Description
We are proud that one of our partners for grant programs since 2015 is the south -Western Jiaotong University! It is one of the top 50 best universities in China and annually provides our students with solid grants for higher education and preparatory programs! It is one of the oldest universities in China, founded in 1896 year. The university is one of the strongest in such areas as economics, logistics, e-commerce and business.
The university is considered the progenitor of the undergraduate majors Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, and Mines and Metallurgical Industry. Over the years of its existence, Southwestern Jiaotong University has become a partner of more than 200 universities and scientific laboratories in 54 countries, for example, Cornwall University, International Railway University, University of Illinois in the USA, University of Technology in Munich. The university is located in the picturesque and super-developed city of Chengdu (China's 4th largest city) in southwest China and educates hundreds of international students every year.

“Planet South-West” — 2022: we are going on an annual trip around the world
Life at PFUR

Students from 160 countries study at PFUR. Every year, every student, employee and resident of the surrounding area gets the chance to travel around the world. But not in 80 days, as in Jules Verne's novel, but in one day - right on the PFUR campus. On May 14, the University will host the Planet Southwest festival for the 34th time.
Planet "South-West" in PFUR is:
- 64 national shows: from Venezuela to Sri Lanka, from South Africa to Serbia, from Turkey to Lebanon.
- 14 workshops from compatriots: caporales from Bolivian students, mehendi from compatriots of Sudan and much more.
- 52 creative numbers: dance with umbrellas from Vietnamese fraternity, Benin drum rhythms, "Nettle" polyphony...
- When? 14 May at 12:00
- Where? The square in front of the Russian Language Institute (10/3 Miklukho-Maklay St.) and the EHF building (10/2 Miklukho-Maklay St.), behind the RUDN Clinical Diagnostic Center.
- What to bring to the event? Identity document.
“I remember the very first festival “Planet South-West”, then they blocked the territory from Leninsky Prospekt to Akademika Volgin Street. National exhibitions, 4 concert venues... There were about 50,000 guests. Now the festival has become different: concert performances are at a high professional level, even more souvenirs are presented at national exhibitions.
One thing remains unchanged - the atmosphere that is created at RUDN University thanks to the festival. "Planet South-West" is a holiday that is known in every corner of the globe, "- Alexander Ermakov, head of the department for work with students, organizer of the festival since 1987 years old.
Facts about the festival "Planet South-West":
- The most "adult" festival in RUDN University. It was first held in 1987 and was interrupted only once - in 2020.
- Festival record - 87 national exhibitions. Installed in 2014.
- The song "Katyusha" is the record holder of the festival. It sounded 34 times out of 34 possible.
- The Rhythms of Friendship and Raduga teams are the only Interclub teams that took part in all the festivals.
