"Draw" a dictionary word.
The essence of the project is that students would learn ways of memorizing words and applying them in practice, they would be able to independently memorize spellings that cannot be checked.
In order to remember how a dictionary word is spelled, you need to "draw" it. It's very simple. Dream up! You will succeed. You can use rebuses, crossword puzzles, so that the spelling in the word will be remembered by you for the rest of your life. The most important thing is that you come up with them to the dictionary word yourself.
To help you, I offer several more ways to memorize dictionary words:
1st method “Word in word”.
The essence of this method lies in the fact that in some dictionary words there are "small" words in which the letter of the stressed vowel is the same as the letter of the unstressed vowel in the dictionary word. And with this little word, it's easy to remember the spelling of a dictionary word.
For example, in the word skates there is a “small” word horse, in which the letter of the stressed vowel “o” is the same as the letter of the unstressed vowel in the word skates. The word "horse" easily helps to remember the spelling of the word "skates".
Or: in the word cutlet there is a “small” word cat, in which the letter of the stressed vowel is “o”. This word “helps” remember what letter of the unstressed vowel is in the word cutlet.
Examples of words: swallow (dot), crow (thief), composition (Sochi), cottage cheese (horn).
To better remember which "small" words are in the dictionary, you can combine them into sentences.
Example: The horse is skating. The cat eats a cutlet. The swallow in the sky looks like a dot. The crow pecked at the thief. I wrote an essay about Sochi all day yesterday. The elk hung a package on the horn, in which there was cottage cheese.
Method 2 "Etymology".
Etymology is the science of the origin of words.
Studying the etymological reference, you learn from which word the dictionary word originated. And very often in the word "parent" the letter of the stressed vowel is the same as the letter of the unstressed vowel in the dictionary word.
And since the etymological reference is interesting, you will easily memorize, so to speak, a “test” word.
An example of an etymological reference to the word "skates":
Initially, skates were made of wood, with steel skids attached at the bottom. Metal skates appeared in Russia three hundred years ago. The young Tsar Peter the Great personally forged iron skates for himself. They were called runners. The bend of the ridge was decorated with the image of a horse's head. Hence the name "skates" - "little horses".
3 “Association” method.
Associative thinking is thinking with the help of images.
Our mind is capable of making very intricate connections between objects.
Any dictionary word can be “tested” by choosing a word connected with the help of an association, in which the letter of the stressed vowel is the same as the letter of the unstressed vowel in the dictionary word.
For example: the letter of the unstressed vowel in the word skates can be remembered using the word skating rink, in which the letter of the unstressed vowel is the same as the letter of the unstressed vowel in this dictionary word.
