i-Ready is a free educational app that helps students continue their lessons online.
Developed by Curriculum Associates, LLC, this e-learning tool is available for both mobile and desktop. It can be accessed by registered students under the i-Ready Learning program. It contains various lessons, learning-supplemented mini-games, and quizzes. The mobile app can access i-Ready, Ready Classroom Mathematics, and Learning Games. However, while it’s meant to be a convenient educational tool, this program instead hinders the students most of the time and isn’t too reliable to be used often. It’s meant to be a learning aid and not an independent instructor to students.

i-Ready is an online program for reading and mathematics that helps teachers determine their students’ needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. The whole program comes with various components—i-Ready Diagnostic and i-Ready Instruction being the ones the students will use. i-Ready Diagnostic offers adaptive diagnostic tests for K-12 Mathematics and Reading.
These tests will adjust in difficulty according to the student’s previous answer. Correct answers lead to more challenging questions and incorrect answers lead to easier questions. On the other hand, the i-Ready Instruction provides lessons that are based on the students’ individual skill level and needs according to the diagnostic tests. These also come with interactive guides and games. However, while i-Ready offers a number of useful features, it can easily fall short for the students using it.
For one, syncing the lessons on it with the actual class lessons may hinder the students’ interest in the subject. It’s easy to advance with the in-app lessons and pass over where the class has left off. Another thing is that its approach can be boring to some, even with the addition of games. The app tends to bug out, as well, and not save your progress in the diagnostic test. Overall, i-Ready has the spirit but it still needs some work on it.
