use of the upper mode allows you to quickly switch the function of the desired symbol from one position to another. In addition, on the left, above the "Shift" button, there is a key labeled "Caps Lock", which has the same functionality, but a different principle of operation.

Keyboard shifting methods

When typing texts, two switching modes are used:

  • short-term;
  • long.

The first of the listed methods switches the keyboard only at the moment of pressing the "Shift" key. As soon as the user releases it, printing continues in the normal mode - in capital letters.

The second method allows, after pressing the "Caps Lock" button, to change to uppercase and type capital letters until there is no need to use them. A separate keyboard indicator lights up when this mode is enabled and goes out only when the specified key is pressed again, which confirms the transition to uppercase symbols.

IMPORTANT! When "Caps Lock" is on, using the "Shift" button will have the opposite effect: when pressed, normal characters, and when released, capital letters.

Long mode is used when writing headings or emphasizing article titles.

The ability to quickly change from one case to another allows PC users to easily type the required texts by quickly inserting the necessary characters and capital letters.

What is upper and lower case on the keyboard?

Posted on by Avtomatika ConcernCategories:Equipment

When novice users first get acquainted with the keyboard, the question often arises: “What are the upper and lower case on the keyboard?”. It turns out that everything is very simple. Uppercase letters means that uppercase letters and, accordingly, lowercase and lowercase letters are currently being entered from the keyboard. That is, each sentence begins with a capital letter. We use capital letters for this. The rest of the sentence is written in "lowercase" letters, i.e., a lowercase letter is used. This is the answer to the question of what uppercase and lowercase letters are used on the keyboard. There are various ways to switch between input modes, which we will discuss later.

Momentary switching

Now we know what uppercase and lowercase letters are on the keyboard. Let's look at the main ways to switch between uppercase and lowercase letters. Passes temporary and permanent. Another method is implemented programmatically in office software. This will also be considered within the framework of this material. Let's start with a short term perspective. Every computer keyboard has a "Shift" key (some of them may have an up arrow instead of an inscription). If capital letters are entered at a certain time, pressing this key in combination with any text character will display it in lower case and vice versa. This method is convenient to use at the beginning of a sentence. That is, they entered an uppercase character, so everything is typed in lowercase.

Long dialing

You can change the uppercase and lowercase letters of the keyboard in another way. For these purposes, there is a special key "Caps Lock". It is usually found on the far left row of the keyboard between the Tab and Shift keys. When pressed, the register changes constantly. To determine the current mode, look at the LED on the keyboard with exactly the same inscription: "Caps Lock". If it is lit, it means that uppercase letters are entered, otherwise lowercase. To switch between modes, press this button again. This method is best used when you need to constantly enter text in the same format (for example, only uppercase characters) and switching between input formats, if this happens, does not happen as often.

For office applications

Another way to change uppercase and lowercase characters is implemented in the Microsoft office suite. Most often used in the text editor "Word". Have you forgotten to accidentally switch from uppercase to lowercase or vice versa while typing? Uppercase and lowercase characters in this case can be changed as follows. Select the necessary part of the text with the left mouse button or with the help of "Shift" and the cursor keys. Next, on the toolbar "Home" we find the subsection "Font". It has a button to change the case.
