The Mouse Brothers
Naptime for Benji and Petey

Once upon a time, there was a little brown mouse named Benji. Benji had a younger brother named Petey. The Mouse Brothers looked almost exactly alike.

If it hadnt been for the little patch of white fur on top of Peteys head, you might even have taken them for twins, although, in truth, Benji was a bit taller than Petey.

The MouseBrothers made their home in a wee little mousehouse at the edge of a field, not too terribly far from here.

Their little house was pale yellow (some might say that it was the same color as Swiss Cheese), and a rainbow of tiny flowers grew next to their front door.

Benji was a good little mouse. His brother Petey was good most of the time, but Petey had a bit of a mischievous side too.

As a very young mouse, Benji had learned to take naps so that he wasn't tired all of the time.

His brother Petey hated naps! Petey thought naps were for babies, so he tried to avoid them as much as possible.

One day, Benji and Petey were playing at the neighborhood mouse-playground.

It was a wonderful playground, with a tiny swing set, a ball field and a little mouse exercise wheel that everyone loved to run around in.
On this particular day all of the little mice were very excited. Their favorite mouse "Superhero" movie was going to be on TV that night and they had all wanted to see it for a very long time. It was the talk of the playground.

All the little mice had taken a nap that afternoon so they would be able to stay up late and watch the whole movie! All but Petey, that is.

"I can't believe you guys! Naps are for babies! Im a big boy. I'm not going to fall asleep during my favorite movie!" Petey bragged.

"Petey, everybody takes naps, not just babies." said Benji. "As a matter of fact, Moms and Dads and Grandmas and Grandpas take naps too."

Petey just sniffed. "I didn't take a nap and Im going to watch to WHOLE movie!" said Petey. "You guys are just a bunch of babies."

The other mice just shrugged. It was no use arguing with Petey. Honest-to-goodness, they thought, sometimes that little mouse could be such a know-it-all it just wasn't worth the aggravation to try to explain anything to him. So they didnt. Later that night, after dinner, Benji and Petey got all ready to watch the movie.

They put their matching mouse PJ's on, made some Swiss cheese flavored popcorn, and settled down with their pillows on the comfortable little blue couch.

"Benji, I'm so excited I can hardly wait to see the movie! said Petey excitedly. "Ive been waiting for this show for the longest time!"

"Me too," replied Benji, "but I sure am I glad I took a nap, because this is a long movie and I dont want to miss any of it!"

"SSSSHHHH, the movie is about to start!" Petey scolded his brother, and with that he tucked his feet up under him and settled himself against the comfortable pillow.

Well, wouldnt you know it, no more than ten minutes after the movie started, Petey's eyelids started to feel heavy.
First he tried changing positions on the couch, then he got up and moved to the other side of the couch to try to wake up a bit.
It was no good. He felt himself falling asleep again. "Oh no! I just can't fall asleep!" he thought to himself. He even tried shaking his head back and forth to try to wake himself up.
"What on EARTH are you DOING?" yelled Benji "Youre making me crazy, Petey! I really want to see this! Will you please just sit still and watch the movie!"

"Sorry!" yawned Petey.

Sure enough, halfway through their favorite movie, Petey had fallen sound asleep.

Benji reached over and shook his brother. "Wake up Petey!" said Benji, "Youre missing the movie!"

"Mmmmphh", said Petey, "Goway."

"Petey, wake UP!" said Benji, "Youre missing EVERYTHING!". It was no use. Benji tried and tried to wake his brother up, but Petey simply would not move a muscle.

In fact, he even started to snore!!

"Oh for crying out loud Petey wake UP!" wailed a frustrated Benji. In the end, Petey was snoring so loudly he finally had to be carried up to bed just so that Benji could finish watching the movie in peace and quiet!

The next morning, at the breakfast table, Benji told Petey about all of the great parts of the movie he had missed.

.

"SoPetey," he teased, "Maybe I wasn't such a baby to take a nap after all?" Petey felt like crying. He didn't say a single word because he knew Benji was right. And he knew all of their friends would be talking about the movie today at the playground. Petey really wished he hadnt fallen asleep right in the middle of it!!!

Later that afternoon, after Benji had taken his nap, the Mouse Brothers rode their bikes to the neighborhood playground. All the mice were gathered around the exercise wheel, talking about what an awesome movie they had seen the night before.

"That was probably the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life!" exclaimed one of the little mice. Everybody agreed with him. Petey couldn't stand it! He felt bad enough already and didn't need to be reminded about all the fun he had missed by falling asleep.

"Hey Benji," suggested Petey, "Why dont we go over to the other side of the playground and play ball?"

"Petey!" exclaimed Benji, "Not NOW Were busy talking about the movie!"

Petey sighed and kicked at a little pile of playground dirt. He slowly turned and walked away, heading toward the other side of the playground where another group of mice were playing catch.

"Can I play?" Petey called to them. "Sure! Yeah! Come on!" they shouted.

After a while, even though Petey had been doing a pretty good job of playing catch, he began to get so tired he could hardly keep his eyes open.

He knew that if he didnt stop playing, he was likely to doze right off and get bopped on the head by a flying ball.

Petey waved to the other mice as he headed off the field. He went over and sat down on a little bench to wait for Benji. The next thing he knew, somebody was poking him in the ribs.

"Wake up, Petey, it's time to go home now," Benji was saying. Benji was sitting next to his brother. He was talking rather quietly and nudging Petey in the ribs with his little elbow. Petey had fallen asleep right in the middle of the playground!

He was so embarrassed. What if the other mice had seen him sleeping? He would never hear the end of it.

"Did anyone see me sleeping?" Petey asked Benji as he looked around to see if anyone was looking at him. "Nope, the other mice have all gone home", his brother assured him. "Come on Petey, lets go home," suggested Benji. Benji helped Petey up and the two of them were on their way.

"You know, Petey, if you would just take a nap once in a while you wouldn't get so tired. For sure you wouldnt miss out on so much", said Benji to his little brother as he peddled his way across the field towards the bike path.

Benji nodded sheepishly. "I'm starting to think maybe a nap isn't such a bad idea," agreed Petey

The next day, when Benji went in for his nap, Petey decided to take a nap too. After all, he told himself, his brother Benji and all their mouse friends took naps and they weren't babies.

So Petey climbed up the little ladder on his bunk bed and tumbled onto the mattress. In a flash he fell sound asleep!

By the time he woke up, Petey felt wonderful.

"Wow Benji, I feel great! I have so much energy! Hey---Let's go play ball!" Petey chattered excitedly.

Benji yawned. "Okay, okay, but give me a minute to wake up" insisted Benji, who was still just a wee bit groggy.

Petey was tossing a ball in the air and skipping around the room, he felt so good.

As soon as Benji finished waking up, the Mouse Brothers went to the playground where they played ball all afternoon.

Benji was right!, Petey didn't even get tired!

Petey felt so wide awake and full of energy that he decided from then on, he would try to take a nap every single day.

And do you know what? It worked. He never missed out on another mouse hero movie ever again!

A fairy tale about an asterisk who didn't want to sleep

My beloved son for a certain period of time did not like it very much when I read fairy tales from books. He demanded that during the story, I looked at him, and then he fell asleep better. Once I realized that I didn’t remember children’s fairy tales by heart at all and began to invent my own on the go. So far I have only recorded three, and I want to share them with you. Perhaps someone will come in handy!

The tale of the little star who didn't want to sleep

Once upon a time in the kingdom of the stars, the Golden Month. As soon as it got dark around, he went to the night watch, to check if all the stars were sleeping, but they had sweet dreams. Once he left the house, walks along the Milky Way, looks around. One asterisk will straighten the pillow, another will tuck in a blanket, and the third will quietly hum a lullaby. The stars sleep sweetly. Satisfied with the Golden Month, that everything is calm in his kingdom. Suddenly I heard some noise. He went in the direction from which cheerful laughter is heard. Sees - Asterisk is amused, plays, sings songs. Surprised Month:

- Why are you not sleeping, - asks the Laughter Star.

- It's boring! I’ll sleep during the day, and it’s so fun to play at night, ”Star answers in a clear voice.

- It's a mess not to sleep when everyone else is sleeping. I'll come tomorrow and check. If you don't sleep, I'll have to punish you!

Asterisk missed the words of the Golden Month past her ears, she ran on to play.

The next night came. Another month went on patrol. What's happened? Again noise, din, laughter is heard.

- Are you awake again? - More than ever, the Moon got angry at the Asterisk.

- I slept during the day, - as if nothing had happened, she answers.

- I'm warning you for the last time, - the Golden Month threatened.

The third night has come. Again the Month comes to inspect its possessions. Again laughter bursts forth. The asterisk jumps from foot to foot, rejoices.

- Everything! Enough from me, - the Month was seriously angry. - All stars should sleep at night, children should illuminate their dreams with their magical flicker. I deprive you of your daytime sleep for this, you won’t be able to rest when you get tired of the games. - He said this, turned around and went home.

Asterisk has stopped sleeping during the day since then, but in the evening it appears before everyone else in the sky, and in the morning it burns longer than the others - it sleeps off, restores strength. Everyone should sleep at night, both children and stars. After all, even the Golden Month, ending his night watch, returns to his home and falls asleep in a warm, cozy bed.

Before going to bed

Night comes to us again,

Cheek cute son

I kiss before bed,

Our noisy house has been sleeping for a long time.

Behind the curtain on the window,

Sleeping, curled up, cat.

Sleeping toys in cupboards,

Sleeping cars here and there.

The moon sleeps sweetly in the sky,

The wind no longer makes noise.

Trees sleep in a dark park,

The animals are sleeping in the zoo.

Swings are sleeping on the playground,

Colored carousels are sleeping.

Dogs sleep in the yard,

Insects sleep in the grass.

Deftly, hiding behind a hill,

The sun sleeps in his closet.

Everyone around is sleeping so sweetly,

Magical dreams are looking.

Our son falls asleep,

Pulled up and yawns.

For down pillow,

He lays down the top of his head.

I cover with a blanket,

I softly close the door.

Sleep, sygulechka, native

Tomorrow will be another day...

Tale of a curious car

If you come up to the window late at night, you will see many, many cars driving along the road. All of them are in a hurry to go home, as they bring magical dreams to the children so that they can sleep peacefully all night, until the morning.

Today I'm going to tell you a story about a Curious Machine who came home late and nearly left a good boy sleepless.

A Curious Machine was driving one evening, in a hurry. An interesting, eventful day was left behind, and soon it was necessary to go to bed. The car illuminated its way with the warm light of yellow headlights and suddenly saw a path that went straight into the depths of the forest. She wondered what was behind the green trees. She turned off the road and drove down the path.

The path twisted and twisted until it finally led the Machine to a wonderful lake. Sleeping stars were reflected on the mirror-like surface of the reservoir, in the reeds the mother frog croaked a lullaby to her frogs, the trees, tired during the day, quietly rustled. The Curious Machine admired the surrounding beauty, listened to the sounds around. And she even forgot about the magical dream that she was carrying a little boy. It is not known how long the Machine would have stood like that, but it began to make her sleepy, the headlights began to close.

The Curious Machine started up here, remembered that she falls asleep only after the boy gives a magical dream. She turned around and hurried home. Rides, worries, how is the boy going to sleep without her. And it’s true, she didn’t worry in vain - as soon as she began to drive up to the house, she heard crying. He looks at the boy's red eyes, rubs them with small fists, cries, but without a magical dream he cannot fall asleep.

The boy saw the Typewriter, smiled, laid his head on the pillow and immediately began to look at the dream that she brought him. The Curious Machine sighed softly and went to sleep in her warm garage, promising that now she would be curious only during the day.

Therapeutic effect - getting used to sleep in kindergarten .

    Age of children: 2-5 years.

Fairy tale for fairy tale therapy for preschool children: "Dream of Kolobok"

Kolobok lived with his grandparents. He was obedient, and therefore did not run away from them anywhere. Every morning Kolobok rolled along the path to the kindergarten. There he played with friends, had fun, sang his favorite song about himself to everyone, and when in the evening he returned back to his grandparents, he always told them what interesting things happened to him today in the garden. Kolobok liked everything in the kindergarten, except for one thing - he could not go to bed at lunch in the garden: he cried, was capricious, could not fall asleep for a long time, even tried to roll off the bed and tried to roll from the kindergarten home to his grandparents. But one day his teacher, Chanterelle, managed to stop him on the threshold of the kindergarten in time and bring him back to the group. She put Kolobok back in a comfortable bed, covered him with a warm blanket and asked.

    - Why don't you like to sleep in the garden, Kolobok?

    - Because it's so sad to lie in bed with your eyes closed and not see anything. It's not that interesting!

    - Don't just lie down, try to fall asleep to see interesting dreams! - Lisichka said affectionately.

    class="eliadunit">

    - Dreams? I don't know what dreams are. They never get to me.

    - Lie down more comfortably and I will teach you to dream... - Chanterelle said.

Then the teacher Lisichka advised Kolobok not just to lie in the bed with his eyes closed, but to relax, feel how warm and comfortable his bed is and try to dream about something pleasant.

Gingerbread man closed his eyes and tried to do everything as Chanterelle told him. And a miracle happened - he fell asleep and had a good dream. He dreamed of a cheerful bunny that jumped with him, then the Wolf played the game “Catch me” with him - and they had a lot of fun, then Mishka danced with him to joyful, cheerful music.
