For children with severe developmental disabilities, music may be the first channel through which the teacher manages to penetrate the world of the child.

All songs are divided into sections, depending on the task that is set in the lesson and its structure:

Sensorimotor alphabet

One of the most important areas of work of the "Road of Kindness" center is the development of communication and socialization skills in children with special needs. The request of parents - the emergence and development of speech, the formation of reading and writing skills - is also associated with this direction. And our common desire is to help the child learn to communicate with other children and adults, to feel as comfortable as possible in kindergarten and at school. The sensorimotor alphabet is a didactic tool for stimulating one's own speech activity and teaching children with special needs to read. The alphabet was developed, created and used by the teachers of the "Road of Kindness" center. The idea of creating a manual arose when we were faced with the need to educate children with various developmental disabilities in one group.

The manual presents materials that can be used to stimulate their own speech activity and teaching reading to children with developmental disabilities. The sensorimotor alphabet set includes: - touch letters, - pictures-symbols containing an association with sound and a graphic image of a letter, - gestures that repeat articulation (kinetic image of sound) - singing vowel sounds and syllables. The use of the sensorimotor alphabet makes it possible to effectively teach children and include them as much as possible in a group lesson. As a result of the complex use of these materials, conditions are created for the most natural transition to the formation of reading skills. Motor, sensory and symbolic images of sound and letters gradually merge and make it possible to move to a more abstract level of the graphic image of the letter. This creates conditions for the coordinated work of the right and left hemispheres, which subsequently makes it possible to move from a global perception of the image of letters, syllables and words to analytical and synthetic reading.
