Ideas for children's photo shoots in winter outdoors

Ideas for a children's photo shoot on the street in winter can be very diverse. You can take pictures of babies on any day, regardless of the weather:

  • on a clear, sunny day - the photos will be bright and saturated
  • in bad weather - the main accents can be made on the composition of the frame
  • in the snow - it is worth trying to convey the special magic of the moment
  • in thaw and slush - you can add bright colors with the help of various accessories (scarves, boots)

Depending on whether there are clouds in the sky, or whether the day is sunny, the illumination can be completely different. To get the best pictures of children, you need to adjust the equipment in accordance with the weather conditions.

To photograph a baby in cloudy weather, it is better to fully open the aperture. This will allow you to use a little sharpness and build a quality perspective.

With diffused light, portraits are especially good, so pay attention to your child, and capture nature another time. On a cloudy day, you can practice shooting in monochrome. Forgo color in favor of black and white photos and this might be your best winter idea.

In clear weather, you can safely go to the forest and take pictures of a young model against the backdrop of beautiful natural landscapes. Winter sunny days offer very different conditions for shooting - now the problem is significant contrast. You can solve it with the right exposure, setting the exact balance between deep shadows and sparkling snow.

To shoot a baby against a very light background, you can use the Beach / Snow scene program, which is present in modern digital cameras. However, if you have the appropriate experience and knowledge, it is better not to rely on automation, and set the mode manually.

Just great children's pictures are obtained at sunset or dawn on a clear day. If it turns out to be quite dark, you can use the flash, and if it is not enough, additional lighting.

In winter, daylight hours are very short, so you may have to photograph your child at dusk. To get good shots, choose a lighted place - fortunately, at night in the cities there are enough various artistic illuminations. Great photos can be taken against the backdrop of festive fireworks. It is only important not to forget about caution and not to let the baby get too close to them.

Secrets of the best shots

For children's winter photography, it is very important to use a variety of light filters:

  • to neutralize the blue color that prevails in snowy areas, you can use Skylight
  • to brighten dull colors and at the same time soften the intensity of reflected light, choose a polarizing filter
  • standard color filters will allow you to create amazing effects when shooting the most ordinary scenes with your child in the lead role

In the yard

A good photo session in winter can be held right in the yard. Choose a time when it is especially crowded and go for a walk. Let your child play with other children, do whatever he wants - this way you can get interesting photos.

In winter, there is a lot of fun on the street, and no matter what the kids are up to, it can all be photographed. Building an impenetrable fortress, playing snowball fights, and going downhill are great ideas for street photography.

Outdoors

Winter is generous with beautiful landscapes, which means that in order to take some unique pictures, it makes sense to go to nature. Find a suitable place in a forest or a clearing - take a picture of a child, for example, against the backdrop of a snow-covered Christmas tree.

If there was a recent snowfall, you can shake a small tree or branch - a snow stream will fall, which will look spectacular in the photo.

Snowman

You can arrange a children's street photo shoot with a snowman, which is a symbol of winter fun. The beauty of this topic lies in the fact that you can shoot absolutely everything: from the moment you leave the house to the very end result of your creativity, including the stages of painstaking work.

Create a whole company of snowmen. For more fun, put one of them on the sled, and give the other a stick and make skates. Put on hats and warm scarves, and your child's smile and rosy cheeks will add even more bright colors.

Festive photoset

An excellent topic for a photo shoot in winter will be festive festivities, which are held on Christmas, New Year's, and also on Maslenitsa days. Buffoons and other fairy-tale characters roam these days in abundance in parks and various open areas. Have a photo session next to them, let there be a beautiful Christmas tree in the frame.

A child can dance in the company of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, recite a poem, receive a gift.

On Maslenitsa, the main theme of street photography can be taking pictures with pancakes. Burning an effigy of Maslenitsa will cause a lot of positive emotions in children, which will make your pictures bright and lively.

Children and animals

A very popular topic for winter photography is children and animals. Our smaller brothers are sometimes very photogenic and seem very spontaneous in the frame. Together with a cat, a child can watch frisky birds. Let the big dog play with the child in the snow - the photos will turn out interesting.

Another idea for baby photos is taking pictures with birds. Pour grains into the feeder, and nimble titmouse will flock to your photo shoot from everywhere. Bullfinches and waxwings often sit in flocks on trees and bushes, treat them too - with their presence they will add color to the photographs.

Interesting stories can be beaten while riding horses. A baby can be put on a pony, an older child on a big horse. Photo shoots in nature look very impressive, where a child sits in a decorated sleigh pulled by three horses.

Among the snow-covered alleys

If the photo session takes place outdoors in winter, you can go to the park. Snow-covered tree branches, motionless powdered fountains, even ordinary benches surrounded by snowdrifts will be a great backdrop for your shots.

Dress your baby in a bright jacket, warm mittens and a scarf. A child can take a sled along frost-covered alleys, feed birds or make a snowman. The main thing is not to freeze and get a charge of positive emotions from photographing.

Skates and skis

A street photo session in winter can be held at the skating rink. You can shoot children during the day with natural light, and in the evening, when most of the sites are illuminated with bright, multi-colored lights.

No less interesting can be photos taken during a ski trip. It's great if there is a ski resort near you, if not, go to the nearest forest or park. Do not forget the special equipment and, of course, a good mood.

How to photograph children correctly?

When choosing a time to shoot, make sure that:

  • it was enough to complete the photo session before dark, otherwise take additional light sources with you
  • the baby was full and was in a good mood
  • the child was not sick and was ready to be outside for the right amount of time

In order for the photos to turn out to be diverse, do not force the baby to sit still or stand in one position for a long time. Let him feel free and choose how to move: you can run, have fun, make faces. Your task is to catch the most successful angle and capture the moment.

Professionals recommend photographing a baby at about eye level or even lower. This is necessary so that the pictures show not only a hat and a hood from a jacket, but also a cheerful face. Squat down and get into a vantage point.

Change the shooting point as often as possible. Let your album contain both general and medium shots. Special attention can be paid to macro photography - take a picture of a snowflake that landed on your baby's nose or a beautiful bump that he found in the snow.

Pay special attention to children's eyes. To get a clear view image, ask the child to look into the lens.

To shoot a moving baby, do not rely on automation - focus the camera manually. After that, outline the place where you want to capture your child. Ask the child to run and press the button on the camera when the child is at the desired point.

If you are not very good at setting up photographic equipment, but you really want to take a picture of a baby in motion, you can use tracking autofocus. For Nikon cameras, it is designated Continuous-servo AF, for Canon - Servo AF. When using it, it is enough to press the shutter button halfway, and the camera will keep the young model in focus: when the child approaches you or moves away. Tracking autofocus will allow you to photograph the baby, for example, on a swing.

For best results, choose a scene to shoot based on the age of the child. You should not put him on skis, if he is still very small, let him pose while sitting on a sled. And, of course, pay attention to the child's passions and hobbies - if he likes it, let him play hockey or ride downhill.

Cold weather precautions

Winter in the process of photography makes its own adjustments and they must be taken into account, because otherwise, it is possible:

  • the quality of frames shot in the cold will be noticeably reduced
  • on liquid crystal displays, color reproduction will be distorted, contrast and brightness will be lost
  • optical stabilizer won't work

In order for this not to happen and for each child's photo to be successful, it is necessary to remember the basic rules of a children's photo shoot in the winter on the street. When photographing in the winter you need:

  • avoid condensation (even simply turning on a foggy camera can lead to breakage, and if you take it out into the cold, not only the lens, but also moving parts can be damaged)
  • do not allow drops of water from snow and icicles to get on the camera - when planning to photograph a baby outside the home, be sure to take a dry, lint-free cloth with you to care for equipment (wet wipes intended for hands will not work)
  • take additional accumulators or batteries with you - at negative temperatures, much more energy is consumed and, if you do not stock up on additional sources, then the photo session in winter will end much faster than you planned
  • before taking pictures, remove mittens or gloves, otherwise you can knock down the settings or drop expensive equipment in the snow (you can use special gloves with half-cut fingers)
  • finish shooting children on time - this should be done when the first signs of freezing of the camera are detected, which include sluggish autofocus, muffled shutter sound, increased display response

For high-quality children's pictures in the cold season, choose a camera with an optical viewfinder, take a protective bag for the camera with you. To extend the life of the batteries in the cold, keep them warm - for example, keep them in your jacket pocket.

Returning home after walking with the baby, do not rush to get the camera out of the case. Leave it for a few hours away from heating devices, let it gradually warm up to room temperature.

Follow these simple tips, and any ideas for a children's photo shoot on the street in the winter will be fully implemented.

Volumetric crafts winter. DIY winter crafts: the best ideas and photos

The first association that comes to mind at the mention of winter is, of course, the New Year. Our fantasy always draws snowy streets, cheeks red in the cold, huge snowdrifts and long winter evenings. Since it gets dark early, children spend a lot of time at home. Most of them take scissors, paper and start creating. Parents help develop skills and show new ways.

A creative streak awakens at the sight of a New Year's beauty - a Christmas tree, which must be dressed in the most beautiful outfits. At this moment, fantasy begins to work with a vengeance for both parents and children. New Year is a real field for making garlands, toys, snowflakes and other Christmas decorations. In this way, you achieve two goals - develop the imagination and please the eyes of guests and family.

Joint creativity is the key to a happy family

It's no secret that crafts on the theme "Winter-Winter" have a positive effect on warm family relationships between parents and children. Preparing Christmas gifts is an interesting, exciting activity. Sometimes it becomes a tradition and is repeated year after year. Even the simplest winter Christmas crafts are a difficult task for children, so the kids need your help.

Thus, a fun activity brings families together at the same table. Getting involved in making crafts brings kids joy and the desire to make the best snowman, Christmas tree or snowflake to get praise from a parent. Try to choose children's crafts "Winter" that your child will be able to do. It is important that the child is able to fully develop the potential. Your trust will definitely be justified.

Do-it-yourself paper snowflakes

It is hard to imagine crafts "Winter" without traditional snowflakes, the complexity of which is very diverse. The simplest are paper round options made from napkins.

You can cut from a folded sheet with simple lines, or you can use beautiful patterns and zigzags. Today, you can come up with various paper crafts "Winter".

If your child is getting bored of carving such models due to age, offer to make a three-dimensional figurine. For this:

  • take a square piece of paper;
  • fold corners through center;
  • make deep cuts in order on one side and the other, not reaching the edge a couple of centimeters;
  • cut the bottom in a straight line;
  • expand the resulting snowflake;
  • turn the corners one at a time towards the center and fix with glue;
  • do the same for other corners and glue.

Simple actions result in a stunning three-dimensional snowflake. Several winter beauties can be hung from the ceiling or decorate a picture hanging on the wall.

Beaded snowflakes

Girls will be delighted with the idea of creating sophisticated and shiny beads. The central part is made of small elements, and the rays are made of a scattering of beads. You can choose the color solution yourself. If you want to achieve a la naturel, then give preference to white, blue and silver shades. For fantasy, use all the colors of the rainbow. As a basis, a wire or thread is suitable. It is more convenient to use a thin wire, crafts "Winter" from it will hold tighter, and it is easier to hang them on a Christmas tree.

Instructions for making a shiny snowflake:

  • string 5 beads and form a ring - this is the central part;
  • put on 5 beads of which form loops;
  • keep making rays until the snowflake has the desired volume.

At the end, tie a beautiful thread or a piece of "rain" to hang the product on the Christmas tree. Craft "Winter" with your own hands can be done quickly enough. She will take center stage on the forest beauty and will be the pride of the whole family.

Snowflakes from the grocery department

The best visionaries are mothers of small children. They are ready to adapt the most incredible things to create a masterpiece. Some of them even got to pasta! Such products are ideal for "long-term storage" crafts, they do not deteriorate or change shape.

Get creative with the available pasta. Bows, views, nets, shells - all this can be combined into one ensemble and create amazing snowflakes, garlands and toys. To give crafts originality, paint them in interesting colors or cover them with white.

Crafts for the little ones

The little ones want to create too. There are ideal options for them - creating applications according to a template or simply cutting out interesting pictures. Take multi-colored felt or paper and draw the details of the future figure on them, let the child cut them out. Then collect the blanks in one composition and try to decorate by gluing beads, stripes and buttons. Crafts "Winter" should hang in the most visible place so that the baby can show off.

New Year souvenir slippers with Santa Claus

Winter crafts for school should be original and memorable. So, if your child comes to class with New Year's-style slippers, he will definitely get an A. Of course, you can create real shoes in order to walk around the house, but this option is not suitable for children, but creating a souvenir is just right. For manufacturing, any dense fabric or cardboard is suitable.

Instructions for making:

  • ask the child to trace his foot on paper;
  • shape the sole and ask him to cut this part according to the template on the material chosen in advance;
  • draw the top of the sneaker;
  • cut it out of the material;
  • using paper, cardboard, fabric, buttons, sintepon, make the face of Santa Claus on the top or depict it in full;
  • connect the upper and lower parts;
  • If the seam is very visible, decorate it with braid.

After the slipper is ready, you can further decorate it, for example, sprinkle it with frost or snow motifs. You can use this gift option as a pocket for combs or a phone.

Eggshell crafts

As we have already understood, winter crafts can be made from anything. There are craftsmen who are able to create jewelry from the shell of a chicken egg. In order to prepare the testicle for decoration, you need to get rid of the contents. Make small holes and blow out the egg white and yolk. Next, the most interesting - decoration. A method that even children can handle is to glue the eggs with colorful pieces of paper. From the prepared blocks, you can glue a figure of a snowman, Santa Claus, a dog or a gnome. Glue a cap, hair, eyes, mouth and nose to them.

Decoration options:

  • fine rain;
  • sequins;
  • paper;
  • painting with acrylic paint;
  • gluing felt and fabric parts;
  • tailoring of clothing items.

With the help of this technique, a New Year's talisman will appear in your collection, which will bring good luck. However, you need to be careful, as the shell is very thin and can easily break.

Making a New Year's house

Another winter craft for school - a New Year's house. Doing it is quite difficult, so you will definitely need the help of parents. A juice pack or other box, cardboard, any paper glue and decor are suitable as a frame.

Instructions for making crafts "Winter":

A can of spray paint and stencils are suitable as decor. You can cut patterns out of napkins with a winter motif and glue them in some places. As a roof covering, you can use cone petals, which are glued in a checkerboard pattern. Hang curtains on the windows, and attach a small bead-handle to the door. That's all - do-it-yourself winter craft is ready!

Winter in our region lasts a long time. What can you do with your child on long winter evenings? Why not do winter crafts with him?! In this article you will find a large number of a wide variety of winter children's crafts.

Crafts on a winter theme vary in difficulty. There are very simple do-it-yourself winter crafts that even preschoolers can handle. There are more complex winter crafts designed for school-age children and adults. Many make winter crafts for a competition in a kindergarten or school. But even if you do not have the task of winning the winter-themed craft contest, we still recommend that you make at least one of some winter crafts for children from our wonderful selection.

Let's start with simpler winter crafts for kids. With a preschool child, you can mold a penguin from plasticine, and to make it more interesting to play with the resulting toy, make ice floes for the penguins from pieces of foam. In the process of such games, you can tell a lot of interesting things to the baby about the animals living at the North and South Poles of our planet.

With older children, make a penguin out of plastic bottles. For this do-it-yourself winter craft, you will need two two-liter plastic bottles, a stationery knife, a glue gun and acrylic paints. How to make a penguin from plastic bottles is shown in detail in the photo below.

Be sure to make a snowman out of socks with your child. This is a very simple do-it-yourself children's winter craft, meanwhile, such a snowman looks very beautiful, almost like a purchased toy. Such a snowman can be placed under the Christmas tree along with Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. Do not be ashamed to give it for the New Year as a gift.

To make your own winter snowman craft you will need:

Two socks (one of them is white)
- rice (round)
- buttons
- beautiful rope
- orange paper or orange pencil

The charming doll in the photo below is made from an ordinary mitten. Her head is a foam ball, the filler for this children's winter craft is fig.

It is appropriate to make a cute bright hat for such a doll.

It will also be interesting to make a toy sled for a mitten girl or any other small toy. This DIY winter craft is made from wooden ice cream sticks or medical spatulas. It is most convenient to fasten the parts of the sled together with a glue gun.

Do you like children's stories? We are sure yes. And winter (New Year's) children's fairy tales? Without a doubt! Agree, after all, it's nice, having covered yourself with a warm blanket and slowly drinking hot chocolate or linden tea with honey, to read some fascinating winter story with your child. Do you want the fairy tale to become a little closer, or rather, even to settle in your home? Then make the next winter craft with your baby. Print and cut out mink mouse . Let the child color it with colored pencils. Now glue the mouse to the wall at the level of the baseboard in some secluded corner of your house.

So, on New Year's Eve, a little fairy-tale mouse settled in your house. "What a cute winter fairy tale craft," you will no doubt say.

The most favorite and popular winter sports for children are skiing and skating. The theme of winter sports is reflected in children's winter crafts. Interesting winter crafts for kindergarten can be made using magnets.

In the photo below, a paper clip has been attached to the paper girl on skates. A magnet was attached to the bottom of the tin box. It turned out a wonderful winter craft, or rather a fun toy. The child drives a magnet along the bottom of the box - the young figure skater repeats all the movements of his hand.

We would like to present you another DIY winter craft for kindergarten. "Ski Track".

This winter-themed craft is also made using a magnet. We make a track for a skier from a piece of cardboard, place flags (we stick toothpicks with self-adhesive flags into plasticine), stretch the start and finish, plant Christmas trees along the edge (mosaic in plasticine). The skier is obtained from a Lego figure, to which we glue cardboard skis with paper clips at the bottom. We attach a magnet to a long ruler to control the descent of the skier. Ready! Learning to manage a skier, the child will perfectly develop fine motor skills of hands.

The skier can be made in another way. Draw it on thick paper, color it and cut it out with scissors. Skis will replace wooden ice cream sticks (or medical spatulas), excellent ski poles will come from toothpicks or bamboo skewers. Between themselves, the skis are fixed with a piece of plastic tube, to which they are glued on both sides. Thus, not only an original children's winter craft is obtained, but also an exciting fun toy.

If you want to make a simple, but at the same time original winter DIY craft for kindergarten with your child, then we advise you to pay attention to the photo below. In the photo you see a skating rink made of paper. Plain white paper of increased density was painted with blue watercolor paint, and sprinkled with salt on top until the paint dried. This made it possible to create the effect of an ice coating on paper, as on a real ice rink. The girl and Christmas trees are also made of paper. Snowdrifts around the skating rink are made of cotton wool.

Have you looked all over the Internet looking for DIY winter crafts for school? We have some interesting ideas for you. For example, you can make such a winter bouquet with your child. To do this, find beautiful tree branches during a walk in the forest or park. Bring them home. At home, chop up a piece of foam with your hands. Moisten the styrofoam with water beforehand, so it will not stick to your hands. Lubricate the branches with glue, then sprinkle them with foam. Winter bouquet is ready!

You can also make such a winter DIY craft for school - a pompom bird.

It is made in the same way as a regular round pom-pom made of yarn, the only difference is that not two cardboard rings are taken as the base, but the silhouette of a bird with a round hole inside. It will be interesting to decorate a bouquet of tree branches with such birds.

It will not be a shame to bring such a creation to the winter crafts competition in kindergarten.

This winter window is made of plain and corrugated paper. A kind of envelope is made from two sheets of thick colored paper, inside which a child's drawing is inserted. Curtains for the window are made of corrugated paper folded like an accordion. With the help of a hole punch, holes were made in them and put on a thin cord. Here's what happened as a result. By the way, drawings can be changed depending on the time of year or the mood of the child.

We will not describe in detail here how to make this winter craft with our own hands, because everything is clear and without further ado.

Winter crafts

Winter has come! Snow, frost, sleds, skates - WHERE? Our Latvian weather again unpredictably canceled winter. Well, let's do the winter ourselves, with our own hands. And create a festive pre-Christmas atmosphere! And to help you, I offer a small selection of ideas.

There was already a big postcard thread, so I won't delve too deeply into this topic, I'll just post some new ideas. Yarn, buttons, threads, ribbons, paper, pencil shavings and some magic!

Last year there were Christmas trees made of stripes, this year we will make the Christmas trees a little more voluminous - we will twist the tubes from colored paper.

Unusual candlesticks are obtained by simply cutting out a black and white picture of a city or a castle and wrapping it around a jar. You can make a whole fabulous city. And the fabulous atmosphere will be supported by lanterns and candlesticks made of tin cans, on which an openwork pattern is pierced.

A cone is a tree in itself. And a lot of cones - this is a big tree.

Since we are talking about Christmas trees, here is an option. Elegant and original. And by the size and number of Christmas trees, you can understand how big a wine lover you are.

And finally, I propose to remember our smaller brothers and make such unusual feeders. Gelatin dissolves in water, then the food is poured, laid out in molds and cooled in the refrigerator.

I hope that some of the ideas will be useful to you and your winter evenings will be filled with creativity!
